We had an amazing breakfast at The Broken Yolk Cafe! I ordered the hash skillet and it was absolutely delicious--perfectly seasoned, hearty, and cooked just right. My husband went with the meat lovers omelet, and it was packed with flavor and generously filled with all the good stuff. I visited Broken Egg Yolk and ordered the Feta Avocado Toast, which comes with artisan bread, smashed avocado, arugula, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, and a balsamic drizzle. It was delicious -- I really enjoyed it. I added two poached eggs on top, and that made it even better and more filling. During a weekend trip to Las Vegas, we had brunch at the Broken Yolk Cafe. The go-to spot for breakfast and brunch has five locations in Las Vegas. We visited the Town Square location and while we waited for a table, we went shopping at the nearby Total Wines. The menu is extensive, but I loved that you could get a side of almost everything. I love to have sweet and savory so I was happy I could order my favorite avocado toast, but also satisfy my craving for pancakes! Although it was busy, the service was awesome. Arrived with a large group after leaving our luggage at the hotel. It was a little hard to find given we didn't know the area well. Plenty of parking shared with other businesses. Walked in with five adults and a kid. We opted to sit outside, it was a nice day. There was plenty of covered outdoor seating, and a lot of seating indoors. We picked this brunch spot for its proximity to the airport, for having vegan options, and of course for having a bar for the obligatory Bloody Mary. Both times, great food and great service. Frankly, it starts with the coffee. If the coffee is mellow and my cup is continually refilled, you are off to a great start. I ordered the classic eggs Benedict and my daughter ordered the 'small' cinnistack- a 'large' set of pancakes with cinnamon and icing drizzled over the top. Both were delicious. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was unfortunately the worst restaurant experience I've had all year. Our party of 3 came for breakfast and ordered cinna-cakes, the sweet French toast trio (with 3 small plates to share), machaca, the morning jam and gouda croissant, iced pineapple matchas, and a cocktail. I asked for no berries on the French toast trio and explained that I have a very strong aversion to them. The receipt even reflected "no berries." When the French toast arrived, I noticed that one option had raspberry sauce on it. I let the staff member know that I'd like it remade due to my berry phobia. He agreed with no issue, and I received a new order of it. The issue is that from that point forward, we were essentially ignored. Our server, Juan, didn't check on us once. He didn't stop by and check in, nor was he attentive to what we needed. He repeatedly checked on every table around us: Refilling water, asking if everything looked/tasted good, helping other guests, etc. while never once stopping at our table or even looking our way. I tried making eye contact with him/getting his attention several times, and he'd just walk by. My mom ran out of water and wanted to ask for salsa, (which she eventually asked someone for. We never saw that particular staff member again; she may have forgotten. Eventually, my mom asked someone else and was given salsa). Quite a while after that, Juan stopped by, gestured at the French toast, and said "No berries. Good." Then briskly walked off. I didn't even have a chance to respond or ask for anything. A bit after that, he returned with the 3 plates I'd requested when I placed the order. He hastily placed them down and again, quickly walked away. By then the French toast was completely cold, we had finished up, and we were ready to pay. I was attempting to communicate that we were ready for the bill when he walked away. I was baffled. The pancake at the bottom of my friend's pancake stack was burnt and inedible. Because we weren't checked on at any point throughout our meal, she couldn't mention it until the very end. The response was "Oh. Do you want us to remake it?" We'd been waiting to pay. She said it was okay because she didn't want to risk another lengthy wait. Mistakes happen, people have off days, and I'm not a high-maintenance customer. No one and no restaurant is expected to be perfect. Things happen and that's okay. The problem here lies solely in the blatant and consistent lack of service. Being visibly ignored while surrounding tables received attentive care was disappointing. On a positive note, the pineapple matches were enjoyable, and I really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich. The bacon jam was delicious, and my hashbrowns were nice and crispy. He checked on us and refilled our water and coffee without having to ask, our food came out quickly, hot and fresh! I ordered the Chilaquiles and at Joaquin's suggestion ordered it with half red sauce and half green sauce and ordered it with Barbacoa beef, it was delicious! My hubby ordered the chicken Fried Steak with Mexican Rice and eggs over easy and it also came with a pancake and he could choose whatever flavor he wanted with no up charge. He got the Lemon Riccota Blueberry pancake cause I wanted to try it. Hubby enjoyed his meal and we both loved the pancake. Didn't need any syrup, tasted good all by itself! The coffee!!!! Came to Broken Yolk for breakfast and somehow ended up staying for beers... My car was getting tinted nearby and I needed to kill time, but this place had other plans. Sat at the bar and immediately felt the vibe. The other customers were super friendly, and Alex behind the bar made it even better. He was personable, remembered names, and jumped into conversations when he had a second, but never overdid it. No lie, I looked at him at one point and thought... is this Tom Cruise in Cocktail? This guy was pumping out drinks like a madman. I had no idea a Wednesday morning could get this busy, but he handled it effortlessly. What really stood out was his balance. The portions are quite big! A neighboring table had a breakfast burrito and it was monster! The pancakes are delicious - fluffy and with a nice lemon flavor. It's lightly dusted with powdered sugar and topped with fresh blueberries. This was a really good dish! I would definitely order this again. The Country Skillet was a generous portion of sliced potatoes topped with eggs, ham, onion, green pepper, and country gravy. While it was a good dish, it didn't wow me like the pancakes did. I thought the gravy could have had more flavor and it was slightly clumpy/thick for my liking. All in all - for two people we were stuffed. I needed up swiping most of it off and ate it with ketchup instead. Maybe we just ordered all the wrong things. We also ordered 2 kids meals for $9.95 and it was pretty disappointing. My kids didn't finish their meal. I would recommend spilling an original dish with the two kids for a better bag for your buck. The lines moved fast. And the place bustled with morning rush rumble. We decided to do a casual Valentine's Day breakfast, and Broken Yolk did not disappoint. It surprisingly was not a very long wait despite the restaurant being very busy, and that is just a testament to the efficiency of their servers! Service was fast, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. The food was phenomenal as well. I ordered the try two benedicts with the smoked salmon and sope, my man got the chicken fried steak. My food was absolutely delicious and piping hot. I do think the meat on the sope kind of overpowered the rest of the Benedict, but it was still good. His steak was perfect. It was rich, comforting and perfectly crispy despite the thick, creamy white gravy. I also ordered a bellini, which was perfectly balanced and much larger than I usually get elsewhere.
