Over in the Wirral you'll find a fine Indian restaurant in plush surroundings known as Britannia Spice. There's the crisp white linen and artfully folded napkins you often find in places specialising in curry (and we all know that the pristine white is just made for staining yellow and orange with slight spatterings of sauce no matter how careful you are), dark wooden features which give it a traditional feel, and modern leather white and black chairs for a bit of juxtaposition.
It's certainly a pleasant place to eat but if you fancy your own sofa better, there's a takeaway service too. The menu is laden with archetypal bhajis, pakoras, butterfly king prawns and tikka meats to start, banquets, sharing dishes and selections for one (thalis), baltis, biryanis, dhansaks and tasty malayas, just about every kind of Indian bread you can imagine as well as some more unusual chef recommendations.
Britannia deals in outside catering too, and there's a great two course mini meal deal where you can get a smaller bite for £5.95 as a lunch perhaps. read more
