$6 short pour in a very dirty glass.

Looking to throw an event for a bunch of people you hate?? Then my friend, you have found the right venue! The parking lot is so riddled with potholes and dig outs that your guests will certainly need to call road side assistance or go for it and change their own flat tire in their fancy event affaire. Fine wine and spirits??? Definitely not! 4 day old wine in dirty glasses at $6 a pop! (See image attached) Don't even think about asking for that extra oz! Want the whole place to smell like over cooked burgers so your guest leave smelling worse than an indoor fish fry?? You have found your spot!! Godspeed. This place sucks.

Punch table that Anna made for us!

What can I say, I had both my wedding shower here and I loved it so much that I came back and did my baby shower here! Anna did such an amazing job bringing my vision to life and helped me through every step of the way. I was so pleased with some of the new updates they had done to the place as well! Always bringing a fresh new look with the new carpets! I would recommend this place, they gIve so much at such a reasonable price!

It's a small, quaint park perfect for walking with a circular path along the park. There's 2 jungle gym parks for kids across the field, as well! My sister and I did countless loops since this park is a bit on the smaller side. The parking situation is great, too - there's plenty of parking available by the conservatory and the park. The little conservatory was closed when we came, but I definitely wanna come back and check it out! The park's trail goes right by it. There's also a church right next to it, so I saw cute old couples and families with kids still in their church clothes walking around and playing at the park. I'd definitely come back here for a picnic at the park, a nice stroll, or to check out the conservatory!

I was excited to support the local high school's madrigal performance--they were a 5 star act--but the supporting dinner around it was not what I imagined from the Metropolis. 1st service was mulled cider and 2 people at our table were missed so my boyfriend had to flag someone down to get the last 2 mugs filled. (The cider itself was delicious!) The tomato soup and bread course was good, although the soups were served at the same table at varying temperatures. I ordered the chicken for our party of 4 and that was pretty good. I did hear a high school student at the head table ask his parents if they could stop at Culver's on the way home because his chicken was not cooked. The dessert was pretty good, although I do not remember what it is by now. The soft drinks were grab and go cans laid out on the bar over ice. I had no problem with that choice, it was just a little unclear at first if the cans were included with our ticket or not. The coat check staff was quick and efficient. As someone who is not married yet, I had always thought about the Metropolis Ballroom as a possible venue, but after my latest experience, I would probably not consider them in the future.

We had 140 guests, but the venue definitely could have fit more! We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in the same place which was so nice that our guests did not need to travel! The bridal suite and grooms room were both at the venue as well which was so convenient! What really set this venue apart from the others was the team. Rachel Herrera was our Event Producer and she was absolutely amazing. From start to finish she was great to work with! We booked our venue a year out and she was extremely organized, responsive with her email replies, accommodating, kind, and knowledgeable. She provided great insight and suggestions to help ensure our day was as successful and wonderful as it was. On the night of our wedding, Rachel was onsite and as supportive as ever! She also had a Banquet Captain, Mauricio, who was fantastic to work with. Guests are still raving about how great the food was. We were so pleased with the presentation and the quality of the food! We could not be happier with Metropolis and the team that helped create and execute our wedding. We are forever grateful and we would highly recommend this venue and their team to anyone!

They have a daytime area (The Steeple) and a nighttime area (The Biergarten). One is air conditioned / fully indoor while the other is more outdoor, production area vibes. CHECK! Many breweries aren't big enough to offer food. Not an issue here! They have a nice menu and I really liked the BBQ chicken flatbread (perfect size for two). They have close to two dozen beers, seltzers, etc. and out of the 10 we had, they were all pretty darn good. The maibock was our favorite! Be sure to give yourself plenty of time here, you won't want it to be a quick visit. Live music, trivia, etc. offered - check their socials for more info. Thanks to Amanda and Corey for a great reintroduction to Church Street after not visiting for a few years! We can't wait to come back and try more from your beer and food menus. P.S. The on-site parking lot is quite small, but other business lots and street parking is available nearby, especially during events. I tried a sample of their light pilsner and purchased a 12 ounce prickly pear sour. It had a unique flavor to it and wasn't too tart or sour, as I find some to be. I would like to return and try the cranberry sour and German, dry pilsner. Perhaps after "Dry January!" (Hello Mocktails). I did not order any food but I do plan to return and would like to try some of their menu items. I enjoyed sitting at the bar with others and our server was delightful. I have also had their wheat beers which are tasty. Inside the brewery there is a cozy feel and the singing cook in the kitchen was fun to listen to, as he had a nice voice. Check out their fun fan merch for sale too. Happy "Brew Year" all!

There is plenty of space to run around and it doesn't feel crammed even when they are hosting a birthday party like one today. Check in was easy and the punch card offers a good deal at $100 for 4 weekday and 2 weekend punches. We were a bit far from home and our kid was getting restless, so I looked up nearby indoor playgrounds and ended up here. It was $25 since it was a weekend until they closed at 6pm. Our kiddo had a fun time! It's not as gargantuan as some other playgrounds, but they have a baby and toddler area, and it's multi-story so there's a lot of climbing and sliding. They also have an area with a bunch of riding vehicles, and most fun of all was the ball room. I thought a place called ball factory would have more...balls? But the ball room is basically a room with air cannons that let you load and shoot these soft play balls around the room. It's surprisingly pretty fun even for the adults to fire off a few rounds. And as someone who has been to a few of these indoor playgrounds, I'm grateful you don't have to buy their proprietary socks. Like I went to one place that wanted grippy socks - and we had grippy socks, but they weren't theirs! Some places need better insurance policies I guess, so I'm glad the Ball Factory isn't insanely strict. What's also nice is there's a Polish grocery next door, so I grabbed a few items while my wife stayed here. Our only gripe is there could be more seating in the play area for us parents to catch up on our phones, but at least the food area has a lot of space. And kids even get a free ball on the way out! Overall I think we'll come back, but we'll be sure to eat lunch before and dinner after since outside food isn't allowed.
