I love Queen Elizabeth Park. One of my favourite spots is the Bloedel Conservatory which is a little tropical paradise, full of beautiful birds and greenery. The paths in Queen Elizabeth during the summer are lined with perfectly maintained flowers. I love wandering through them to "stop and smell the roses". The views are some of the best in Vancouver I've seen where you can also enjoy eating at Seasons in the Park restaurant. It's the perfect stop after a walk around the park or a visit to Bloedel. The times that I have visited, Queen Elizabeth Park surprisingly rarely felt crowded; except for cherry blossom season. The cherry blossoms make you feel like you are almost visiting Japan. Beautiful and huge! Prepare to pay for parking but it's a well maintained place and you'll explore and take in so much amazing views! We saw a couple do a small wedding ceremony and photos there so I don't doubt it would be a great wedding venue for larger parties too. Note: We found that is cost just as much to park the car valet at the restaurant vs. street parking. In my BC visit an acquaintance wanted to have a birthday Picinic here and what a good choice. It is very spacious, has parking and bathrooms. Everything you need. There are great views here such as sculptures, horticulture and areas to play sports. Much of what the park likely has to offer we didn't partake in on this particular visit. Our host wanted a simple get together with a pot luck and to enjoy rounds of pickle ball at the nearby courts. The courts were packed throughout the day, but other park goers were polite and when finishing their sets, they'd turn the courts over to our party. Where we were was near the dog off leash area. This was unintentional, but it worked out as all the people were polite and would call their dogs back if they got too close. I wouldn't mind returning to this park to see more but the visit here was pleasant. read more

Gorgeous park with many gardens and a conservatory full of... parrots. The park itself is free and the conservatory fee is very reasonable. It was great to wonder around well manicured gardens and to see all those tropical birds. Plan around two hours - it's not a huge park by any means. Parking was easy. This is a very nice park in the city. It is the highest point in the city proper as well. The landscape is starting to look very nice in the spring, I think it will become very pretty as it gets warmer. The views are great as well. Parking is fairly close to the high point so if you prefer to not hike up, it's totally doable. There is a small planet dome there that charges something like $9 to enter - I didn't go cos it's kinda silly to pay for that. It's great enough to walk around the free park which is the majority of the park. read more

I tend to only post restaurant reviews but realize I should post more reviews of my favourite spots in the city! QE Park is definitely one of them. This beautiful park has great views of downtown and Vancouver, and its garden is free and a really good one to visit year round, but especially in the spring and fall! It's not big, but has plenty of great flowers and nice walkways and some benches and seating areas. There is also an indoor conservatory (paid, but pretty small fee like $4-5) with tropical birds and plants. The infamous huge stinky 100-year flower was hosted here recently. Plenty of parking, there is also a restaurant. In the spring tons of cherry blossoms. Also various athletic facilities on the periphery of the park, including one of the few curling sheets in the city. read more

This park is so beautiful, especially on a sunny summer day. Lots of benchs, toilets (with free ladies sanitary items), a lovely view of Vancouver and North Vancouver, the Bloedel Conservatory... A great place to relax or spend time with family and friends. There's also a food truck near the clock but it only takes cash. read more

Wow, the view! With the peak located 400 feet above sea level, you're above most of the trees and the shorter peaks of Vancouver that you can really see the mountains of North Vancouver and the skyscrapers in downtown. And then, there's the arboretum and the park itself. I spotted tennis courts and a disc golf course and definitely lots of other folks walking about and jogging to enjoy being outside on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The park isn't what it originally was and thankfully, Vancouverites who want truer nature can still access Stanley Park. Thankfully, we were walking. Absolutely beautiful park, and a must visit when in Vancouver! Cherry blossoms in the springtime were plentiful. There's a duck pond and picturesque quarry gardens scattered throughout. While QE Park is free, the Bloedel Conservatory which is located inside the park, has an admission fee. Unfortunately they closed early when I visited, so I missed the opportunity to see the hundreds of exotic birds, flowers, and plants. One of the most popular spots in QE Park is the lookout area near "The Photo Session" sculpture. From here, you have a great view of downtown Vancouver if the skies are clear. read more

