My husband really needed a massage after the long drive to Seaside. We were lucky to make a same day appointment, because Mary had openings. I decided to have a massage too. She worked miracles on both our backs! Her massage room was comfortable and clean and had an attached bathroom which is a great feature to maintain private facilities for the massage client. She kept conversation to a low chatter that we could zone in and out of. When she needed to, she'd check in about pressure. She even paused my husband's massage when he needed a water break and brought him cold filtered water in a regular glass cup (not a plastic disposable one.) Her waiting area is small but comfortable. I had a 90 min massage by Mary today. It was wonderful! I am used to having massage therapy every two weeks and havent been able to due to the pandemic. She was friendly and down to earth. Her salon is nice, clean, and cozy. She had very nice nature sounds playing. She worked on my body with skill and talent! I feel like a new women. My husband threw his back out while clam digging, and we found this place so he could enjoy our trip. Appointment was at 1, and he showed up on time, however he knocked, called, and no answer. He's a patient man so he waited and tried to contact her again until she picked up. Finally after 15 min she answered. She was with another client come to find out but the wait paid off! He said it was the BEST deep tissue massage he's ever had! For him that's a big deal. She apologized for the wait and said she's typically a "one woman" show. Been waiting at her door for over 25 minutes. Knocked on the door as directed. Called her. She sounded sluggish and high stating that she'd be out right away to open the door. Ten minutes later, I call again, confused as to if she was even there. She said she'd be up in a couple minutes. Ten more minutes, and she never opened the door. Not sure how she would have any kind of thriving business with this weirdness and unprofessionalism. I'll happily pay the extra to ensure the service. I get why she boasts about being the cheapest in town. I will add that she did try to call and offered to make it up to us, which was very kind, but sitting outside of her door for over half an hour with the weird communication was just too much. read more

Marys address has changed to 1960 S. Edgewood St. She is a wonderful massage therapist who really knows how to dig deep into all the muscles and nerves giving you a problem. Her place is super clean and she has a caring heart. I highly recommend her if you are in Seaside. I had a knee replacement and was struggling with a pinched nerve and some movement in certain areas. Mary helped open those areas up with her magic and I am able to stretch better and my mobility is improving. She is wonderful! read more

I did a quick trip to Seaside and called last minute - she was very gracious and arranged her schedule to accommodate me. I called up and got a same day appointment. I had some difficulty finding the location in the dark and drove around a few minutes because the location was different than my map showed. I arrived 10 minutes late but Mary was sympathetic and still gave me my full time, 90 minutes. Mary was very kind in starting with gentle pressure and worked slowly into deeper tissue. I developed a quick connection with Mary as we both lived in Wisconsin, the Green Bay Packers often have that effect on native Wisconsinites. I have had more than 30 deep tissue massages by different therapists; Mary's was by far the best massage I have had. I had never needed to ask a therapist to hold back before. It has been several weeks now and I still feel better than I did before. I am a tolerant person who enjoys public debates. Unlike those who have been assimilated by the Borg Collective, I understand the need to be able to empathize with both sides of an argument in order to truly debate it; therefore, I enjoyed talking with Mary and listening to her views. She also let me share my own. She was open to listening and I did not find her intolerant nor did I feel like she was judgmental towards my beliefs. She has the same freedom of speech that I have; in addition, I am in her home by my choice. She does like to talk while working, if that is not your bag, let her know before hand and I am sure she will accommodate that wish. I will not demonstrate my own judgmental attitude and intolerance by accusing Mary of being intolerant because she believes and views things differently than myself; after all, that's what freedom means. It makes us individuals. I appreciated that Mary was as devoted to her beliefs as much as she was devoted to giving attention to the work she did on me and the time she gave to me. You see, in Seaside we do things a little differently: we stroll on the beach and the Prom, we extend courtesy to tourists who are rude to us because they expect us to be uptight and tense like them, after all, they help drive our economy, we walk around town knowing it is faster than being stuck in a car behind a surrey built for 6 being peddled by 2, and we also understand that life doesn't always happen exactly on time. If people don't like this pace of beach life, they probably don't live here and shouldn't be so judgmental themselves. At least Mary did not cut my appointment short 10 or 15 minutes for my being late as would have surely happened in the "city" or other "more punctual" establishments. Might that extended time Mary gave me interrupt the schedule of the next client? Sure, but Mary did a great job and I was thankful that I got the full time for my money. A-Mazing!! Best massage ever. If you aren't scared of deep pressure, Mary is fantastic at getting to the hard to reach knots and working them out. She figures out instantly where your aches are coming from and works her magic. We were on vacation and ended up booking two times because we were so impressed with the first massage.
