But he took it upon himself to build a temporary gate in the meantime! So nice of him! A week after he fixed everything, he called to check in to make sure everything was working properly. Couldn't be happier with his work and work etiquette! I would recommend him to anyone who needs anything built/fixed! Thank you, Bernard!

Oops sorry!] I was putting my home up for sale and needed a few small repairs before the home inspection. Well, I totally got my dates mixed up and it turned out that I only had two days to make these fixes (otherwise they'd be marked on the inspection report, which we didn't want! I ended up calling Diablo Valley handyman as they were recommended to me by a neighbor. I called first thing in the morning, and I believe I spoke with the actual owner (James.) I told him my situation and even though it sounded like he had a pretty full schedule, he was able to have somebody up the very next day to not only assess everything, but actually make the repairs! We needed to have a fence repaired , a new staircase hand-railing put up, some minor trim fixes around our windows. And then quite a few window screens needed replacing. (We have cats, lol) The fact that they were able to come out on such short notice, make all the repairs in one day, plus the guys that showed up to do the work were warm and friendly! After all of this, I absolutely expected to pay a high premium, however, the invoice came back for a more than reasonable amount! (It was a bit higher than the original estimate over the phone, but that was our fault because we forgot to tell them about the window screens!) Getting ready to sell a house is maddening and so stressful. Do Diablo Valley handyman was one of the only aspects that put us at ease during this entire process! Unfortunately, we moved quite a bit further away so we fall out of these guys' service zone now, but that's part of the reason why I wanted to make sure I wrote this review.... because I never forgot the awesome service we received!

So when we called Charlie again this past summer to show him our master bathroom remodeling plans, it seemed impossible that he would have time to squeeze in the job on pretty short notice! What makes this tile and stonework artist a stand out is not just his keen aesthetic sense and superlative communication skills, but Charlie's sheer energy, always a fount of enthusiasm, even when the project gets dicey with the missteps of others! On this last remodel, it occurred to me how Charlie could deliver such excellent design, fabrication, and beyond-confident installation, wow, coming in near the low bid! It is his blinding efficiency. Charlie never cuts corners. But he is just so good at his craft he can get the job done so much faster without sacrificing precision. Charlie is more than a contractor -- even a skilled general contractor if the scope calls for that -- but he is an excellent designer, and over the years we have learned to trust his judgment. Charlie has earned that trust. What we appreciated so much is that Charlie will go the extra distance to make sure the finished product meets the highest standards. Our tile sub wound up installing some tile bulging slightly at the top of the pony wall that changed the spec on the quartz top that had already been cut to plan. So when the fabricated pony wall top was first installed, the overhang was just slightly short on one side by a fraction of an inch. Charlie immediately called the guy at the shop, who dropped everything and cut a new piece which Charlie installed the next day without hesitation, and even a smile. We worked with several subs on this remodel, but I could not recommend a single one without reservation, like Charlie. When it comes to countertops, tile, and stonework we-lova Ilova!

He skillfully joined seams in both the countertop and backsplash so that they're practically invisible. Beyond his craftsmanship, Charlie is reliable--he shows up when he says he will, works efficiently, keeps the space clean, and to top it off, he is a genuinely kind person. We couldn't be happier with the results and highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality work and a contractor they can trust.
