Clean, scenic, peaceful with easy parking and great for all ages, we not only played on the zip lines and rope courses but also walked along the raised boardwalk along the ponds and checked out the community garden. We saw bat boxes and while we didn't wander the entire area, didn't spot bee hives or farm animals which I think would be awesome additions, particularly closer to the play environment so kids can learn even more about nature and animals. Inspiring, wished we had something similar back home!

There are some paths around the lagoon as well as a picturesque foot bridge. There's also a playground for the kids. As mentioned, don't come here during the summer. The mosquitoes will eat you alive.

We were suppose to sit, but once she saw ducks..she wasn't tired anymore. Lol. Richmond has done a great job providing greenspace smack dab in the city. This park has ample trails, ponds, kids play areas, basketball court, areas to have picnics, parking spaces...and a few more which I probably did not see. The one thing I noticed was there were no places within a quick walking distance to buy refreshments or food, but when in Richmond everything is a short drive and LOTS of food choices. Take the kids or if you like nature, it's certainly worth spend some quiet time (there are areas where the kids are far enough away :) )

This was the first time I saw so many cherry blossoms that were short, they were so cute and there were tons of blossoms! Beautiful! It is a very big park, great for running or walking. Garry Point may not be the most picturesque park around (unless the cherry blossom trees are in…read morebloom), but it does have plenty of other charms to offer: waterfront access, a limited number of small, sandy beaches, a monument to fallen fishermen, a small Japanese garden, public restrooms, a surprisingly decent snack shop, and plenty of walking paths and trails. Not to mention proximity to the Steveston wharf and downtown area, with its multitude restaurants, shops and facilities. Still, there's plenty of green space for picnics, field games, sunbathing, watching the ships sail by, and other park-related activities. Residents of Steveston are lucky to have this effectively right in their own communal backyard.

I enjoyed the 8 km return walk out to the jetty, especially when the weather is great. Not too hot/cold or sunny in spring. It is very picturesque when the sky is clear or with just bits of clouds. Lots of wildlife to look at during the walk. Spotted blue herons and plenty of ducks and seagulls. It was low tide and you see more of the wetlands. There are two shelters and two toilets along the way at different locations. I like how there are yellow markers on the ground at every 0.5km. The estimated time will take 2.5 hours to complete the 8 km return trip, longer if you want to admire the view at the end. Shorter if you're just getting your steps in. I got in 14k+ steps while R took 12k+ steps. I guess I have shorter legs. Hahaha. I will come here again to walk when the weather is good. I like flat land walking.

The beach is long and we found that the farther we walked, the more serene and natural the beach was. Farther down, the beach felt so pure/natural that we all commented on how it has prob remained unchanged for a thousand years. Very pretty in a Tofino type of way. Very soft, fine and darker colored sand. Only problem is no restroom farther down.

Lots more new residential buildings have been built in the area. There are events during special holidays like Canada Day etc. If you want fresh seafood then you must come here early. They have fisherman docked at the dock selling their catch. Best time to come for me is around May or June for the spot prawns. They have salmon and other fishes on sale. Uni is a good one to get here. However, many of the fisherman only take cash.

The park has a free parking lot, an information center, a playground, and three hiking loops. The walk is quiet and secluded, but there is not much to see. The dirt trail also kicks up a lot of dust, which makes cleanup of pants after the hike somewhat of a hassle.
