My second appointment for an eye infection. The first appointment went fine. I noticed each…read morelocation has a chart behind the receptionist telling patients which doctors are seeing patients and whether they are on time or running late and by how much. The chart had the dr 'on time'.Today my appointment was for 10:30 and the doctor did not come in until 11:36, and that was after I stuck my head out the door. And no apology or explanation- which goes a long way. A simple; I'm sorry, we are running late; or thank you for your patience would have been quite fine. Then it seemed the dr could not have moved faster to get me out as quickly as possible; not talking through my eye concerns, but referring me to another dr (!) ( who will not be in touch with me for a couple of weeks). Because the infection continues- the dr asked me what I wanted to do. I took a moment to say; "Um, you are the doctor, I am the patient." I mean- I did read up on glaucoma and uveitis and look at the model of the eye during my long wait- but that doesn't add up to a medical degree in ophthalmology, does it? On the way out, I told the check- out person that the chart should be corrected to say the dr was running 60 minutes behind and she glared at me. Hopefully, I will see the specialist soon and then find another eye practice for routine annual checks.

So, this was my experience: I arrived at the office approx. 10 min. early. So, I approached the counter, and just as I was getting my paperwork together, the secretary said: 'NAME!' A few seconds later she yelled it out again, and I told her: "I HEARD YOU!! GIMME A CHANCE TO ANSWER HON, RELAX." (because sheh wasn't being patient with me. Give people a chance to respond, before ya keep repeating yaself.) So, after I handed her my new patient forms, she pulleduup on her computer, my insurance info, and she said: 'It looks like we do not accept your insurance. You said you have Health Wellness...?' So, I said: "Yep! And Health Partners Medicare." Her response was: 'Unfortunately, it looks like we do not accept your insurance here, unless you wanna just be seen as (pay as you go(?) I can't remember the terminology, but she was alluding to my being treated, if I wanted to be seen there as a new patient, without coverage.) So, I told her: 'Nah, nah-no. I have another Dr.'s appt. anyway, I'll just go to that one. It's fine." Now... I was plenty polite, and I left. So... I remembered after I left, that they had never called me in the month prior to my appt., that they didn't accept my insurance. So, I said to her after I returned to the window: " Ya know, nobody ever called me to tell me that my insurance wasn't accepted. And I was under the impression that it was accepted, when I made my appt., here." She said: 'It looks like somebody may have tried to reach you, but it was too little too late...' Now... here's what the whole snod damn problem is: I despise having my time wasted bg some clown Dr's. office, and getting sent on some wild goose chase, without any common courtesy or forethought to informing me that my insurance isn't accepted. And the other reason why I'm pissed off with clowns like this, is because they need to get their sh** together, as a professional outfit, and cut the bullsh. People don't all day taking houses out of their merry way to make needless doktors trips, for no reason. What sloppy customer service--and it's a show of real arrogance to March a patient with health problems l the way out of his/her merry way, FOR NO REASON!! MORONS!!!! Wake uo, and get ya sh** t'getha. Seriously. I don't appreciate being made a fool out of, just because yer too haughty to make a courtesy call, to let me know as a VALUED PATIENT, that my insurance isn't accepted--which yiz should have informed me of, WHEN I CALLED OVER A MONTH AGO!! Very bitterly disappointed, AND insulted. No good.

My dad recently had surgery preformed by this practice. He's been a long time patient and…read moreattending his surgery and post op appt were the only experiences I personally have had with them. I personally think his doctor is a little dry. There really isn't a greeting or small talk conversation, he comes in the room and dives right in. My father likes this approach. For me personally a "hello, how are you doing" at the very minimal is expected. However the doctor did address all of concerns and when my dad expressed his difficulty in administering his own drops the doctor showed him techniques that might be helpful. My father however is often dissatisfied with the office staff and how his calls are handled (or not handled). I know he bounces around his topics when communicating and it is difficult to follow along so that might be the issue. From my only experience being witness to this the staff was cordial, but didn't go beyond that to try to make sense of what he was trying to relay. According to my father when he had medication refill issues he was bounced around their office and had to get resolution from the pharmacy. He was also directed by them when he had questions on his aftercare to call the surgery center although it was a doctor at this practice that would have the answers. The office space is clean and set up nicely with complimentary coffee and tea. It's located in an office complex on Oregon Pike which in recent years has really been built up. Due to traffic allow extra time to get to your appt as his ran right on time. So while the experience wasn't horrible I do feel the staff needs additional training on how to better deal with elderly patients, especially at their most vulnerable.

When we went to pick up our glasses about 3 weeks later, both pair were made wrong. The prescription was entered incorrectly on both. Also, the pupillary distance was wrong on both. We then dealt with a different lady who told us that the girl we originally dealt with was fired. She assured us the problems with our glasses were taken care of and would be back to us quickly. After 2 more weeks, we went back and surprise, surprise, both pair were still wrong. Both pair were sent out again. 2 more weeks and my wife got her glasses back. They were finally correct. My order somehow had the wrong style of lenses made for the frame I chose. I waited 2 more weeks. Went back for my glasses and I had a pair of glasses with the correct lenses installed in them. When I tried them on, the prescription was STILL wrong! Against my better judgement, I was promised that this time my glasses will finally be fixed correctly. I waited while 2 different ladies measured and remeasured. After 2 more weeks, I got a call saying my glasses were ready. I waited while they searched for my order. Then I was handed a pair of glasses that I had never seen before. The frames were not even close to what I chose. To the point that they wouldn't even stay on my face and were totally uncomfortable. At this point, I demanded a refund. I got the refund but, I used insurance on my original purchase. I'm still waiting to see if I'm reimbursed for that. I can not stress enough to anyone reading this....DO NOT waste your time and money going here. The employees are rude, condescending, and completely inept. No one has a clue what they're doing. I waited over 3 months for new glasses. I lost money because I had to take off work to go pick up my glasses. Now I can't even go anywhere else because my insurance benefit for the year has already been used. All I can hope is that this place goes out of business before more people have the same experience as me. Definitely the worst experience I've ever had. Just a total disappointment. MyEyeDr SUCKS!!!!
