This place is pathetic! My son received his glasses in May. Upon pick up a dot was placed on his…read morelens and my lens. No vision test was done when we picked up for neither of us. My son goes to his PCP and they give him an exam. His test wasn't 20/20 but 20/35 and 20/30. I text this office and received a text back claiming they were waiting on the dr. A worker than calls me and tells me that we were supposed to come back in after pick up of glasses but nobody told us anything. They just give out glasses before retesting you and allowing you to go home with them. I was then told I would have to repay for glasses and I told the first worker that shouldn't be right due to them not testing us and because the prescription is way off and nowhere near 20/20. She said well if your insurance covers it we'll bill them first even after they know they messed up. (Fraud practices!) She cuts me off and places Patricia on the phone. When I explain to Patricia about our experience she proceeds to tell me that I'm confused because that's not what's done when you pick up. I told her 8xs what was done at pick up time. A dot was placed on the lens and we were asked if we were good. I said we were good because the dots matched our pupil level when we picked up glasses. Patricia then goes to say "Oh so you said they were good." Then I told her stop playing condescending games with me. First you're saying that I'm lying about a marker being placed on the middle of the lens upon pick up because that wasn't supposed to happen at pick up but in the beginning when we pick out glasses. She didn't want to admit the worker was wrong by testing our glasses with a marker at pick up. We never even went back in because we weren't told to make another appointment to test glasses. We have no follow up appt in that system but instead of her to checking she continues to play games. Instead we were told we were good as long as the marker point matched our pupil. Then after I asked what are we going to do then to Patricia because I need to call home office about this issue if she was going to keep playing condescending games on the phone. She proceeds to tell me I am speaking to home office. They had us pay and wear glasses that weren't even the proper prescription since May and when my son was tested this is how they treat you as if you have time to play condescending games with their workers that play as home office. I was told I would now have to deal with the owner. Mind you the first worker said she's getting the manager on the phone. Patricia got on the phone and was allowed to play condescending games, manager and a home office employee. To the owner you owe both our insurance company money and I will be filing a grievance with the insurance company due to Patricia thinking this was ok. Their glasses come back from the lab useless for adults and children. My sons and my glasses both are totally wrong prescription. File a grievance with your insurance company! Also file BBB complaint. After reading reviews this behavior and customer service is normal practice for them them. Report them until they get it together. The shouldn't be charging any insurance company when they clearly are in the wrong. Edit: the Dr. also calls you back after you leave an honest review and accuses you of calling their rude disrespectful condescending employees bad words instead of taking accountability. He couldn't even talk he was suffering stuttering lol. He also said he's the only one that accepts AmeriHealth Insurance for children in the area and good luck on finding someone else who accepts it. THIS IS WHY THEY DELIBERATELY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH AmeriHealth this way. But it's a lie because AmeriHealth just sent a whole list of providers in our area lol. Make sure you leave a review on the Better Business Bureau also so they can track how he expects Medicare to cover his screw ups. They delete reviews on google. Oh and after dealing with the owner the Dr Yealy yesterday afternoon I woke up to 5 fraud transactions on my credit card they now are investigating. Also, if you have AmeriHealth and they tell you that you have to pay a $40 co-pay, that's a lie! They're hustling you into a more pricey frame.

It took repeated treatments over many months to get rid of, so out of consideration and not wanting to infect others I was not able to schedule my second surgery. Finally I was able to schedule it and right before the surgery my daughter suddenly passed away from cancer. I canceled the surgery and would have rescheduled it. I think your child dying is a reason to temporarily cancel scheduled surgery for a cataract. But this Dr. Benz called me screaming at me that I canceled the surgery, never asked me why and told me not to come back that he was sick of me. Thank you Dr. BENZ and Eyes of York for your brutality, lack of decency, I guess greed comes before even the death of your child. I guess I should have gone down with the C-diff and infected everyone. What a monster.

And had both lenses replaced by Dr. Rommel 2 years ago. The nurse assistants and Dr. Rommel are not only very good at their jobs but are very personable and appear to take an actual interest in the patient's well-being throughout each visit. The advice and suggestions for my better eye health and general health (at my age of 81) that they offer are both intelligent and helpful. I cannot imagine any better eye care anywhere than I get at Manning & Rommel Associates. Note: The "review mafia" must have put this place on their "hit-list" for some reason. None of the "no stars" reviews are valid, in my opinion. Seems like some of them were meant for another practice and submitted here in error. Only one of the bad reviews names a Dr. in this practice, so that one's probably in the intended place.

My appt. with Dr. Thode was scheduled for 3:15 pm - I sat in that office for "2 hours" before I even got to see the eye doctor and most of that time was in the exam room, That is ridiculous - I saw people come in after me, get treated and leave before me. When I left the office it was near closing time and there were no other patients in the reception area. To make things worse, no apologies from anyone! I only went back to that practice because of a recommendation from my eye doctor, but never again!!! I hope Thode sees this because him and his staff need to do better.

Melissa did a STELLAR job helping me select, deselect, and select again the best glasses I had from you know...the 10 plus pairs I liked lol. She was patient, and thorough...knew her stuff! I called America's Best and obviously gave them a rave review! My glasses arrived the day before shutdown due to the COVID19 virus. Unfortunately, two of the same exact pairs were in the bag. No big deal I knew that they would take care of this up reopening. So yesterday I called in, their first day back (04/03/20) and talked with Cindi- Super awesome by the way. I can't even express her generosity...not only did she reorder, but she also included anti-glare on the lens for free along with another VERY VERY generous act. I was legit in tears...she was so catering and loving- I was beside myself. We NEED more people in our world like this! Better yet, she even expressed how she wanted to pay it forward, to help during this time of unknowns and worries. I've been around the Lancaster area in retirement finding a good optician to prescribe and educate…read moreme. I use progressive lenses as do most people at my age, and there is a lot to think about to optimize the lens for your eyes. A chain location at Park City who makes lenses on site really didn't have the technology - or at least the optician couldn't explain or find information on the technology - used in their lens manufacturing for progressives. no go! I'm an engineer, I researched the science, how to prescribe, what to measure and which lens types are best suited for needs. I want the optician to be at least as well educated as I made myself. My current lenses have issues; additionally current frame was a bad choice for my active lifestyle - optician should have cautioned me at least. This time I was super careful. I also nixed another private eyecare professional for not even having the equipment to properly measure the lenses they were recommending to me, essentially selling me an expensive custom tuxedo rather than a standard suit, without taking my precise size measurements. Crystal at Jacobson was educated, thorough, and above all understanding of my incessant questions (hey, I'm an engineer armed with data) and had the right, honest explanations when I was playing dumb. I give her a gold star for just spending the necessary time with me to make me happy without a grumble or even an attitude. Wow. I also appreciated when she was honest and tactful in explaining any misconceptions I had. Gotta love the truth. Now to be fair, at the time I right this I have not received the lenses. I am probably not able to comment on the quality of the lenses themselves without comparing them to less quality products simultaneously. But we took the time necessary to make the best possible outcome. So...I had a great experience and I hope you do too. And beware some other eyeglass providers in Jacobson's market who just want to use all the 'default' measurements for your personal eyes. It isn't rocket science but care is required. Good luck!
