First time visit today and it won't be the last. EAT, READ, SLEEP LOCAL! We were so happy to find some 1st edition Stephen King hardcovers at very reasonable prices. Lots of science fiction as others have mentioned but you'll also find Black History, Witchcraft, Travel...not to mention some rare 1st edition books- some even signed! The owners were so lovely and chatted with us for a few minutes. They love Connie Willis - a Sci fi author local to Colorado - and had so many great suggestions! read more

This is one of the best bookstores to visit when in Denver, i loved the extensive genre selection as well as the unmentioned music section with so much to pick from for music lovers! The book selections were both niche and well known, truly everything for anyone who loves to read with older valuable, rare editions as well as newer copies! Stephen is a nice guy and highly accommodating. The calming Profokiev set a nice ambiance for book browsing. High recommend. read more

A heaven for book lovers and bibliophiles. Sometimes used bookstores don't have specific titles that I'm seeking but this place has got it all and then some. Steve will help you find anything you need. What an incredible book store. The owners are gems; friendly, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable about the store's merchandise and literature in general. It is technically run by a collective of owners who sell their own individual collections, so you might find a book on two different book shelves in the store. Even though one of the owners may not be working that day, whoever is manning the store often has a thorough grasp of the entire shop's inventory. Fantasy and sci-fi largely dominate, but I've found several popular cooking, travel, gardening, and astronomy books. I cannot recommend Broadway Book Mall enough, and I would give it 10 stars if I could! read more

OK, so having never been in here before I actually didn't catch on at first that this is truly a "mall". It is a collection of resellers all in one location. SO once you know that it makes a heck of a lot more sense that there are 10 different places you can find Stephen King books (example). The tip here - ask whoever is working where you can find what you are looking for! Or if you just want to hunt - go for it! This place is the spot to get your signed copies of books. They really did have a TON! And like I said, the people working are a great help. I found a thing or two here, but the different collections are both a plus and a minus. I first went to tattered cover and was unimpressed because they were clean and organized but had high prices. I wanted a nice used book store and I found it. If you're looking for a clean and new book store this isn't for you, check out tattered cover. BUT, if you're looking for used books and you don't mind searching for something cool, this is the place for you. They have a ton of Sci-fi, Fantasy, Comic Book stuff, a good horror section, and lots of older stuff. The shelves were exploding books onto every free area, which in my opinion is a good thing. You find unique stuff. If this isn't your style of store, please remember to still shop local in a place that is your style instead of ordering from corporate. Couple of real pieces of work working there last night. I asked for the bathroom key and they gave me the most confusing and out of place attitude. Then, as I was walking away, they both started talking really loudly about how people should learn to hear things the first time and making other snide remarks. Do not sell them any books. I took five books in today to sell. Two I purchased two weeks ago. I was told for all five books that they would give me $5.00. I, too, am chalking up my initial experience to, perhaps, a visit just before their spring-cleaning. (Or something.) We wandered back in, and the whole place was much... Cleaner. Still cluttered and crazy hodgepodge, but at least clean. The couple who owns the joint was still as nice as ever, really just like a small-town, adorable little couple, but the man is just amazing with his mental inventory of this cluttered store! He can literally tell you where something is, what shelf, which was it was facing. Unreal. Once we could see to browse, we found a couple books to purchase, and can appreciate the vastness of the inventory here. From Doctor Who Bibles to Sci-Fi Pulp Books to Comic Books to Tsotchkes, just a wee bit of everything. Come in with a "bargain hunting at the flea market" mentality, and you'll probably find something good... and at least you'll have the proper mindset. And really... That little couple... Just. Too. Maybe the happiest of circumstances didn't bring you to your new location a few blocks down from your old location, but I love how you are settling in. Stuffed floor to rafters with excellent books in pristine condition and many many of them signed, perusing your inventory is one of my favorite pastimes. Though they don't have their new sign up outside yet, and their Grand Opening is just around the corner over Labor Day, they are open for business. With many of the great booksellers you loved from the former location, this location has MUCH BETTER parking and is close to another love of mine, Fahrenheit's Books! Be sure to ask about their author events as these are stunning occasions and a rare opportunity to hob-nob with local authors! read more

