I was thinking "I thought I had excellent insurance thru Delta, but maybe I was wrong" She kept pushing "pay the amount and you will be all set, your pain will be gone and the work will be complete" I felt like I was at a used car dealership, I'm in sales and recognized the sales techniques. Against my better judgement I had the work performed. The assistant Michael was very polite and caring, the dentist was nice, it was a tough extraction but she did it successfully. The next day, after the fog wore off I checked with Delta Dental Insurance and discovered MY INSURANCE WOULD COVER 80-90% OF THIS SERVICE.!!!! Also, the Delta Rep told me the maximum reasonable and customary allowance was around $770.00. THEY CHARGED ME DOUBLE.!!!! (They did give me a small discount $141.00) which I appreciated. How can a business do this to a customer???? How can they sleep at night treating people this way????? My primary dentist I go to in Riverview is SO awesome and ethical. She charges the required amount and does not over-sell you on anything. Maybe I got spoiled. Please beware. My first impression was that Teri had everything completely under control, and Dr. Arnold seemed like a somewhat nerdy surfer guy who really knew his stuff. There is nothing better than a practitioner who "nerds out" on what he does - you know he's passionate about it. I immediately liked them both. Over the years, I grew alongside the practice. Despite expanding, adding another office, and relocating to Brandon, Dr. Arnold, Teri, and the rest of the staff remained exactly what made them special from the beginning: grounded, professional, caring, and genuinely invested in my dental health. They always worked with me as partners to achieve the best possible outcomes. In many ways, they felt more like friends than healthcare providers. One thing that always impressed me about Dr. Arnold is his honesty. He doesn't sugarcoat anything--you get a straightforward assessment of your condition and the available options. New patient here and I have so many good things to say I could cry!…read more I admit, My dental history isn't the greatest and I now have a bunch of old dental work that is failing me years later. Dental procedures have always been on the back burner for me unless completely necessary. Today's initial overview of my dental health contained everything under the sun: Cavities, swollen gums, fillings that were cracked, bite issues, questionable bridge work...you get it. Basically a 4/10. I got X-rays and tons of "before" photos/scans with cool high tech equipment, Hygienist came in and did her thing as well. After the doctor reviewed everything, she gave me my options of highest priorities to take care of and what they could get done while I was there. Today I got a deep cleaning on my right side and afterwards got a TON of mini fires put out on my right upper teeth. It was a marathon appointment. They worked quick and although I was there for a few hours, they really fixed so many years of neglect. I couldn't be more grateful to them. I've already called friends and told them they need to switch to this dental office. I have never experienced better customer care in my life. The sweetest staff you can find and that is especially important when you have 'dental insecurities'. I have a few more appointments to go to get to that healthy smile, but I am so excited I found these guys and just trusted the good reviews. I thought all day about writing this for them because they truly deserve every good praise in my opinion. Side notes: The building is beautiful! Make sure you follow their parking instructions so you can get validated parking. They bought me a smoothie because they knew I'd be hungry being there for that long. BEWARE OF OVERCHARGING!…read more I strongly recommend that any patient here carefully compare every charge to their insurance EOB. Do not assume the billing is accurate without verifying it yourself! After personally reconciling the office's patient ledger to my insurance Explanation of Benefits, I found over $5k in billing discrepancies. Line by line, I found charges that exceeded the insurance-allowed amounts. For example, one visit was billed at $467, while the allowed amount was $251. These differences were not minor--they added up to a substantial overpayment! What's troubling is that these discrepancies were not identified or corrected by the office. I had to do the reconciliation myself and bring it to their attention. After submitting detailed documentation, including a very detailed and thorough spreadsheet, persistent follow ups and ultimately escalated to take legal action until I finally received a partial refund, well beyond the expected timeframe. Even now, the amount is not fully resolved, and $252 remains in dispute. When billing discrepancies of this size only come to light after a patient conducts their own detailed audit--and then require weeks of pressure to partially correct--it raises serious questions about billing accuracy and internal oversight. Also want to note that they require full payment for procedures up front and don't take in account estimated insurance proceeds. As a result, I ended up over paying by more than $10k! What makes this whole situation worse is that I used to really like this office, had a lot of trust and respect for them but the way I've been treated ever since I started questioning the charges has done a complete 180. They consistently made me feel like a burden and the "bad guy". They did not take accountability at all for the issue and continue to argue with me with no substantial back up. Regarding the actual dental work I received - when I went in to switch out my temporary crowns to the permanent ones (I got crowns on almost all my top teeth), I really didn't like them and weren't like the temporary ones I was wearing for a few weeks. I was almost in tears trying to advocate for myself before they permanently cemented them. They made me feel bad for sending them back, I'm so glad I got the courage to speak up and not accept something I did not like. Ultimately after the second visit, they ended up looking really good but after everything I've dealt with recently, I certainly won't be returning. Who knows how much they overcharged me since 2019 when I first started coming here! If you chose to go to this office, please make sure to pay close attention to your patient charges and the amount they submit to your dental insurance (they should match)! If they owe you a refund, Florida recently based a law that makes it unlawful for healthcare providers to hold onto amounts owed to patients for overpayments over 30 days.

