My cat was their patients for many years. They told me they can do surgeries like urine blockage. My cat developed urine issues. I brought the cat on Monday for urine issue. Dr Chris checked my cat told me it is urine crystal blockage and changed the food. Did not help, I called on Friday and asked them for help. They told me for urine blockage take the cat to emergency clinic. It cost me $3500. Broderick Animal Clinic was lying to me that they can do surgeries. They are deceptive in everything. read more

READ BEFORE SPAY OR NEUTER. It has been a little over three months since adopting my kitten from Broadrick Animal Clinic. I had never heard of this animal clinic before, but one of my employees mentioned them to me because I said I was looking to adopt a kitten. She told me she takes her kitten to a nice vet in her hometown, but I still read their reviews. Most of them have to do with boarding pets so none of them were a red flag to me since I was not looking to board this kitten any time. A couple of things you NEED TO KNOW before taking your kitten or puppy to this vet to be spayed or neutered. 1. If you adopt from them (Broadrick Animal Clinic) the service (Spay or Neuter) will be FREE - normally they charge $255 (for a kitten) 2. They will NOT consult any type of practice with you regarding your pet's procedure; meaning they will schedule you a time for drop off and pick up. No other information is given 3. Your pet will HAVE to stay overnight with them. They do not give you the option to pick up your pet after surgery like a normal vet. They tell you to drop off your pet from 7am - 8am and then they will preform the surgery and call you around 12:00pm to let you know how the surgery went. You can pick your pet up the next day after 12:00pm. 4. They will send you home with a paper bag full of syringes loaded with pain medicine for your pet. I have never heard of giving animals 10mL of pain medicine every 12 hours a full day after surgery. 5. Your pet will have stitches/sutures on the outside of their abdomen. This is unsafe and unsanitary for so many reasons. Your pet will pick and lick at them every chance they get and over time they will rip out the sutures and the inside of their stomach will protrude, and their belly will bleed. Why would a medical professional (using the term professional loosely) give an animal sutures on the outside of their body. That is an infection begging to happen. Unless the goal is to cause your pet more pain so you would have to go back to them, and they will proscribe your pet more syringes full of medicine. 6. They will tell you to schedule an appointment to come back to the Animal Clinic in 10-14 days so they can remove the sutures. If you have a job and you don't have a significant other or a pet nanny, there will be no way for you to monitor your pet's activity or stop them from licking their wound. By about the 4th day your pet will have the sutures pretty much ripped out of their abdomen while you're either sleeping or at work. Was I supposed to sedate her the whole 10-14 days? If so, that is disgusting. 7. When you call their office to fix the situation they will have major attitude with you, or at least they did with me. To the woman with the combat boots, pasty skin, frizzy hair, glasses, and large tattoo on your arm; you made me so uncomfortable so I can't imagine how my 6-month-old kitten felt. I asked for the sutures to be taken out and for the open wound to be glued so she wouldn't have the opportunity to pick or pull at anything. This person asked me if I wanted her to take my kitten out of her carrier to take her back to the exam room or if I wanted her to take my kitten in the room via carrier. ?? So, I'm not sure if it is just but that question really sent me over the edge because it was such a dumb question. Why would you want to take a kitten (6 months old) with an open abdominal flesh wound out of her carrier in the LOBBY with people and animals everywhere versus taking her in the room via carrier? 8. They will NOT listen to you when you tell them to take the sutures out so they can glue the abdominal wound shut. They will say "We'll see what the doctor says" as they walk away with your pet to take them to the exam room. I was appalled by her lack of respect for myself and my kitten. 9. They will not allow you back into the exam room because they are TAKING YOUR PET'S SUTURES OUT AND STAPLING THEIR ABDOMIN SHUT WITH NO PAIN MEDICATION AND NO ANESTHESIA WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE OR CONCENT! 10. The vet will come out to speak with you and if you confront him (or her) they will get defensive immediately and blame the other vet. I asked the vet who TOOK MY KITTEN'S SUTURES OUT AND STAPLED HER STOMACH SHUT WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONCENT why he put her stitches on the outside versus in inside before consulting with me. He said he doesn't do that and "other vets just prefer to do it that way". Why didn't anyone consult with me what was going to happen before hand? Disgusting. No real answers were given, I just got the run around. I asked if he glued her abdomen shut or if he could sew her shut on the inside and he said he stapled it shut instead because "she would have needed to be sedated first" for him to be able to put the sutures on the inside. AM I SLOW, OR DID YOU JUST STAPLE MY KITTENS ABDOMEN SHUT WITH NO PAIN MEDICINE OR ANESTHESIA? I guess I didn't realize SIX LARGE STAPLES were a better option. DISGUSTING. read more

