In my book Bryan Mclelland is a 5 Star Oral Surgeon…read more Earlier this year my wife had implants surgically inserted. It first involved grafting bone to her jaw to hold the implants in place; a couple months later the implants were surgically inserted into her jaw. Bryan Mclelland performed the surgery. His nurse and assistants are pretty incredible as they assisted during the surgery. The implants fit perfectly and everything went great! My personal experience was equally as good. My dentist referred me to Bryan because it looked like I had a small crack in one of my teeth. He thought it should be pulled. After looking at the Xray Bryan suggested we watch it for six to twelve months and then determine if it needed to be pulled. It's refreshing to hear that I could just wait and see what happens, I might never need to have it pulled. I felt like Bryan really cares about his patients, its not all about the money! I can't believe anybody would give Bryan anything less than 5 stars! - Richard Brantley, Spokane Valley

I Dr. McLelland!…read more I'm so pleased with he & his staff, you better pack a lunch for this one! I went in, scared to death about needing oral surgery, and I came out with this five-star review! Dr. McLelland was the third oral surgeon I had gone to after meeting 2 doctors in CDA who I just wasn't feeling: I liked the doctor but not the front office and vice versa. With Liberty Oral Surgery, I loved both. Let's start with Dr. McLelland. In a word: fantastic! He has such a great bedside manner and inspired confidence that put me at ease instantly. I was extremely apprehensive about having a tooth pulled and an implant installed but he put all my fears to rest. He listened to my concerns and clearly explained my care plan. He's also just a super nice guy who takes pride in what he does. The day of my both surgeries, I was greeted by his fabulous staff who were efficient and friendly and put me at ease: Briget, Denise, Megan, & Katie. Dr. McLelland explained my post-op instructions for successful results and they have been! He also called after each surgery to check on me. Who even does that anymore?! At my follow-up appointments, I had the pleasure of meeting Cliff & Staci, who both went out of their way to put me at ease about my progress. His front office is also awesome. Terri, the Finance Manager, was approachable and walked me through a cost breakdown. She clearly explained where my benefits would apply and was timely in terms of submitting my claim. I loved that there were no surprises when all was said & done. I live in CDA and Liberty Oral Surgery is in Post Falls. Not a huge distance but 100% worth the drive. I recommend Dr. McLelland 110% to anyone who needs an extraction or an implant.

I was recommended by my dentist, Dr. Wilson of Sodorff & Wilson, for my gum grafting. From the moment I interacted with the receptionist and all through my initial appointment, it was very apparent to me that everyone here is both personable and opinionated. That can make one feel both uncomfortable as well as more connected and aware. So it's a good and a bad thing depending on how you look at it. If you like the customer service facade of many medical practices then this may not enjoy your experience here. Dr. Nygaard and her assistant are both very experienced and very opinionated women and they don't hold back on bringing up their critique on your health, even in areas you didn't come in to talk about. I will disclaim that while this may have been a bit more stimulating emotionally then I bargained for, it ultimately is not something I dislike; I appreciate that the medical world is in flux and filled with new research and approaches, so I find it refreshing and valuable to have real discussions with my doctors. I want to talk to my regular dentist about some of the things Dr. Nygaard recommended as far as my dental hygiene (she told me to try switching to a different toothbrush, changing my brushing technique) because I was given some ideas I have never heard before. Anyway, I think there is a wholistic health approach here, for sure. And it makes you feel like Dr. Nygaard is very very passionate about what she does and she is really thinking about you as an individual. That being said, I can see why some people have a negative experience. Most important, Dr. Nygaard is amazing at what she does. My gum graft looks so good. I was really nervous about the cosmetic aspect of it and I couldn't be happier. I would recommend coming here. I do agree that the receptionist shouldn't be bringing up irrelevant personal topics with patients and that this office should definitely address that, but it just isn't a significant enough factor for me. I fully trust Dr. Nygaard's surgical abilities.

