I had to have a root canal and set up a consultation with DR. Steve Cwicka which confirmed that it was needed. I explained how nervous I was to have this procedure done. He then was able to prescribe something for nerves day of procedure as long as my husband or someone was able to drive me home. Day of procedure was fast and efficient. I would highly recommend Dr. Cwicka and his staff. New Tampa office read more

I highly recommend Dr. Andrea Tsatalis in Riverview, FL. Dr. Andrea took her time with me to explain my options and she made sure I understood the whole process. I chose her to do my procedure because she is down to earth and she is very easy to understand. She is extremely honest and caring. She went above and beyond for me. I felt she did the best job possible. I had a rare issue with my front lower fang tooth # 27. It needed a tooth resorption treatment and a root canal because it had a cavity. It was caused by a head trauma in my youth, which no dentist saw in my Xrays for many years until now. The procedure was very smooth. I experienced no pain at all. Dr. Andrea is very gentle and calm. She explained every step and made sure I was fine all throughout the process. She removed a bone growth too!! I am very grateful for her awesome job. I didn't have to take the prescribed pain medication afterwards. I only took Ibuprofin one time!! I had no bleeding either. She stitched my gums very well and covered them with a bandaid which lasted for several days. Some dentists are offering treatments that Endodontists provide. I recommend you see an Endodontist because they are a specialist. Dr. Andrea focuses on specific treatments so she can provide you the best results possible!! If you need an endodontist treatment, see Dr. Andrea Tsatalis in Riverview, FL. You will be very happy you chose her. Don Geist JR. read more

it is okay not the best place very money-oriented place though. Got a consultation and a root canal.

I have to start by saying--I absolutely hate going to the dentist. So when I found out I needed a root canal, I was extremely nervous and upset. I searched through reviews to find a dentist who could make the experience as stress-free as possible, and the reviews about Dr. Tsatalis at the Riverview office were absolutely right--she is fantastic! This was, hands down, the best dental experience I have ever had and it was PAIN FREE! Even before meeting Dr. Tsatalis, her assistant Sonia took the time to calm my nerves and make me feel more at ease. They are a terrific team! If you need endodontic care, this is the place to go. I never imagined I would be writing a positive review about a dental visit, but they are that good! read more

Dr. Andrea Tsatalis is amazing. I drive and fly with my work on a weekly basis. Missing time for dental pain has never stopped me in the past. Until earlier this year when my mouth was swollen inside and painful. Fishhawk family dental assessed that I needed a root canal at 10am. Dr. Tsatalis team at the Riverview location worked me in that day! At 2pm, Sonia, who is thoughtful and informative, assistant placed me in the chair for the procedure. Dr. Tsatalis minimized my pain and completed the procedure with success. Remarkably I felt better that same evening. I flew for work the next morning only 18 hours later. Delivering a presentation to customers at noon. I am impressed with the speed of my recovery, Dr. Tsatalis is a Rockstar in her field. read more

Dr. Andrea Tsatalis and her team are Amazing! I had to have root canals on four teeth in the span of 11 days, so I became very familiar with the process, Dr. Tsatalis, the quality of her work, and the great office experience. Overall, Dr. Tsatalis is a great doctor; she is a technically proficient dental surgeon, made me feel heard, and eliminated the intractable pain I had been experiencing. Office | The office is immaculately clean, and the space is calming. That is saying a lot, because the dentist gives me panic attacks. Everyone on the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to quickly and easily make appointments, and get questions about insurance answered. Procedure | The root canal itself is not painful and takes about 20 - 30 minutes. She does a great job of performing the nerve block and ensuring you don't feel anything. For me, the hardest part of the procedure is hearing the drilling. But using small headphones with white noise or brown noise helps. Afterwards, the nerve pain was gone. I did have some soft tissue tenderness for about 3 - 4 days afterward. It was easily managed with over-the-counter medication Service | I was able to get an urgent same-day appointment for my first root canal. I was extremely nervous, but Dr. Tsatalis and her assistant put me at ease. I had been in pain since getting my four temporary crowns placed. She focused on calming my anxieties by validating the pain that I was in and explaining the process to me before and during the procedure. She also provided great after-care instructions. I had to have 3 more root canals the next week. I had to drive myself and was not able to take Halcion prior to the procedures. But her team helped me relax for the procedure. I used my headphones to play calming music, and they provided a blanket. I asked that they place the lead x-ray vest over me as a weighted blanket to help. During this time, Dr. Tsatalis communicated with my general dentist, and she ensured I was in as little pain as possible in between procedures. She adjusted my bite on my temporary crowns, which was causing some additional pain. That saved me an extra trip to my general dentist. If you need an endodontist, I recommend her 10/10! read more

