Second time, a year later on a Saturday. Not so great. Same staff, same awesome salesperson. Expect this time there was an "owner" I'm guessing that basically took over. As we were trying on the dresses the awesome salesperson lined up, the "owner" came up and said we can "pay at anytime at the front of the store". I told her that we would come up when we were ready. As with any dress shop there's a place for women to stand on a pedestal with mirrors. Every time my daughter would come out she would stand on there and we would throughly look at the dress. This pedestal was at the far end of the shop. It had a tiny table. Remember that the shop was busy on a Saturday. Upon walking we immediately realized that it was prom season but also there was a bride with her whole family in tow. They were situated at a bigger table, just next to the tiny table that seated four. They had been looking at bridal magazines since we had entered the shop, at the bigger table that had the capacity to seat all of them. It became our luck that we found a prom dress fairly quickly. As I was waiting for my daughter to make sure this dress was the one. The "owner" asked if I could move to the bigger table so the family of the bride could be seated. Remember the tables are practically next to each other... of course I knew we had a dress chosen and I agreed. If we didn't have a dress chosen. I'm not sure that I would have agreed. I didn't understand why I was being ushered away from a table that seated four when it was only my daughter and I. Later I paid for the dress in full and we had a seamstress come over and pin the dress to be altered. The next Friday the dress was ready and the seamstress asked if we could meet at her house. We did and it fit perfectly. She then said that she told the shop we would be coming by to have the dress steamed (which is free, comes with the purchase of a dress). She said we would get a "nicer" bag than she had the dress in. We went to the shop to have the final steaming and low and behold, we got a plastic bag. The bag the seamstress had was better than what we got. Remember that we had been there the year before and then we had one on one time with a salesperson, we got a discount for paying in full, we didn't get ushered off, we got a complimentary bag that her old prom dress still sits in.... Loved the sales lady. We made sure and let her know, we just hope she got the commission.

The ladies at Silk went the extra mile to get my dress to me not only on time, but ready to go when I went to pick it up with smiles! They stayed in constant contact with me and also contacted the designer himself for me so we could get the dress in on time! After I drove 50 miles to get there, the person whom I was supposed to have an appointment with was busy with other people and the girl who was trying to help me made me repeat every dress I requested, then told me that they didn't have ANY of those dresses in their store. Not one that I was told would be ready was there. It would have been courteous to call someone and tell them this information. They definitely lost a purchase to an online store.

The Jeep Rubicon we rented was just what we needed to get around. We headed out to Yankee Boy basin on the evening we received the Jeep. Then we headed out in the morning and went up Old Ophir pass on the way to Telluride. Very beautiful! Then after lunch we headed up corkscrew gulch up to Lake Como and Las Animas on down to Silverton. Not for the faint of heart! So much fun!!