Y'all please come buy some books from these sweet people! And be prepared to spend some time browsing because there are books stacked from floor to ceiling and in every nook and cranny imaginable. There are currently nine different booksellers in the store and they each have their own section. So if you can't find a specific title in one area, it may be somewhere else in the store. I guess it's safe to say that some sellers are more organized than others. If you're looking for sheet music for the score to some obscure musical, this is your place. In fact, there's quite a selection of antique sheet music, which is something I wouldn't normally expect to find in a used book store. Some of the covers are so beautiful and unique, you could frame them and hang them on your wall. This eclectic shop also sells comics, greeting cards, magnets, vintage post cards, and probably lots of other things I didn't notice because there's so much to look at crammed into one space. The store hosts occasional book signing events with local authors and has several autographed first edition hardbacks for sale. The couple that owns the store is super friendly and very knowledgeable about the authors and genres of the books I brought in to sell. They gave me a very fair price for my used books. So make the Book Mall a destination on your travels down Broadway. There's even a small parking lot around back. read more

This place doesn't look like much from the inside, but it's such a charming shop once you step inside! It may not have the biggest selection, but it sure does make a book-lover feel warm and fuzzy inside. Maybe it's just me. :) Found this place thanks to a recommendation and really enjoyed the neighborhood/friendly-feel of the place. The owner's were really friendly and I had fun looking around. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there because it's a bit away from where I live, but if I'm in the area I'd make a stop. It was the first time I'd seen someone tally up an amount on a pad of paper and with a calculator. I was actually pretty shocked. ;-) The only thing that would make this place better would be if it was bigger. Then again, maybe that would take away from it's unique charm. :-) read more

I've spent many-a-afternoon getting lost in this new but primarily used bookstore. Stacks of of old reads had me reminiscent of Macaulay Culkin getting lost in The Pagemaster. The random coffee station can be manned with a nod to the long haired dude behind the adjacent counter across the room; you can sometimes hear way-too-serious book review clubs congregating up front; but most of all you get to watch quite a cast of characters browsing everything that is South Broadway. If you are a "busy" person running some quick errands don't bother. This place swallows you up. read more

I stumbled into the Broadway Book Mall Today as I was biking down the new bike lanes on Broadway. The selection was large, but more importantly the owners were very knowledgeable and it was great to get so much background knowledge on the books. I personally enjoyed the selection of books about historical Denver. They had a lot of books I think you would be hard pressed to find at another store about the city. I'm glad these guys happen to be on the bike route too as otherwise I would not have found them and I know it will make coming back super easy. Good bike parking out front too! read more

On a whim, I stopped into Broadway Book Mall because I was looking for a particular book and I hadn't been able to find it anywhere else. The man and woman working were extremely helpful and quickly located what I wanted and the price was a steal. Yes, the place is cluttered, but they obviously have an effective organizational system and honestly I think it lends to the charm. They have an extensive selection for a small place and they couldn't have been nicer. Can't wait to go back! read more

Wow, what a cool spot. It has the largest collection of sheet music I've found in a long time, all meticulously organized. A real gem if you like browsing scores, which has become very difficult to do with most brick-and-mortar sheet music stores out of business. Especially noteworthy is their vast array of old, out-of-print scores from obscure early to mid 20th-century American composers (think Leroy Anderson as a starting point). If you're a musician you owe it to yourself to check this place out. I'm sad I don't live near here and can't visit more frequently. Also, not sure what the negative reviews are about - I was in here twice and met Ron and Steve and both were super friendly and cordial. read more

The Broadway Book Mall is good for what it is, as long as you remember what it is when you walk in the door. Which I didn't :) There are no clear sections for "Science Fiction" or "Literature" or "Children's" or the like. The different sections of the book store are labeled with different vendors who are displaying their wares there - such as "Who Else Books". Once you realize that, it's fiarly easy to look around and find what you want. Or you can ask the proprietor, as he knew where everything was. There are a ton of signed, first edition copies of books here. If that's your thing this is definitely the place to go. read more

I definitely saw this store from the corner of my eye and immediately walked in and saw this nice tiny shop have a huge selection of books and novelty items. The entrance itself took my breath by a storm! I bought an original 1940 Lewis Carroll "Alice in Wonderland" copy for only $12. The book is in mint condition so I'm happy about that. The shop is the best place to find all sorts of good books!! I totally recommend this place. read more

I love this little book shop in my neighborhood. I can spend an hour just wandering around looking at all the treasures. They have a good range of classics (at a v affordable price) and newer reads. I found my favorite book of 2019 here randomly. It's not your typical shop - it's very cluttered but I think that's part of the charm. That and the hand written receipts! read more
