The lady that owns the store was so incredibly pushy and was not able to stop talking constantly, when I didn't buy something. She said look at all the things I brought to you to try on and you didn't find one thing to purchase. when I told her I didn't like short sleeves, I like a longer sleeve she said well everyone in Florida wear no sleeves almost making me feel stupid. She also told my friend to double check the price because it wasn't cheap assuming my friend had no money to be in her store. I left the clothes in the dressing room, except one skirt I was holding onto because I was trying to figure out if I wanted to buy it or not. Instead, I hung it up on another rack, then she asked me where I put it and she stopped checking my out at the to the dressing room to get my clothes and stated I need to have everything you tried on, again felt like she was accusing me of stealing ! read more

Cute clothes and shop, however the manager is very rude. She made snide rude remarks that I was " playing with her" when I tried on some clothes, hung them nicely back up, gave them politely with thanks to the sales gal and didn't buy them. Wow. I've never experienced that before. She's very... angry with the world. I wish her well ( as I do everyone) , but she needs to find some flexibility, understanding and kindness within herself or switch professions. read more

I would avoid this store at ALL COSTS. The owner Kim is rude and very close minded. I purchased several shirts 2.5-3 weeks ago. I traveled for business and as I packed two weeks ago, I decided one of the shirt I had purchased at Britta's did not fit me right and I decided to return it. I made sure the label was still attached to the shirt. Today Kim told me it could not be returned becase 2 weeks ago they decided NO RETURNS. That was not the case when I bought the shirt and she would said the label was not attached even though it was. Interestingly, I brought my niece shopping at Britta's and she felt Kim was extremely pushy. So should you decide to go into the lion's den, do so at your own peril and do not buy anything you don't love, because you are stuck with it! Even with gas prices increasing, I will drive to Venice before I ever shop in that store again. read more

I experienced the rudest customer service imaginable. I was initially greeted by a very pleasant and helpful sales person, who was instructed to help other people. Had the very nice woman helped me, I likely would have purchased a few outfits. Instead, I had an extremely bizarre experience. Clothes I liked were put back on the rack, clothes I didn't like were left in the room. When I asked to try a specific item on, I was told I couldn't. I was insulted multiple times. I finally walked out (there were a few things I wanted so I sucked up the rudeness a bit too long). For example, the price points are fairly low. The most expensive item I saw was about $150. Not cheap, but not obnoxiously expensive. The sales person (who would not let me look around) told the other woman to keep the price point down. If I had ASKED for a low price point, that would be fine. However, I did not ask for any specific price point. I wanted to purchase what I would use over a 5 day event and continue to wear in my beach bum who cleans up sometimes life. I ended up walking out without saying what was on the tip of my tongue. I then wondered if I was being punked. It was an incredibly sharp contrast to the excellent service I received in other boutiques on Dearborn street. I will shop again in the area, and will recommend other stores to my friends, but this one? I'll tell my friends NOT to go in. I'm rather sad because there was an adorable dress with a sailboat on it and 2 others I don't NEED but would have purchased. I'm hoping I can find the sailboat dress in another store. To the nice sales lady: I REALLY wish you'd have been able to help me. I probably would have been quite happy. read more

My daughter and I recently visited Britta's Boutique in Englewood, Florida. We had shopped there before when it had a different name and different owners. I purchased a skirt for my daughter as an early Christmas present. Upon trying it on again at home my daughter decided to return it. Her first encounter was that all returns are in store credit only although this is not posted anywhere. Then the owner proceeded to "harangue" her with comments like; are you awfully old for you Mother to be buying you clothes, don't you have a job, I can't believe you tried on so many clothes and only bought one. Then she said to my daughter, your Mother is too thin and it makes her look 10 years older. I could go on. Needless to say, we took our in-store credit and spent it immediately and will never go back. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised when I walked into this boutique and found so many beautiful things to purchase. The staff was very helpful and I got to meet the owner. I commented to her what a great store she opened. I went in for 1 outfit but ended up w 3 pieces of clothing and a birthday gift for my friend. I will definitely be back! read more

This is a cute little Boutique but don't shop there!  The salesperson was nice but the Manager needs some serious training! New to the area, I stopped in to start a fun day of shopping. I was their only customer for quite a while & wasn't looking for anything special. Right away I was kind of surprised at how Super aggressive the Manager was & how hard she pushed her salesperson to constantly follow me around the store suggesting clothing without really letting me pick & look on my own. I felt some pressure but did try on quite a few things they suggested. I had limited $ to spend so I decided to move on to some of the other shops before purchasing 2 of the things I especially liked there at Britta's....OMG! That infuriated the Manager! She was visibly mad that she had her sales person spend time with me...Mind you, I didn't need & never asked for any help at all! I'm sure she didn't know that I could see her making all kinds of hand motions & facial expressions to her salesperson about me & it was very obvious she was visibly upset seeing the clothes being placed back on the racks. I had also wanted to see some earrings that were in the front of the store. As I was walking from the fitting room to the jewelry case to my surprise the Manager was holding the 2 items of clothing I told her I was interested in possibly coming back for & she purposely put them on display right as you walked in the front door of the shop...She did it right in front of me & then proceeded to say they were the exact ones I had tried on. She was extremely rude & told me she was sure someone else would buy them before I came back! By then there were other people in the store & it was very awkward! Wow...She was acting like a child. I wonder if that is a high pressure job??? I thought maybe she was just having a bad day until I read some of the other reviews. I have never seen someone act so unprofessional on the job. Hopefully she gets the hint that being kind is better for business...Needless to say I decided I was done with that boutique at that moment. I didn't end up purchasing anything in Britta's & I never will!!! read more

i have to say the place has very cute clothes but the owner is quite rude. she was noticably rude to her help as well. the girls in there are very helpful and nice but the owner should stay out of the way. i don't think she's even aware. she argues with her customers. she told me she buys very little in size small. so i guess the message is, she does want me to come back. i am size small. their return policy is 7 days and store credit only. i heard she's changing that to less than seven days. she is shooting herself in the foot. i was going to drive 4 girls there next week but they do not like her return policy and her attitude. so i give the clothes a 3 for cuteness but overall it's a 1 with her attitude. btw, her clothes are not cheap. i don't mind paying but i expect better service. a lot of the boutiques in this area give the locals 10% off. not britta's. if they have a rewards program i was not made aware. me and my friends are shoppers so we know what the competition is. typically its 7 days full return. 30 days, store credit. not sure she will be around long. too bad. read more
