Boys and their toys.. I mean cars of course! My partner and I needed to get a car before baby comes along and brought along my father in law who knows a bit about cars, so I would recommend bringing a buff with you.
The second hand cars that the public can buy are available for auction on Tuesdays, turn up early around 4pm. Auction starts at 5, so you need time to look at all those available.
Recommendations are to buy with at least 4 months MOT (some have no MOT, more risky!) and look at the mileage against the ages of the car. Cars are locked so all you can do is inspect the body and the state of the tyres. At 5pm one by one the cars are started and brought into the forecourt for bidding. If you're not known to the BCA they may be more wary of your bidding, so don't be alarmed if conditions are added like 'pending a phonecall to the seller'. In terms of payment best to pay by card and you'll have added to your bill 'buyers fees' of about £80 - then you get handed the service history and the car is yours.