Sorry to disagree with others who praise Dr. Tsatalis. I never experienced so much pain when she was preparing me for my root canal. The procedure was painless but the numbing shots were horrendous. In this day and age no one should feel any pain. I also felt no compassion. read more

Endodontic Specialists: My initial call to set up the appointment was a major turn off. I almost did not follow through due to the unprofessional character of the young lady who answered my call. In fact, I did not set up an appointment at that time due to our interaction. When I called back again, the next person I spoke to was very professional, helpful, and kind. I was seen by Dr. Zaritsky at Endodontic Specialists on Thursday, September 19th, 2024. I was referred by a friend after a tooth broke. Dr. Zaritsky and his staff were pleasant, kind, and comforting. My experience was as peaceful as a root canal can possibly be (it was my first). HOWEVER, upon arriving at the dentist who was to prepare my tooth for the crown, I was told that my tooth had to be pulled and that the root canal should not have been performed prior to the infection that was present being treated. The dentist also found further decay that should have been removed. I was charged $1470 for a 20 minute procedure on a tooth that will now be pulled- please note, I did request a cash pay discount due to financial hardship which Endodontic Specialists will NOT offer. Our family had to make critical financial adjustments to afford what I believed was the necessary solution to my broken tooth. In the end, this became a pointless, deplorable, and heart wrenching experience for my family and I. read more

Exceeded all expectations. I was extremely nervous coming in for a root canal... I had DR. O'Donnell and assistant Lakesha. They were phenomenal. I didn't feel a single thing.... Getting a cavity filled is way worse than the root canal!! So happy with my experience. read more

On 11/1/23, I had a triple Apicoectomy after being diagnosed with 3 infected root canals. The procedure was performed by Dr Yandy Gonzalez-Marrero, DMD at the Henderson Blvd location. He explained the procedure in depth before he began. As with any dental procedure, he began with numbing the area which is always the most painful part. Because of the nature & extend of the procedure, it required more numbing than usual. Once the numbing was complete; I felt only pressure but no pain. He has a very kind & caring attitude, though I struggled through the numbing. Once I was numb, he methodically proceeded with the procedure advising me of milestones along the way. I followed post-op instructions when I got home, staying ahead of pain, icing, antibiotics & medrol dose pack. Today is the first day after surgery & I have not needed any pain medication & I have no bruising or swelling. I am so appreciative of Dr Gonzalez for his kindness & expertise. I would definitely recommend him for your endodontic procedures. read more

