TL:DR - You will NOT regret hiring Malcolm for your wedding or event. I promise! I kind of want to plan another large event just to hire him again. This is one of those cases where I wish I could give many more than 5 stars. We hired Malcolm as our wedding DJ in November of 2022 and he was hands down, our best wedding decision (I guess second to the decision of marrying each other?). I couldn't have hired a better DJ and almost 6 months later, I still get unsolicited compliments about him when I talk to anyone who was at my wedding. Malcolm was referred to me by another bride in a Facebook wedding group I'm in. I reached out to him for a consultation, and I immediately liked how warm, energetic and engaging he was (both in email and over Zoom). I immediately felt like he was our friend of many years, sharing the wedding celebration with us. The DJ was a very important decision for us.... I used to work as a wedding server and never liked most of the DJs at weddings I've been to because many of them seem to play the same generic lists of songs, put on pre-mixed lists and then play on their phones (or don't mix at all), or just seem disengaged. During my first meeting with Malcolm, he really seemed like he wanted to get to know us as a couple and tailor his work to our preferences/personalities.... he asked where we were both from and when we graduated high school, what was most important to us, what kind of vibe we wanted during cocktail hour, and lots of other questions. We met a few more times before the wedding and Malcolm gave us invaluable advice (about song selections for mother/son dances, bouquet tosses, and helped us decide between a few jams of the recessional and grand entrance). He was unbelievably detailed, thorough, and informative. I even sent him a list of songs the morning of our wedding and asked if he would be able to work them in, and he did! I trusted him to pick a few songs that we didn't have preferences for, based on his musical expertise, and he totally killed it. He even remembered little details, like me mentioning months before that I love Snoop Dogg. After my first call with Malcolm, I called my now-husband (who couldn't make it) and said, "do we really need to talk to any other DJs or can we please just hire this guy?" And we did! During the actual wedding, the dance floor was never less than packed, with guests of all ages. I saw family members I've NEVER seen dancing, on the dance floor. He took a few requests without any issue (we forgot to add salsa/bachata but it was no problem for him to mix in some jams at the last minute when my husband's family requested it). He nailed the timing on the songs we chose and overall pacing of the wedding timeline. And his fun, positive, infectious energy kept the party raging until we were forced to leave! Malcolm was our best choice for a professional and talented wedding AND MC. I highly, highly recommend him. read more

I have high standards and do not give out referrals to just anyone My client, Jo, who has also become a close friend invited me to also attend her wedding (after I finished doing her hair and makeup).