This is a nice park in Vancouver! We came here to see the cherry blossoms. There weren't many, and a lot of websites say that this is the best park to see them. I saw more in random small parks in the city than in this park. It was really crowded here too (perhaps because we all read the same articles), so not a great photo op. I liked the large quarry garden and all the different kinds of flowers. The small quarry garden looked kind of dead. There are beautiful views of the city and mountains. read more

This is one of my favorite parks in Vancouver and I used to take a picture here every spring just to see the changes over the years. This is also the first place I visited (during transit on way to Toronto) when I first landed in Canada years ago. My mother loves this park and the blooming flowers. I love the view especially on a clear day. The night view is equally pretty with the lights twinkling in the dark. The parking rate is high and is quite a deterrent for frequent visit. You can always park far away and then walk up to the garden area. Besides the garden, there is the restaurant and conservatory, pitch and putt and tennis court. There is also a duck pond and trails to explore. Plenty to do here. read more

Lovely park along Cambie St. Beautifully curated gardens including a Rose Garden. Nice views of the city from the bluff at the entrance. Bloedel Conservatory is not large and has a small-ish collection of brilliantly colored Macaws and Parrots, together with tropical foliage. Great place to visit for a couple of hours while in Vancouver. read more

I went to QE Park to see the cherry blossoms a couple of days ago. Weather was nice. The park is so green in springtime. The best was the cherry blossom trees at various locations. They were very beautiful. Many people also came to see and take photos! It was nice to walk around the whole park, absorb the fresh air, look at the unobstructed views of the North Shore Mountains, downtown Vancouver, the neighbourhood, and so on. I parked near Cambie and West 33rd Ave, so I didn't have to pay for parking at the parking lot. read more

Queen Elizabeth Park and the Bloedel Conservatory were gorgeous in April! Such manicured gardens and the enclosed Bloedel Conservatory was so tropical and colorful with beautiful macaws and cockatoos. Early April was a month of more daffodils than tulips, but there were some tulips to enjoy. read more

As of the last few months there's yet another reason to return to Queen Elizabeth - pickleball courts! Even on a rainy day like today, the courts were still dry enough to play on. Tonight the competition was fierce but friendly, and although there are no lights above the courts to speak of I was able to play until 7pm this evening. I'm disappointed to learn that the City of Vancouver did NOT provide nets for the pickleball courts and relies on volunteers to bring their own out. This is not the case for the tennis courts. Furthermore, why are there no lights for evening play? I've been playing in Richmond for the last few months by Hugh Boyd, where they have fabulous newly-resurfaced courts, permanent nets and amazing lighting. It's the perfect game to play during a global pandemic, so I hope someone at the city of Vancouver reads this and does something about it! If you haven't yet tried it, pickleball is a game for anyone. Easy to pick up, low-barrier and for all ages. read more

The park is the highest point in Vancouver with views of the park, city, and mountains. I would say this was the main highlight of my trip. We came during spring, so everything was in bloom. The quarry gardens were nicely manicured. I wished we had a little more time to walk around, but I guess that just means I'll have to return someday. read more

What a beautiful and magnificent place! The Queen Mother would be proud. Queen Elizabeth Park was another park to visit on my Vancouver trip as it was supposed to be the highest point in the heart of Vancouver. This park very easy and close to get to from Downtown Vancouver. It is literally a giant park taking up big block of land. The park is accessible all around. I went to the main entrance since that where I was guided to, and it took up directly to the top. Parking was $2.60/hour, and there was barely any cars there. This park has a bit of everything. There's a restaurant, a Conservatory that you can go to with admission, a beautiful water fountain, tennis and basketball courts, dog parks, and pitch and putt. I went just a couple of weeks ago, and it was the start of the deep fall and towards the beginning of winter. There were fallen leaves everywhere, and that's a feeling I enjoy. This park was so well maintained. There were no leaves along the walkways or grassy areas. Everywhere was clean and spacious, and the trees and plants were trimmed and pruned very nicely. It was definitely a nice place to take a stroll and take in all the fresh air and beautiful scenery. Don't get your hopes too high with the Queen Elizabeth Park being the highest point in Vancouver as you're not THAT high above, but you still have a nice landscape view of Vancouver with a beautiful backdrop of the cloudy mountain range. Just try to get above the trees that's blocking some of your view. The Queen Elizabeth Park is such a wonderful park with many things to do, and it has a nice calming feeling when you're there with all the well maintained trees and plants with the cool temperatures. Perfect for me! You really feel like you are away from the city and in a secluded, off in the distance park. read more

