I liked this place. We had just finished our last day of all day meetings where we were in office from 9:00-8:00 and we needed to eat and drink. No one had any ideas, but it was a nice day when the sun decided to show up late. We asked a cabbie to drive us to Southwark and asked him to drop us off when we started passing a bunch of restaurants. Brix was the closest thing we saw so we went there. The atmosphere inside was happening, but not too happening; it was decently busy but we were still able to get seated right away. The menu was not overly ambitious but also not overly bland. It was a good kid of pub snacks and more substantive main dishes, including a few fresh seafood plates. I opted for the roasted chicken, which was perfectly done. I did regret only getting the 1/4 chicken rather than the 1/2 and ended up having to order a second plate, but it did hit the spot. The fries and sweet potato fries we ordered for the table were delicious, which actually, I've discovered, is hard to find a nice crispy French fry in Europe even though they invented them here. Finally the cocktails were also nicely done. Great choice for an after work meet up with colleagues or friends. read more
