If I could give this review a zero, I absolutely would. I would even give it negative stars if I could. Living at Broadstone was the biggest nightmare of my life, and I can't believe I made it through the full year there.
For starters, I had to sign three separate leases before moving in because they kept putting the wrong end date. The day I moved in, my unit's A/C was broken. I should have taken this as my sign to run as far away from this property as I could.
I lived in my unit for only a month before it completely flooded. Water poured out of the wall for almost 4 hours before "emergency maintenance" finally showed up. During this time, Mark, aka the worst and most useless leasing agent ever, showed up periodically with a mop and would "try" to mop up the water, but ultimately, he spilled the bucket multiple times. Which in the end didn't matter because no one could find the key to my water valve closet. HOT water spewed until all of my belongings were destroyed. At five pm, when my apartment was still actively flooding, Mark said, "Well, my shift is over. Good luck. Maybe go to Target and get some towels," and left me with a flooding apartment. The manager at the time, Jessica, was also the most useless and rude person I have ever encountered. She truly could not have cared less about what had happened to my neighbor (who also flooded) and me. It took weeks for my neighbor and me to get any updates on our situation, literally leaving me homeless. She promised us movers to move us into our new units, but they never arrived. When I asked for compensation for the flood, she called me and screamed at me over the phone, calling me ungrateful, among other things, because at least she was "going to put me somewhere eventually". It took over a month for my neighbor and me to receive any compensation, and almost two weeks to be transferred to new units (which we were not allowed to choose ourselves).
The property itself is full of spiders, ants, roaches, and snakes!!! If a snake gets into your unit, good luck! The leasing office will not come and help you. I had two snakes in my unit on separate occasions, and both times I had to remove them all by myself. Shout out to Mark in the leasing office for saying he was coming to help, but he never did! If you request pest control, the pest control guy will knock on your door, but then leave. He won't wait for you to answer or come in; he'll leave, but tell the leasing staff he treated your place. This happened to me numerous times, and I captured it all on my Ring camera.
If you have a pet, specifically a dog, LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!! NO ONE leashes their dogs. Ever. 5 off-leash dogs have attacked my dog and me; one incident sent my dog to the emergency vet. I have never lived anywhere where this has been an issue until Broadstone. I must have missed where I had to check the box for being an irresponsible pet owner when I signed my lease. The dog park is also disgusting. It is super muddy, and floods when it rains or they use the sprinklers, leaving it full of mosquitoes. The dog park and the property itself are covered in dog poop. You seriously can't walk anywhere without there being poop. With the indoor/outdoor living vibe, the hallways constantly smell like dog poop, especially during the summer months. There are also people who let their dogs piss in the hallways. They claim the grounds are cleaned daily, but that's a huge lie. The pee will stay in the hallways for days, sometimes weeks, at a time.
Speaking of the unclean hallways, there were multiple incidents where vomit and blood were left in the hallways for days at a time. Even with work orders put in to clean them up, it would take days.
If you want to live a peaceful life, this is not the place for you. The cops are constantly at Broadstone. People are constantly throwing parties, fighting, etc. There is also a massive homeless encampment right outside the complex on the train tracks. The homeless people are constantly hopping the fences and entering the building, bathing in the hoses attached to the building, sleeping in the parking lot/garage, digging through the trash, etc.
Speaking of the homeless people entering the building, the entry system is constantly down. The doors to the building are left unlocked 99.9999% of the time due to system failures, meaning anyone can walk right in. There are three elevators in the building, 1 is for the parking garage, and the other 2 access the right side of the building. The two for the building never work. This building is not handicap accessible due to that.
My neighbor was allowed to do the craziest stuff and never got in trouble. Every day, he left multiple poop bags outside his door that would stink up the end of the hallway. He would also leave overflowing trash outside that smelled as well. His dog was never on a leash, and sometimes he just let it run around the building/grounds unsupervised. This dog is very aggressive and mean.