There is a building where you can see plants that needs special care, but this has admission fees. The other two places, large and small gardens, are free. This is a must-do must-see in VAN. The weather is definitely starting to change, but the roses and various flora have clung on for dear life and are breathtaking. The grounds and the scenic canyons and ravines are impossible to describe. This is a gem of a garden. They have a team of dedicated gardeners and horticulturalists who work hard at maintaining this place. Fewer hedges than at Vandusen, this is flower and tree life at it's most beautiful. read more

This is an absolutely beautiful park! I wish I'd had more time to see it properly. I was there for the cherry blossom festival picnic and with a group, so we only did a quick meandering through the grounds after we ate. There were plenty of beautiful trees, blooming flowers, and gorgeous mountain views! There's a large fountain in the park that I enjoyed, too. Walking the paths would make for a great way to unwind in nature or a nice spot for a walk with a friend or a romantic stroll. Next time I'm in Vancouver, I think I'll come back to explore more of what the park has to offer! Ps - the cherry blossom festival picnic was a lot of fun! An assortment of food trucks, local vendor booths and traditional dances to celebrate cherry blossom season made for a great event. So fun! read more

Queen Elizabeth Park is a lovely English style garden where much of it is manicured with florals and shaped. It's very well maintained with clearly paved walkways. The best part is that it's free! I happened upon cherry blossom season during this visit. So, it was extra, extra busy around the trees there. Worth it! It's also the start of tulip season so many are coming out now and many more are on the way. Go if you have a chance! The grounds also have a warm climate observatory for an additional modest cost. No photos allowed. Also look for a water fountain area, a bridge with a mini waterfall underneath, distance mountain/city views, and a pair of statues of camera man and ladies having their photo taken. For me, it's all about the flowers and it's such a great time to visit. Tip: Parking is paid. You might be able to park farther and walk in, but not sure. The park is plenty big so to walk the park and also slow down to take pictures, I suggest paying two hours of parking. read more

A visit to this famous urban landmark park was top on our itinerary during our brief trip to Vancouver. Lots of tourists and families visiting on the long holiday weekend when we came. We parked at the big lot next to the Bloedel Conservatory and walked towards the adjacent gardens. The well placed sculptures were quite impressive. The small Quarry Garden was colorful and lush. While the park's high elevation meant nice panoramic view of the city, it also meant somewhat steep ascent and descent which could be difficult for mobility challenged visitors to navigate. I wish the park could become more disability friend. Better directional signage would help as well. read more

While trying to kill some time before meeting some friends, we decided to take a stroll through QE Park. Free parking (thank god) and a beautiful flower garden to walk around in. It was sad seeing some of the flowers and plants had been completely uprooted and stolen - who does that?! It's one thing to pick a single flower but another thing to take the entire plant... Within the park is plenty to see. There is a conservatory (that costs a minimal fee but per some local recommendations, is worth the cost) that you can take a look at, as well as a restaurant, and the VIEWS! I also saw plenty of people catching Pokémon. I was definitely feeling the FOMO since I had stopped playing a while ago and I also didn't have internet service... should have just paid the $10 for the day in Canada. Definitely worth it for the free garden view and sights! read more

Queen Elizabeth is an art gallery that showcase assortments of plants with breathtaking flowers and foliage. My favourite is the succulents in the shape of a heart. The cactus are amazing too. If you do visit I would advise to bring your camera. read more
