As tradition usually has me visiting at least one Italian spot for any extended trips, Piazza Firenze passed the torch with good food and experience all around.
Some tried the soups, and they liked them. I'm usually going in a different direction: bruschetta if possible. A colleague joined me, and the mozzarella didn't disappoint.
For whatever reason, I got the burrata to myself. It was fabulous so everybody missed out. Way better than that soup in my opinion, with all due respect to soup.
The pizza was tasty (tried another's) but I was excited to see duck on the menu. It was perfectly baked with a lovely cranberry red wine reduction.
If you're looking for a meal for 2 or 3 go with the beef stroganoff, because I was surprised it could fit on the table. Nobody could finish it, so take heart.
The Malbec was nice, and apparently so were the other selections. I didn't get dessert because of peer pressure (no actually that usually goes the other way as I persuade the non-eaters to partake). I'd hope to return if my journeys help a return to Teddington. read more
