Two words, Abysmal Service!
Their website AND the sales representative clearly confirm that when you purchase a product from them, you are within any rights to do a store return given that whatever you purchased given that it's in brand new condition. Clearly this wasn't the case if you decide to buy a new lens from them, or what they call it, a 'specialty item'.
I've recently called into Broadway camera Vancouver location and ask to be put on the wait list for the new Sigma 24 Art lens ($1050), the sales called me today to come and pick up the lens since they just got it in stock. Everything went well but when I was pulling out my credit card and ready to pay for my purchase, i casually asked the sales what's the return policy on my purchase (wasn't planning on returning the lens anyway, but I usually like to find out the return/exchange policy before i purchase an anything). Then that's when everything started going bad...the sales all of a sudden told me that, despite what's been stated on their website, they do not accept return of the lens i'm about to purchase, since it's a 'specialty item'. Then the funniest (craziest) thing happened, this sales even want me to sign a 'no return policy' agreement form (which I'm pretty sure he just made that shit up) when I buy the lens as well. I started to argue with him challenging him that this is not consistent with their store policy, then the sales explained to me that it's because this lens just came out so that's why it's a specialty item and can't be returned. Now if in the end of the year when they have more of this lens in stock, then it's no longer a specialty item and return policy will be allowed for this product. Seriously? Does this sales hear himself when he speaks? Just because this lens is new so if fall under special order items?! At this point i'm starting to get very perturbed since the store is essentially changing bullying their customer to comply to their none-sense. In the end I left without purchasing the lens and decide to pick one up later this year when supplies become more abundant, AT OTHER CAMERA STORE! Oh and guess what this sales last remark is, he simply just said that he'll call the next person on the wait list and have a good day.
Buyer beware, Broadway Camera has been known for it's horrendous customer service and snobbiness, only come here to buy camera equipment form them if you want to bend over like dogs and kiss their feet. read more
