They came home with kennel cough. When we picked them up they were coughing and wheezing and hacking. We knew instantly something was wrong. The employees at Gracies place said nothing. Having never experienced kennel cough before I did not know what was wrong with them. I brought them to the vet and she confirmed our suspicions. My dogs had contracted kennel cough at Gracies place. They knew they had boarded dogs with kennel cough they said nothing. They gave no notice to us. Provided us with no information that they were exposed to kennel cough even after hearing them hacking and coughing and wheezing when we picked them up. I called to let them know that they had an extremely contagious disease at their location. They said that they knew. They offered no credit towards our boarding with them and no compensation for the $240 vet bill.Even though my dogs got sick hear it appeared to be a new facility.

The facility is incredibly clean--it's obvious that cleanliness is a top priority, and they're constantly keeping everything in great condition. Otis has struggled with separation anxiety, but by his third day at daycare, everything changed. Now he gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot and doesn't even look back at drop-off. That alone says everything about how comfortable and happy he is there. He comes home completely worn out from playing all day, which we love. We actually drive 25 minutes out of the way just to bring him here, and it is worth every single minute. I visited almost every daycare in town before choosing Unleashed Pets, and I can confidently say this is the best one. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place they can truly trust with their dog.

I am traveling with my new kitten and she got diarrhea and I had to take her to the ER. She is fine now but I wanted to get her a bath before driving back to Iowa city. The kind woman on the phone said they do not take kittens but would be happy to help if Alicia the groomer consented. She did, so I brought my kitten mango in. Not only were they so gentle and kind, they made sure to get to know mango and my's backstories. I even heard the groomer make it a point to meet the parents of other dogs she has just groomed to ensure she was 100% happy. I was nervous mango wouldn't like it, but she was so calm and sweet with them. I expected to pay about $20.... but nope! FREE OF CHARGE because all they wanted was for mango to get home okay. Goodness. Truly great people. This place needs more reviews and I would recommend 100% P.S mango says thanks!!

I recently had the absolute pleasure of touring the Lakota Creek Kennels in Indianola, Iowa, and…read morewas thoroughly impressed with their facilities and their owner, Josh Judge. First, Josh is a very pleasant and personable professional trainer who has built a following by offering exceptional services. He is a current military man and an ex-law enforcement officer who has traveled to several countries to study and improve his dog training techniques. I spent several hours with Josh as he explained his philosophies and successful methods of dog training. I have met many dog trainers both in person and through the internet, but Josh has an honest and straightforward approach that really appeals to me! Next is the facility. It is a modern, free-standing building that was designed and constructed for the specific purpose of boarding and training dogs. It has plenty of lighting, both natural and artificial, huge environmental heating and cooling equipment, and large kennels with ample space to house his dogs as well as a system of drains that make it easy to keep the areas clean. There were quite a few dogs there at the time of my visit and the place smelled very clean, a testament to his attention to his charges and the maintenance of the facility. Sadly, I live too far away to take advantage of his services, but I would highly recommend Josh and his services to anyone seeking a safe, sanitary and comfortable place to train and board their dogs!
