During my visit with Dr. Pucan last week I realized that I've been going to her for 21 years! :) So I must not have been having good experiences there right? :D I was referred by a then co-worker, and it turned out her office was right across the street from mine. Both Dr. Pucan and her office staff were very welcoming, and Dr. Pucan was/is very gentle and personable. My visits dropped off during COVID and when I got back on track I had some difficulty adjusting to the changes in staffing and billing documentation. However things seem to be back on track now and we're good! I must add that the waiting area is aesthetically pleasing and I particularly appreciate that I'm almost always called in soon after my arrival, and am not sitting in the waiting area watching other patients, the floors and walls. This was one of the most uncomfortable dental experiences I've had. I came in for a routine cleaning, yet the hygienist didn't floss my teeth, and the visit felt rushed and incomplete. The dentist also encouraged me to quit my job--despite knowing that I work in HR and that my role is demanding--without any meaningful conversation or understanding of who I am or what I do. Even after I shared that I had to euthanize my dog the day before, there was no compassion or sensitivity. Overall, the experience felt dismissive, unprofessional, and lacking basic care. read more

Dr Pucan has been my go to Dentist for a long time. She is very very nice and she is really good with me. I can't even feel the injection. When I need them. Make has a special way to give it and I like her technique. She has really soft hands . She explains things well to me in words I can understand she goes the extra mile and draws things out for me . I'm a visual learner . She give me good advice in preventive measures as well. He office is very clean, and I would say very well decorated. The chairs or ci fort ale and I can watch tv while in there to keep me preoccupied. It's a win all around. You will be happy you visited for she has been wonderful for me and my family . read more

I recently had a root canal done by Dr.Pucan, and I honestly couldn't be happier with how everything went. I was nervous going in, but the staff immediately put me at ease with their kindness and professionalism. From the first time I called to schedule, Koreen was the most sweetest and understanding of how urgent I needed this done due to terrible pain I was going through. She found a way to schedule me at both location (Hercules and Vallejo) for immediate assistance. Dr.Pucan is very knowledgeable, she explained the entire procedure step by step and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I felt genuinely cared for. The root canal itself was quick, virtually painless, and far easier than I expected. Both offices were very clean, modern, and well organized. This is the place to go! No B.S from theae lovely people, my interactions with every employee was good. Ive been to a couple other dentists over the years, the last one was great until mentioning that I thought I was going to need a crown after the Dr said I would just need a filling. when I said that, the Dr. then changed her mind, and wanted to schedule me that instead. I didnt jave any more insurance that year and held off. I got that filling (not crown) dobe through Solano County.. other then that filling, the county Dr. was awful, the year previous I also "needed" to get a deep gum cleaning which I recieved from Western Dental. they absolutely fleeced me for 500 dollars. with those experiences in mind I was nervous about going to yet another dentist. My fears were alleviated immediately by the care I recieved and the frank, honest discourse I had with Dr. Pucan and her team. i have some loose teeth (years of previous neglect) and was worried about needing yet another deep cleaning. When speaking with Dr. Pucan, she told me not to worry about the loose teeth, and explaoned why ahe felt I was over reacting, they then found 2 sections of my gums that were not as healthy, and instead of scheduling the deep clean, she just said that wouldnt be necessary and to get an electric toothbrush. if the problem persisted after six months (previous dentist scheduled another appoitment for 3 months..) she would reasses. I went back for my six month cleaning a couple weeks back, and evsrything was great. in short. Completely awful. This Pucan character has the worst attitude if you're not filipino. I firmly believe she she cares only for clients of certain ethnicities, especially filipino. It is insane seeing how she interacts with them compared to other races. Its just very uncomfortable. It doesn't help that before I made an appointment with her, I've seen her around before interact with customer service in other places and she's absolutely disgusting to them. It's hard to consider the "kindness" genuine when you've seen what its like with the mask off. read more

I'm giving this lady a 1 star. Reason behind this is I took my son there for a cleaning and she had a lot to say and ask. She made me feel real uncomfortable so I felt the need to defend myself. This was our convo... Her: Where do you live? Me: in Benicia Her: why do you live there? Me: what do you mean? Her: why did you chose to live in there and not Vallejo Me: I don't know that's just where I live. Her: so your from there? Me: no I'm originally from the city Her: well how come you didn't move to vallejo instead of Benicia? Me: it's a better place to raise a child Her: so I referred your son to a specialist in Vallejo but it looks like you took him somewhere else. (Hella attitude) Me: yes we took him to get his caps near my house in Benicia Her: I don't know why you didn't take him here in Vallejo So she kept asking all kinds of questions and I was getting annoyed and uncomfortable so I asked her, why all these questions? What does any of this have to do with his visit? Your making me feel uncomfortable and I feel disrespected. She said oh and then stopped with questioning and cut the visit short. I got a letter from her in the mail saying she isn't going to provide anymore services for my son as if I did something wrong. I didn't intend to bring him back anyway! read more

I've known Dr. Pucan since I was, no joke, a fetus. My family had found her after moving to California, and never looked for another dentist. She has been taking care of my family for 30 years - my grandparents, my mom and myself. I'm really bad with the dentist. I went to another dentist.. Once. It was terrible and terrifying. I got a botched cleaning job on my teeth, and I had to pay some random orthodontist $300 to get my permanent retainer back on. Well, thankfully I have insurance her office accepts. When I lived in LA, I would no joke, fly up for the day, get my teeth worked on, and fly home either that night or the morning after. If that doesn't say what kind of dentist Dr. Pucan is, I'm not sure what does. She always works around my complicated schedule, and never does a crap job. She knows my mouth is very sensitive, and does everything she can to make me comfortable. Even though the dentist makes me nervous and anxious, I know with her I'm in a safe place, and good hands. Dr. Pucan is definitely one of the best dentists I've ever had work on my teeth. Over the past decade she has become more of a family friend then just a doctor. She is one of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet and she truly cares about her patients and their teeth health. If you want that family feel dentistry this is the place to check out. Staff is very friendly and Raina at the front is always doing her best to try and find appointments for you to fit your schedule.
