Such an aesthetic place! Kat was very knowledgeable about British culture. She was very helpful in picking a tea that was right for me. She also helped me find all the British goodies I was looking for. Please try the pots of tea and the Cadbury chocolates!

Tea serving area, sit and relax.

Absolutely love this tea house. They serve tea and crumpets with a shop to take all different kinds of goodies home. Lots of hard to find items. PB Tips was recommended, so delicious and my new fav.

    Shelves stocked with various imports.

I've just left this delightful little shop. My server, Mimi, told me they've been open for about a month now. It's a store, but with cute little tables so that if you'd like to purchase a cup (or pot) of tea, and enjoy it on the spot with a scone or biscuit, you can. They have a small selection of teas for consumption on-site, and a larger amount to carry out. They also import various things like meat pies, blood sausage, various Heinz products (I snagged a potato leek soup!), and of course candies. It's a cute place, tucked away in the back of the shopping plaza. I'd definitely recommend.

I've come here a couple of times; I've tried the fish & chips, but the real star is the "full English breakfast." They use authentic English "bangers" and not just an American sausage. Breakfast comes with "fried toast" which is perfect for sopping up the beans and juices at the end of the meal. Good beer selection too!

We ordered a Harp beer which is light and not hoppy. Not sure if it was cause the glass wasn't chilled, but I kinda wished my beer was a bit more chilled/colder. We also order their award winning fish and chips, we got the cod. It was ok. Not too sure about "award winning". But it was good. My son got the fish bite and chips from the Little Buccaneers menu (12 and under). It came w/a drink and an ice cream sundae. It was a good portion for a 9 year old. He said it was good! Our server was nice and smiley, but unfortunately our food and even our drinks took a while. Maybe cause it was busy, but luckily our server was cheery and friendly, it kind of made up for it. Overall, this place is pretty cool. Would I come here again? Possibly. But honestly I thought this place was just ok.

I assure you…read moreI do not -- it's just that I've lately discovered some menu items I haven't had before, and each one is making an impression. The latest newbie, for me, is the Chicago Dog. This version is a quarter-pound beef Frank, split and grilled to a nice char, topped with the appropriate suspects: mustard, relish, pickles, onions and sport peppers. I deleted the tomatoes and added extra peppers. Served on a hearty roll rather than a bun, this is much more of a meal than a snack, with loads of flavor coming from very fresh ingredients, and a pleasing punch coming from the peppers. Even if you keep the tomato on yours, definitely add extra peppers. The dog comes à la carte, but I added a side of their scratch-made onion rings, and they did not disappoint. Thinly sliced onions are dipped in a frothy beer batter and lightly fried, rendering them crispy, sweet and very tasty without being greasy or heavy. Perfect for dipping in any number of sauces, though they serve a side of ranch by default. Chris was tending bar, and took good care of me despite the place being very crowded for trivia night. Good energy from a good crowd, as always, and one of the best Chicago Dogs I've had in SoCal.

Friendly and hard-working servers. Beautifully made and tasty cocktails. Food was fresh and perfectly cooked. Probably the best tasting thick "chips/french fries " that my family I've ever had (my family normally do not like the thick type of french fries)! Loved the Roast beef sandwich with flavorful thick au jus sauce and horseradish sauce. Short rib eggs Benedict with Hollandaise sauce was excellent, but the roast beef sandwich was surprisingly better. Perfectly fried hash browns (the type that I love which are like flat tater tots rather than criss-cross potatoes). Waiters surprised by daughter and my nephew with delicious birthday brownies à la mode for their birthday celebration too! Thanks for a fabulous meal at California English!

What made it even more frustrating was that the waitress appeared to be helping and acknowledging other guests while we continued to wait. This was especially disappointing since we had a baby with us. We were also celebrating a birthday, and our server asked if we would like the restaurant to cut the cake for us. We agreed, assuming it was a courtesy, as no fee was mentioned. When the bill arrived, we were surprised to find a $4 cake-cutting charge. Had we been informed beforehand, we could have made our own decision, but the lack of transparency left a bad impression. Overall, the service felt inattentive and the unexpected charge left us feeling disappointed. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant.
