Not sure if wearing sandals made a difference, but with him being 4 now he was able to navigate it quite easily. Someone brought a ton of water balloons when we visited so that was a huge hit. The ice cream man always tends to visit and someone from The City of La Habra seems to be seated at tents there. The park part is okay - again, feels a little dangerous when wet kids are mingling with the dry ones and slip on things, but maybe that's just me! The last time we were there there was a guy who seemed homeless just kind of sitting in the park area so we left once my son was done with the water side. Parking is a toss up - we parked at the museum across the street and walked over. Pretty easy, but sometimes we're lucky and get a spot on the street right by the splash pad. I do like that the splash pad is complete enclosed by a gate though! It's a fun place to visit and it's mostly (if not all the way) shaded for the kids. Certain parts of the seating for guardians gets blasted by the son, but the kids seem pretty protected from the rays!

When I visited I saw a strangely leaning tree. Perhaps it was kicked over by an angry child. There are also some mysterious lampposts. The base and post look like your average lamppost, but the actual lamps appear to be advanced technology, perhaps leftover spacecraft parts.

There's a basketball court, 2 tennis courts and lots of grass. Peak hours: There's a preschool next door, so at 10am it gets busy. Also, the unsupervised elementary school kids come after school at 3:30pm. Something to keep in mind if you prefer a quiet park/ don't want to parent random kids during your visit.

There's a small parking lot and plenty of street parking. They have a lot of shady areas to rest and enjoy a cool breeze. There's two playgrounds, one for small children and one for bigger kids. There's a merry go round, rock climbing, jungle gym, swings, and basketball courts. You can bring toys and play in the sand pit. It's very relaxing and the kids and I both enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend this hidden gem.
