He has adored all of his teachers and made some very dear friends. We love the active daily communication (the pictures are a highlight in my day). A special shout out to Ms Gina, Ms Ky, Ms Mariela, and Ms Lydia, who have each shown him such patience and love and manage to provide a happy place for each and every child. The on-site owner and administrators are amazing too--very accommodating and organized--and the curriculum is extremely educational and engaging for him.

At Goddard, the owners are onsite and are personally involved. Lance does a great job and makes everyone feel welcome. Every single day we are greeted by staff when we arrive and when we pick kids up at the end of the day. Here's some other things we get at Goddard that we did not get at the other daycare. Goddard provides snacks. Goddard is on their own schedule. They do not follow the district schedule which means that as a parent you're not constantly scrambling for all the teacher work days, spring and fall break, snow days and early closing and late starts due to the weather. This was a frequent issue at the other daycare we used. Goddard provides date nights for parents. It's extremely affordable daycare on select Friday nights so parents can have a night out. Goddard does an annual holiday concert for all grade levels. This is an amazing and adorable experience to see all the kids perform. Goddard does a formal graduation for the kids who move on to kindergarten. This is the cutest ceremony that every parent cherishes. Goddard does lots of little extra things like a Fall Festival on the weekend where the kids and parents come by and get free pumpkins and they have lots of games and activities. I can go on but these are the bigger things that we've noticed. For us the biggest plus was how flexible Goddard has been with our family. While they have policies and rules as everyone school should have, they also understand the circumstances of the real world and family life and have been very accommodating to my family's situation. We love Goddard and can't recommend them enough.

I volunteer at Wyatt once a week, as part of the Reading Partners program. Every Wednesday our…read moregroup of adult volunteers spends about 40-45 minutes with a group of six graders, reading books and spending time together. The school is a beautiful building! Very tall ceilings, well maintained. The main thoroughfare is pretty impressive as you walk into the space. When there's kids walking around in between classes, the echo is impressive. Since I'm only there for a volunteer program, I can't speak to the teachers or the classes. However, my student that I read with is extremely bright and her teacher encourage her to reach as much as possible, for school and for fun. Really cool building and really cool kids.

They made my high school experience easy and peaceful. I graduated in confidence and had time to live my life alongside school. The flexibility is amazing and the faculty/teachers were great for the most part. I had the chance to attend many field trips, but I also got to attend prom and a physical graduation which meant a lot to me as I didn't wanna miss out on that. They gave the full experience of prom and graduation and senior year overall for me. There was one teacher who doubted me and made me feel bad and like I wouldn't succeed, but I overcame that and did not let him push me around or put me down. I graduated a year after he put me down and I will always remember him as my motivation to prove him wrong. I had another teacher who was outstanding and so supportive to me. I still have a voicemail she left me before I graduated where she was just telling me how amazing my last essay was and how good of writer I was and how she believes in me and my ability to succeed in the future. She has been in the back of my mind since and has been my biggest motivation since then even though she doesn't teach me anymore. Her support my senior year was enough support to keep me going even in my second year of college now. Would recommend this school (as long as your child is wanting to be homeschooled!)

Things quickly went sour when the main teacher started disappearing for months at a time, placing the kids in the care of assistants, art teachers, music teachers, basically anyone with a pulse. This started to wear our child out and dropping him off became a triggering experience. He was never a clingy baby so it was odd to me how distraught he was at drop off. Rather than working with you on behavior issues, they are quick to throw incident reports your way basically blaming your kid for everything. The final straw came when my child was left unattended long enough to destroy the classroom, the staff had the audacity to tell me my 3 year old child needed to take books home to glue pages back together when he was the one left unattended and could have been seriously hurt. The music teacher discussed death of a loved one with my child without permission, they didn't take accountability for either incident which really didn't sit right with me. Not to mention they take more days off than public schools but you're paying an insane amount of money just because it's "Montessori" This place is a glorified daycare, and a crappy traumatizing one at that.

Now, I know the stigma attached to On-line universities but honestly I don't have time to go to a university while holding down a full time job, raising a 6 year old and husband. On the other hand, I do have a lot of down time in the evening, while at home of course, and on the weekends/holidays. So far, they have been very "adapting" and very pleasant school to work with. The other thing that is different and did not appreciate from undergrad was the fact that no one was ever in their office unless you made an appointment. The other thing that really surprised me was how informative each person I have talked to has been with any questions. Its like everybody is educated very well in their department and then some! Well, I will post more as I start classes. I think my biggest fear is the back to school mentality and of course the financial aid, omg!!!

If you are a parent who wants to be involved in the classroom, this is the place for you. Both of my children go to DCP and they both LOVE IT. My husband and I feel the same way- it's a warm, organic, often hilarious community of parent and teachers.

She gave me plenty of helpful books to read throughout my pregnancy and was calm and prepared when it came time to give birth. I had a beautiful experience having my baby at home that wouldn't have been nearly as magical without Natalie. After my baby was born she was there for me day and night when I had questions or concerns. The classes she offered were informative and fun, my partner and I had a great time learning about child birth and what to expect. I'm honestly sad that we can't be in her care forever because she's the best provider I've ever had. If you want the real home birth experience without fear or judgement, Natalie is the best. Will 100% be having her as my midwife for any future kids I have. Thank you, Natalie!!