When you have to visit an oral surgeon, you are frequently in pain and looking for relief. After…read morebeing in pain over the weekend, then seeing my dentist, being referred to an endodontist for a root canal which didn't work because my tooth was cracked below the gum line, and then being referred to Dr. Skinner, I was looking for some major pain relief. Luckily my tooth extraction only needed a local anesthetic so I turned up for my appointment on time and was greeted warmly by the receptionist. I filled out the covid paperwork, had my temperature taken and then after a short wait I had an x-ray taken and then I was taken back to where the oral surgeon was going to work his magic. Kayla, the dental assistant, got me situated, did all the necessary prep work and answered any of my questions. She was very efficient, concerned for my well-being and made me feel quite comfortable and less concerned about the procedure. After I was given the numbing agent, I relaxed for about twenty minutes as my mouth went numb. When Dr. Skinner came back in to remove the tooth, I was almost asleep. In less than a minute, he had removed the tooth, almost painlessly. All I felt was a slight tug as the tooth came loose. Within another couple of minutes I had all the necessary equipment and information to keep my mouth hygienic and I was out of there (after paying the down payment on the bill which was very reasonable). I hope I don't have to visit him again but if I have to I will not hesitate to use Dr. Skinner again.

My molar had a failed root canal and was cracked and needed to come out. For those complaining because it only took 5 mins. and you paid a grand, be happy! I paid the same and got to enjoy about 20 minutes of cracking, crunching and pulling. It was my choice because I only wanted a local anesthetic and was awake. Doc Skinner did the deed and prepped the socket for an implant sometime down the road. He knows what he is doing and it's worth it. Staff have always been friendly and helpful.

In other words, I had upper jaw surgery because my jaw was very poorly aligned. I was told for years that I needed to get the treatment and was incredibly reluctant because of the time, braces and cost. However, I ultimately decided to pursue treatment. It has been due to the professionalism and service of Dr. Lang and the entire SOMFS team, that I am willing to fly back and forth between New York City and Spokane, WA to receive treatment. Over the last few years, Dr. Lang has been gracious, helpful and considerate when answering my questions (via email, phone and in person consultation) and the SOMFS team was extremely helpful when it came to scheduling the surgery, dealing with insurance (which was a nightmare...but ultimately we prevailed) and treating me with respect and care during and after the surgery. The surgery was successful and the advice and care I received in the months following my surgery has been extremely thorough. Long story short, if you need any sort of oral or maxillofacial surgery, SOMFS is the place to go. The price is right, the care is great and the doctors and staff are top notch.

The woman handling insurance was rude and shouted at me. She also missed insurance coverage. I have the comprehensive dental coverage, not the limited. Included in this coverage is 50 percent payment for an implant. My Medical used to cover implants but that coverage has been transferred to the dental plan. She rudely refused to call the insurance companies. Because of her stubbornness, I would have had to pay $2700 before the procedure. At another oral surgeon's office, My cost will be $200 dollars to have the tooth removed and only 50 percent for the cost of an implant. That is a big difference in my payment for services. Because of allergies, I need antibiotics and pain medication compounded. I told both Dr Skinner and his assistant at the same time, that the prescription needed to be sent to the compounding pharmacy one week before surgery. Because of pain I asked that the tooth be removed as quickly as possible. The scheduler told me she would send a note to the assistant for my antibiotic to be sent to the pharmacy.I called the pharmacy two days in a row to see if the script was there. It wasn't. The pharmacist called the office and was told there was no order. Because of the insurance difficulties causing me to pay an inordinate amount of money, lack of professionalism, and the inability for me to feel comfortable that I would have an antibiotic at the time of surgery, I left to have the service performed at another office.

I had a…read moregood size piece of tissue removed from my inner cheek that was close to my lip, didn't hurt or really bother me but was annoying. Went in for consult, they told me my out of pocket would be $500, and my medical would cover rest (approx. $350). I was told they had called both dental and medical coverage providers and medical was best way to go. Absolutely my fault for not checking and making sure this was done/true but I paid the $500 and then received a bill for the balance several months later after my medical denied the claim. Called medical, they said they had never received a call and had they, they would have advised them that this oral surgeon was not in my network so I had $1,100 ded that would not be met so there would be no coverage. Absolutely my fault for not calling myself (is it sad that I'm almost 40 and have never used my medical coverage for other than doctors visits so had no idea?) and I can understand them not telling me about the in/out of network because they wanted the business (procedure would have been 100% covered had I used an in-network provider), but having no grounds to verify that my medical would cover the $350, I do feel I was lied to. When I called Skinners office to inquire I was told it was my responsibility to call my medical provider to confirm and they would set up payment plan for me - gee thanks. Watch out for this office, they do not have your best interest in mind.
