This is my favorite Broken Yolk location for the service and the quality of food :) I've been here several times for brunch, and it is always a good experience! I have tried the Border Benedict, the Sopes Benedict, and the Crunchy French Toast here! Border Benedict: This benedict comes on a corn cake, and is so interesting! I've never had a benny with this texture/flavor before. The beef on top also goes really well with the sweetness of the corn cake. Sopes Benedict: This is another fusion benedict with a different bun compared to a normal benedict, and is also really yummy! Crunchy French Toast: Really yummy! This is really sweet though and kind of too much to finish - it is a good option to order for the table if you are with a bigger group! I really enjoy this chain in general, but this is by far my favorite location! Their hash browns are the best out of all the Broken Yolks. It was my first time at the Broken Yolk Mira Mesa and it's so nice inside! I think it's the only breakfast spot we have in the neighborhood. Our server David was had the best customer service and made sure my water was always filled and checked in on us which was great. 10/10 service. I love the menu! You have your traditional american breakfast, Mexican fusion, and sweets like crepes, waffles and smoothies. I was super hungry for brunch so I ordered the chicken fried steak, with gravy, 2 sunny side eggs, biscuit and hash browns! Please ask for them to be made extra crispy! If you do not ask, it'll be served soggy. The fried chicken steak was bomb, gravy was bomb and bush hit was bomb! 10/10 meal. All in all, I wish i've visited sooner! My partner really enjoyed the chicken fried steak last time so wanted to order it again. - Chicken Fried steak ($18.95): The scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked. The chicken fried steak had a nice crunch underneath the gravy. We asked for the hash browns extra crispy (because that's the way we like them) and sourdough toast that came with super creamy butter. - French toast sweet trio ($17.95): This dish comes with their Tiki Toast, Crunchy French Toast, and cinna-cake. I wanted to try a bit of everything, but since I only liked the Tiki Toast, I wish I had just ordered that instead. It's not that the crunchy french toast or cinna-toast tasted bad. The Tiki Toast was just more unique, with the sweet softness of the Kings Hawaiian bread. There was nothing special about the bread in the Crunchy French Toast, and the cinna -cake was too sweet for me to add much syrup (and my favorite part of pancake eating is drenching everything in syrup!) - We joined their rewards program and got a free short stack of pancakes. BYC is located in Mira Mesa, a few miles from the 15 freeway, in the Target shopping center. Plenty of parking. This was my first time at this location, and second time at a Broken Yolk. The entryway is large and welcoming. They ask you if you want indoor out outdoor seating. We chose to wait for indoor since it was cold and rainy outside. We were lucky on a Sunday morning, and only had a few minutes wait. We were quickly ushered to our table. It was ok, but it was near a station where they pile up dishes that are cleaned from tables, and near a door that was being opened to let people in and out, so a cold draft for most of the time. Alejandra was very nice. She was fast, efficient, and made sure to clarify our orders so no questions. The order was 100% accurate. We were all amazed because the food came out minutes after we ordered it. There is a large menu, and so many things that I wanted to try. I selected the Monte Cristo. It was good, tasty, warm, and about 1450 calories. Not the best one I have ever had, but very good. We also had a build your own omelette. It was ok. It seemed to be coated in a lot of butter and the avocado was on top, not inside, and too much spinach. Would not get that again. The egg breakfast looked ok, but I did not try that, not sure if the person who ordered it would order it again. My family and I are regulars at this Broken Yolk and this has been our favorite experience ever because of our server Godofredo! We love his personality and his service! We felt very welcomed and cared for throughout our entire meal even when he was busy running around the restaurant. Our food was delicious and we ate outside because of our service dog. Came here on a Sunday morning and it only took about a 5 minute wait to be seated for a party of 2. The restaurant was pretty busy, the waiters and waitresses were rushing about so it took quite a bit of time to order. We ordered the Hash Skillet (corned beef and hash browns) and the Biscuits and Gravy. The food was okay, I ordered an additional side of sausages since my dish only came with 2, and I ended up asking for two extra sides of gravy because I didn't think the dish came with enough. The biscuits really soak up the gravy and without the extra gravy it's a pretty dry bite. The Hash Skillet was okay, I wish the hash browns (in the Hash Skillet and also the Biscuits and Gravy) were grilled/fried more so it gave a crunchier texture. It was more so shredded potato. The waiter/waitresses were so busy that it took too long to even ask for a check so we had to bring it up to the front counter to pay out. The tables around us also had to do so, I only saw one waiter bring their table the check but they were seated in another area. I'm not sure if I just came here during peak hours, but it was literally all hands on deck with their crew. Everybody from the waiters/waitresses, bussers, hostess were hustling hard so it felt a little chaotic in there. The portions are huge, but they have a "small portions, small price" menu where I was able to get the special tres leches french toast and two pieces of sausage for half the price!
