This is the new library on Brookside, which moved from Peoria Avenue next to the Walmart neighborhood market, to around the corner, south of Wright Elementary. It opened in the Fall of 2025 and it's absolutely beautiful.
It has plenty of parking available and even a drive-up service window to conveniently drop off and pick up books. The children's area is colorful and full of comfortable sitting spaces. It is actually the size of what the entire Brookside library used to be, so it's a huge upgrade! There is also an outdoor play area and tricycle track. There is a small section specifically for teens and a dedicated activity space for arts and crafts with a 3D printer and laser cutter.
Book collections are very organized and categories are easy to find. There is an oversized chess board in the middle, which is super fun. There's a computer lab and laptops are available for in-library use. A nice space outdoors serves as adult reading space. The landscaping around the building is very nice. Highly recommend!
Different sized rooms are available for reservation. They can be used for meeting space, tutoring/study sessions, or group work. Afterschool tutoring programs are available to students of all ages. Sign up can be easily done online or in person. read more