It took a long time and a lot of searching to find the right "fit" for a new medical and grooming home for my sassy male kitty. Mr. Sophie is 20 pounds and super fiesty, however he was no match for the super kind, friendly, and good humored doctors at this pet clinic. It feels so good to know that my giant furball is well taken care of when I bring him in for his annual exams and to get groomed. I would highly recommend this pet clinic and their grooming services for all of your fur babies. I'm so glad I found them! read more

I don't like to be a negative person, but I have to vent about this. We have been going to Broderick Animal Clinic for 30 years and always had a positive, yet sometimes sad visits. The worst was last Friday when we took our 11-year-old Cavalier for what we thought might have been a stoke. Dr.Schroeder came out and talked with us and he was very compassionate with us, told us the truth about Joe, that he had congestive heart failure and it was very hard for him to get any oxygen. He did explain that the next few hours were critical if he even made it that far. We made the decision to put him down so he would not be in any more pain, as the prognosis was not good. As sad as that time was, later that day, I received an email from Broderick's letting me know that Joe was due for his shots. Seriously..... I already made an appointment for him and Ben both back in July but they could not get them in until the end of September. But now Joe is no longer with us and they sent that about 5 hours after he had passed away. And I got another email that same day again about Joe's shots. I realize that these were probably automated, but when I went in today to pick up Joe's remains, I told them that I thought it was very insensitive of them to send that out the same day he was put down. I really expected them to apologize for that and let me know that is was an automated system. And really just say they were sorry that it happened. But no, the first thing they said was it's not us, it is automated and they couldn't do anything about it. Still never had any compassion for us, that was a raw day and we didn't need a reminder that our pet who was no longer alive needed his shots. The office staff there needs some compassionate training and quit pointing the blame to someone else. The staff there are the ones who initiated the automated notice, the staff there can cancel the automated notices. The Doctors seem to be compassionate, but the office staff can ruin their business unless they learn the proper way of handling situations. Being a 30 year customer, over 10 dogs, we thought we should have been treated just a little better. Even if we were a new customer, I feel this should have been handled much better. I believe it is time to look for another DVM for our other pets. read more

Beware of the grooming service here. My cat has been getting groomed since he was born because he is a Ragdoll and has lots of fur at times. I took him there for grooming and brought him home with Horner's Syndrome, diagnosed by my veterinarian who has known him since he was born. He came out of his cage not able to walk without falling down, blinded in one eye and trouble hearing. He has no history of illness. He has gotten better over the last two weeks, $400 later. The groomer there will not even contribute to the costs to treat. read more

John Broderick and the team there have taken care of my dogs for 14 years and kept them in perfect health. When I call the front desk and identify myself they know my dogs' names without checking. John cried with me when we finally had to put my Jenny down. I don't know what more I could want in a Vet. read more

Dr John has been my family's vet for over 10 yrs. I used to have a Rottweiler and Dr. John was the only vet that my dog would deal with without a muzzle. Since then, I have brought my two other dogs and cat to him and his service is beyond exemplary. I recently had to put one of those dogs down due to bone cancer and can say, without a doubt, he was almost as sad as I was! If you are looking for a vet that will care as much about your animals as you do, I can't recommend Dr John and Broderick Animal Clinic enough! read more

We had been clients for 2+ years when they refused to see me dog even though she was peeing blood. She had been into their clinic twice in 10 days for the same thing and then they refused to see her even though we told them we were leaving town and were in an emergency situation. They said to call back in the morning and they would see if there was an opening!! I asked what they do in an emergency if a dog was dying and the receptionist said "well is she dying" OMG -- how would I know that, that is why I needed to see a Vet!!! I called the new Vet clinic down the road 1 mile, they got my dog right in, did an xray and a through exam and got my dog on the correct meds. They even offered to drive to the kennel where I was going to Board her since they were full up for Spring Break. I will never go back to Brodericks! read more
