I recently attempted to schedule a consult for a thyroid nodule needle aspiration at ENT & Allergy…read moreAssociates in Sewell, NJ, and my experience was extremely disappointing. I requested an appointment online and I received a call back the same day to schedule. I was asked what insurance I had. I clearly stated that I have United Healthcare Medicare Advantage. The scheduler asked whether it was through AARP; I said no, and she said "okay." My appointment was booked and I was told I would receive an email with paperwork to complete. No email ever arrived, so I called again. The person I spoke to apologized and said she would resend the forms. She also asked about my insurance again, and this time told me that they do not accept United Healthcare Medicare Advantage. I explained that my plan pays both in and out of network, and she said "okay," so I proceeded. On the day of my appointment, I finally received the online forms and completed every document they sent. Not even five minutes after submitting them, I got a phone call telling me--once again--that they do not accept United Healthcare. I repeated that my plan covers out-of-network care, but I was told that "they don't do it that way" and that I would have to pay upfront and try to get reimbursement on my own. This entire experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and completely avoidable. I was asked multiple times about my insurance, yet each person gave me a different answer. I was allowed to schedule an appointment that they ultimately refused to honor unless I paid upfront, wasted my time completing paperwork, and was only told the "real" policy minutes before I walked out the door. What happened to medical offices caring about patients instead of money? It's disheartening to see how much things have changed. I hope they improve their communication, consistency, and compassion for future patients.

I was seen by an urgent care that gave me vertigo medicine which helped and they told me to see an ENT. I went to this practice, and I would never go back. The staff here is not friendly. I was seen by a doctor who did one or two quick tests and dismissed me. He sent me out to a physical therapist and basically said he couldn't help me. The physical therapist couldn't see me for 2 weeks, and this office refused to give me any vertigo medicine or even recommend anything over the counter that would help until my appointment with the physical therapist. After all was said and done, I received a $350 bill in the mail for a complete waste of my time. If you're considering going to an ENT, I would look elsewhere.

My elderly father is a retired physician and was concerned by a few things he noticed. We waited an unreasonably long time. When we were called back the staff seemed unprepared and miserable. Doc was in and out of room in 5 minutes without really listening to what we were saying. We made an appointment for him at a different ENT practice where he received appropriate care for his condition. I could never recommend this practice to anyone.

As a result of that i had a painfull infection that lasted about 3 month's and ended up with muffled hearing and pressure in right ear, which i still have. I went to Penn Becker to find out about tuboplasty and if i would be a canidate for it. I saw Vir Patel. During my visit a nasal endoscopy was performed. The next day i could not breath through my nose. I got a 7 day antibiotic through telemed thinking the wand on the scope must have been dirty. Antibiotic didn't work, went to an ENT who gave me 10 day antibiotic which didn't work, then a 14 day with no relief. The ENT who i saw after this i had a total of 5 visit's with. A CAT scan revealed chronic sinusitis which i still have. My ENT has done all he can and i am managing this with over the counter product's. I am still congested, get nose bleeds and sneeze attacks. I called Penn Becker on 12-11-24 to let them know what happened. I was told that it would be reviewed for 30 days. The decision came back, they provided me a service and they want payed for it. Total disregard for my well being, "money doctor". I called BC/BS to see if they could help. After a phone conference i was told it would be reviewed once again. After about 6 wk.s i was told the same thing. I was also told that i probably had a cold at the time of the endoscopy and that's what i caused the sinusitus? So it's my fault? My breathing was perfectly fine before i went there, so now i have plugged sinuses to go along with my plugged ear. The last ENT i saw told me sinusitis can become permanent. Great. Lawyers won't touch this. I know from the perforated eardrum. I got a letter last wk. from Benn Pecker driving home again how i am responsible to pay them but on the other hand they relinquish themselves from any responsibility from the injury to me that resulted from the visit. So it only cost me $501.00 for chronic sinusitis, total bill was $953.00. Not bad. On top of that the doctor was really rude to me, i wish i had walked out now. I had to pay for 5 visits with my last ENT plus a cat scan, not to mention the over the counter product's which i continue to buy. So i went there for help for an injury another medical facility caused and ended up with another injury. Unbelievable! If there was not a thing called a credit score i would not pay this. I will be making my first payment this wk. I think i would have been better off going to a veterenarian. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

This facility was spotless and that's important to me during COVID. I also liked that they didn't do a consultation and then schedule a follow up to fix (like other ENT offices I've been to).
