My father was under the care of Bristol Hospice for several months. He was originally at Westmont Living and we transferred him. There was a nurse, Karla, from Bristol assigned to take care of him. I met her once at Westmont for 30 seconds and have seen her 3 times at his current facility. Of the 3 times I have seen her and inquired about my dad's health, I have gotten this answer...I'm not here to see your dad today. Karla likes to spend her time talking to the manager of the house. They are friends. My dad was graduated from Bristol yesterday. It seems he no longer needed them. Thank GOD!!! The reasons given were pretty cryptic. One I didn't understand at all. The others, he had gained weight. His brief went from an X-Large to a XX-Large. When I asked the house manager about this jump in sizes she said, my dad had complained that his brief was too tight. How about you loosen it? My dad would not have done this. (Never) the last excuse was that he had no pressure ulcers on his bottom. He indeed had 3 pressure ulcers on his bottom that were a stage 2. This isn't good. He also, has an unstageable pressure ulcer on his foot, with necrotic tissue. This is really bad. This last entry on the form regarding no ulcers was made in small letters as an afterthought. I believe this nurse wanted him gone, because she was being questioned about his lack of comfort and basic care. I was given this form at around 1:00 pm on 1/3/23. At the same time there was a wound care nurse from Veterans assessing my dad's condition. She kept looking at me and saying how could she state there are no pressure ulcers? They are right here. I believe Karla totally neglected my father. If you want your loved ones to be comfortable do them a favor and DO NOT use Bristol. I have since spoken to the manager of Bristol. She listened. read more