INVISALIGN CLIENTS BEWARE!…read more I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Riverview Dental Boutique, particularly with the customer service, communication, lack of follow-through, and the handling of my Invisalign treatment. What should have been a straightforward Invisalign process has turned into an unnecessarily long and frustrating experience because of repeated delays, poor communication, and what I feel has been a significant lack of attentiveness from the dentist. This all resulting from multiple missed communications with Invisalign and poor management of the office. Throughout my treatment, there have been excessive gaps between sets of Invisalign trays because I have repeatedly had to wait for the dentist or office to respond, review my case, submit information, or move the process forward. When you are paying a significant amount of money for Invisalign(I paid $3100 out of pocket and my insurance also covered a large portion), there is a reasonable expectation that your treatment will be monitored and handled in a timely manner. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. The most recent situation is particularly frustrating. I went into the office for my final visit, had my buttons removed and final scan of my teeth completed on September 1. I was under the impression that the scan would be submitted promptly so my final set of maintenance Invisalign trays could be ordered. I was told there was approximately a three-week turnaround time. Today, I called the clinic since it has been 28 days since my appointment, only to be hung up the first time calling, then speaking to someone to take a message, that historically doesn't get returned. The clinic being 5 minutes from my home, I decided to stop in to see if they had my trays yet. There was confusion between the dental assistant and the manager as to whether the trays were in clinic or not. The office manager informed me despite my scan being completed on September 1, the Invisalign order was apparently not actually placed until September 24. That is more than three weeks after the scan was performed just to place the order. Now I am once again left waiting even longer for trays because of a delay that was completely outside of my control and never communicated. This is not an isolated incident. There have been multiple periods throughout my treatment where I have experienced excessive waiting between trays because of delays in responses and follow-up from the dentist. These delays have significantly prolonged a treatment process that I have already paid for. When my initial set of trays were done and revision trays needed to be started, Invisalign contacted the dentist for further instruction on the manufacturing of the trays. That email went unread, leaving me in the last set of trays and waiting for the revisions for 10 weeks! I only found out as I showed up to my revision appointment on April 7th and learned I had taken off of work for no reason because they didn't call me to inform me that the trays were not in. Then to learn from the manager that was previously over the clinic and is no longer there, that the dentist overlooked an email from Invisalign for further instructions. I then was seen for the revised trays on May 5th. I was in the same set of trays for 10 weeks!!!! Communication with the office has also been extremely disappointing. Phone calls are frequently not returned, and it has often felt like I have had to repeatedly follow up just to get basic information about my own treatment. As a patient, I should not have to continuously chase an office for updates, especially regarding treatment that costs thousands of dollars. The turnover in management and staff has made matters even more frustrating. During the initial issue with my Invisalign treatment, the former manager, Lawrence, acknowledged the problems and the delays I had experienced. He gave me a $20 visa gift card and asked if there was anything else he could do to make it right. I had already paid $2500 for the treatment and knew at the end I would have to come out of pocked another $600 for the night trays. So of course I inquired if they could take anything off of that. He said that he would give them to me for the lab cost, which is what they pay for the trays. He would make a note in my chart. That would have been 2 sets of night trays from Invisalign. At my last appointment they tried to send the scan out to an off brand company for 1 set of trays for $300. There was no discount as Invisalign provides 2 sets for $600. I ended up having to come out of pocket $600 anyway. The new manager tried to tell me that their cost was $600 for the 2 sets. Lawrence specifically asked if I could take the negative review off of Google. That agreement was made in connection with me removing the previously posted negative Google review because I was assured the situation would be addressed.
