Brocca Antica is a rustic Italian restaurant in the heart of St Margarets village, Twickenham. On the night we dined we were seated in the downstairs part of the restaurant. It has a romantic cosy feel with exposed brick and soft lighting. Brocca staff are very friendly and attentive. We chose a starter of tomato, mozzarella with aubergine and rocket. The tomato and the aubergine, which was served warm, was dressed in a sweet vinaigrette. Unlike similar starters, Brocca's dish had an earthiness and depth of flavour that partnered excellently with the tomato and mozzarella. For mains I had the Sicilian soup which consisting of langoustine, mussels, squid and monk fish set in a rustic red, tomato and olive based broth served with flat bread. Very tasty, and satisfying although it does pack quite a salty punch. Desserts equally as good, although the stand out in this meal was definitely the starter. It has a lovely cosy ambience and is an all-round good eatery. read more