Dr. Stephen Cwikla is AMAZING! Dr. Stephen Cwikla and Diamond were amazing. I am so thankful I was sent there. The office is very clean and welcoming. They were able to get me in when the referring doctor wanted me to be seen. The situation was rough for several reasons but they were so caring, kind and gentle. I have had several root canals in the past. This root canal was the easiest. Thank you for caring. The office person was very helpful setting up this appointment that had some issues to work through. Amazing With Kids! Great Result! Our child had a severe cavity on an adult tooth that required immediate attention. The option provided by the pediatric dentist was extraction under sedation due to our child's anxiety about having work done. After getting a 2nd opinion, we were referred to Dr. Paul Zaritsky. I can't say enough good things about him. He was able to calm my very upset and anxious 8 year old child, and in the same visit as our consult, he performed the root canal and saved his tooth. He was patient with my son's constant questions, he showed my son everything before it went into his mouth, and explained everything so a child could understand. At the beginning of the visit, my son could barely even say his own name. By the end, he was telling Dr. Paul "I love you" and "I wish you were my dentist!" That is all due to Dr. Paul's exemplary bedside manner and ability to properly deal with an anxious child. After it was over, we gave our son one Advil and he didn't need any other pain meds whatsoever. We couldn't be happier with the result! read more

Why 4 stars? Because they didn't hurt me too bad :) --- --- --- And the dental saga continues. My ex-dentist told me that my root canal from 2008 needed to be re-done, so I was referred here by my new dentist. And just like with all the other work that the previous dentist said I needed, I was told that my root canal was absolutely fine. They ran every test on it that they possibly could, and I passed all of them with flying colors. I'll definitely be back here next time it's needed, but no offense, I hope it's not for a while! Great people here, though. And wouldn't you know... they actually told me how much my visit would be BEFORE hand. Imagine that... a novel concept that unfortunately, not everyone practices around here. read more

Hard to give more than one star to a business you won't use nor recommend. A policy here has changed and patients must agree to sign new forms to give up their constitutional rights to trial by jury (not judge) in worst case scenarios. Also, agreements for binding arbitration are included in the legalese on the forms. On arrival I was given the new forms to sign. I have to wonder what has changed about the care all patients receive to justify their change in policy. Doesn't It seem to lack confidence that all best practice/care methods are consistently employed for best outcomes for patients, BUT just in case...? Seeking and receiving quality medical care without giving up your rights is a preferred patient's right in Florida. I declined to be talked into signing them away. DO SOME DUE DILIGENCE and research for yourself. Like another said, this isn't the only game in town. I prefer a more patient centered practice vs. outcomes leaning in favor of the doctor owner(s). Formerly, I would have rated this practice very high from 2 previous procedures with a great qualified staff. So, I scheduled today's appt for an assessment on another tooth. Never again here. read more

Worst Endodontic practice in the area. They are greedy and if you want to discuss their billing practices you run into the buzzsaw named Lori. Businesses like this are why our insurance premiums are so high. Not to mention the horrific job Paul Zaritsky did on a root canal (the tooth had to be pulled a week after Paul did his phenomenal job)..... Keep looking as this office is not the only game in town. We would never come back as I don't do business with dishonest people. read more

Instead of just five stars they should add a "Caveat Emptor" flag for "Buyer Beware". I was referred to these people by my dentist for a consult on a particular tooth. Upon arrival I was handed two sets of paperwork. The first was the usual, 2-page, basic information, no problem, except that they wanted SSN, which I never provide. Next I started to read the "Endodontic Consent and HIPAA Authorization" Risks, medications, other treatment option and payment policy, basic general language. Then comes the gray highlighted box. "After completing endodontic therapy, patient's tooth will require a permanent restoration. The endodontic fee does not include service for permanent restoration within thirty (30) days. Your referring general dentist will render this service, which is mandatory for the preservation of your tooth and success of the root canal therapy." Therapy? I was concerned I might need a root canal. Isn't that "surgery". Neurosurgeon to patient, you need brain therapy, don't worry we are just going to drill a hole in your left frontal lobe and remove a tumor. And since we don't want to risk any liability, we are going to send you back to your General Practitioner's care. That way, God forbid, if you die, we can just blame it on him. Next is "CONSENT": "Because the practice of medicine and surgery is not an exact science. Patient acknowledges that no guarantees can be made regarding the outcome of care and/or treatment... " I read that as I am the guinea pig, and if they make a mistake, don't worry nothing is exact that's why we get paid to practice on you. Pge 4."No Legal Relationship Between Facility And Doctors" See 2nd pic. below. "Agreement To Arbitrate claims other than nonpayment." See third pic below. Read the last two lines. ...the Parties agree to resolve such matter by bench trial ( i.e., no jury) in the .......... I will let you think about "The why" "Waiver Of Right To Jury Trial" ...,the parties are freely giving up their constitutional right to have any dispute decided in a court of law before a jury and prefer to... So, when I went up to the desk to say I disagree some things, the Recep. said she could call the doctor. I said, I am just here for a consult. I am sorry you can't even see the doctor without signing it. I said: See Ya Call them, request a copy, see if they will send you a copy. As always, you are the best judge of you and your family's wellbeing. Of course, I still don't know if I need a Root Canal, I am however going to look at Indirect or direct pulp cap, apparently much safer. Also, a Holistic dentist. And my quest continues. My hope is at least I made you think. read more

