Not sure if we were flimflammed or if the estimate of our landscaping job was so inaccurate the…read moretotal cost was $1200.00 more than the original estimated bill. We paid 1/2 the cost of the job 6/23/25 (original bid $2725), and date completed was 7/18/25....and this was not a big job. We have a small strip of backyard, maybe 15'x80' to be leveled with dirt and new sod placed. The workers were unreliable, they did not show up when scheduled and did not communicate until we reached out to them. They were not prepared, they dumped dirt in our backyard in the pouring down rain without tarps to protect from run off. My husband had to work the whole time they were here (and after they left) to cover the dirt with tarps and level off the ground for sod prep. One of the workers ran over our mailbox and didn't even tell my husband. I discovered it when I got home from work, he asked the workers about the mailbox, and the worker stated that he may have backed into it....too much! The extra charge of $1200 evidently was for the "miscalculation" of needed fill dirt. The dirt load they originally brought covered maybe 30% of the yard....I have pictures, that load did not cover much. Total job cost $3925.00.

They came and removed the old lawn (which was more dollar grass than lawn). They placed earth in the low spots, the next day they had pallets of sod delivered and immediately began installation. They moved sprinkler heads where needed, added extra heads to ensure the entire area was getting watered. Before they started work, we decided to have our 20 year old timer box replaced and now I can operate the watering from my cell phone. Kenny was very patient in teaching me how the app works. They removed the old sprinkler box and capped it off. I doubt if Yelp allows me enough characters to type out all of the great things that I have to say…read moreabout my experience with Paradise Outdoors. I had an old school, manual control irrigation system with a broken pump that had not been functioning since I purchased the house. I knew that several heads were broken and suspected several broken pipes underground. I called Kenny and he answered right away and came out the next day to diagnose and give me a quote. We decided to replace the pump and upgrade to a digital system. Kenny's team showed up a few days later and completed the pump install and digital conversion in just a few hours. After that was done, they powered it on and the fun began. They were able to quickly detect line breaks and repaired them with essentially zero damage to my recently laid sod. Kenny and his team helped me to determine which heads needed replacing and calibrated each one to ensure proper coverage. I no longer have to drag a hose and sprinkler around my entire lawn, but rather I can click a button on my phone app and watch the water show begin. Even better yet, I can let the system decide for itself when to water because of the automated program that Kenny set up that is based on weather conditions and previous rainfall amounts. Also, because of the pump, the water is "free" and no longer coming from the city water spigot attached to my house. My experience with Paradise Outdoors is probably the best experience I have ever had, with any contractor that I have ever hired to do any type of work, in three different homes/three different states over the past 20 years.

This go around, he assisted us with a solution for some rotting wood that supports our central/interior AC unit. He built an additional support to reinforce the area that the ac unit sits on which saved us a ton of money as we didn't need an ac company to come out and remove the entire unit in order for the rotting wood to be replaced. He also replaced an old ceiling fan for us. Matt is always kind and professional and he does great work. Enjoyed working with him again.