Root canal! Never had one, needed one, walked out of the office feeling like a new man. Got referred to this office by my dentist for a painful cracked tooth that slowly got infected and became a throbbing mess of infected nerves. Wow, very professional staff that took the time to explain all the details as they prepped me for the root canal. Not only that, they have TVs in every office so I watched a baseball game while the doctor drilled. She continuously asked how I was feeling and checked my condition. I didn't feel a thing! In and out in an hour. I didn't even need the prescription painkillers because I was only sore from the normal expected post drilling pain (a little worse than a cavity filling). I would go back in a heartbeat, I was in unbelievable pain associated with the tooth infection. I finally got my first good night's rest in 2 weeks after thinking the pain was just part of having a cracked tooth and waiting for my next appointment. Disclaimer: I have a high tolerance for pain and your tooth condition might be worse than what I experienced. Can't thank them enough for curing that excruciating pain in my mouth! read more

I decided during my appointment today that I would post a review. I am 100% confident recommending Dr Zaritsky's practice. I especially want to mention Destiny, the nurse who made me feel at ease (I'm a very nervous dental patient). Dr Z let me know exactly what was happening and was concerned that I was comfortable throughout the procedure. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. It's the kind of office where it feels like everyone enjoys their job. Clean and modern. Don't hesitate if you need expert dental care. read more

I was an existing patient with this firm. I called weeks in advance to make an appointment. I have dental insurance. I originally thought my appointment was on my payday and it ended up being the day before. I drove 30 miles from Saint Pete to Tampa, and I got to my appointment on time, but when I arrived I was concerned about anything insurance didn't cover because I didn't have much in my bank account until the next day. They explained that I would owe $200. They knew this information and didn't bother to call and tell me beforehand. I explained I thought it was going to be covered under insurance and I could write a check or leave my credit card information until the next day. To my surprise, they would not work with me and canceled my appointment due to their "policy." I am an existing customer and a professional, so I was surprised about this. I think "policy" in this case is an interesting replacement for the word "rapacity." I was driving back to Saint Pete, and I didn't want to expend all the gas and the time I took off work to see these guys. I called and asked if they would try to run the charge on my Amex, and they explained they wanted me to drive *back* to their office because they had to run the card in person, again stating it was their "policy." Policy seems to be used when they do not want to attempt customer service or flexibility, and seems to be a replacement for the word "avarice." This practice seems to be a bit mercenary, and I wonder if they can get away with these practices because people show up to their doors in pain and desperate. Fortunately for me, that was not the case. There was no cause for me to miss this important appointment that I waited weeks for and expended my time off and gas to get to, to be turned away because they were negative and would not wait ONE DAY on a payment of $200. It's a shame, because my previous experience there was nice, but be sure and find out how much it's going to cost up front because they will not be courteous enough to call and tell you, and subsequently will send you away if you happen not to have enough to cover what the insurance doesn't FOR ONE DAY. I'm finding someone else. These people are motivated by greed and not customer service. read more
