I went onto their website, which offered tons of options for far more than we needed, and put together a list of items we would need. i also over-estimated everything because i was told that they could adjust the number down as the date was closer. So I put together a selection and was sent a quote the next day (I put it together on a Sunday and got the response first thing Monday morning). I also had put together a different option to try and figure out what would be cheaper and they had no problem with that and double checked with me when they sent it as to why there were two. As our RSVPs came in and we finalized our number of guests, I emailed them an updated number of items and they quickly adjusted the total for us and we were all set. You have until a week before the event so there you aren't locked in to anything until close to the day of the event. They delivered everything in the window of time they gave us and picked everything up right on time too! Everything was accounted for, linens and chairs looked great and everything went off without a hitch. Definitely will use them again for any future events that we might have.

Our special day was PERFECT from start to finish and DJ Apollo (Mike) played a huge part in making our dream wedding a reality. We met with Mike twice before the event and he made sure we were taken care of for all the time in between. Mike was quick to respond to questions, organized with a day-of timeline, on-point with the tunes, and an absolute champion of making sure we had exactly what we wanted with a killer party. We played games during the reception such as the shoe game and music bingo and Mike did an excellent job of transitioning between each item on the agenda. Another thing that needs to be said is that Mike is just an all-around great guy. You can tell as soon as you meet him that he is kind, genuine, and knowledgeable of his craft. He is an expert at what he does but he also goes the extra mile by getting you whatever you need on your big day. Behind the scenes, Alex and the rest of the Platinum DJ team were the perfect support for all our requests. I cannot imagine any way our night could have been more fun. I would highly recommend Platinum DJ and DJ Apollo to anyone who wants world-class service and peace of mind for their event.

Dan Meiner took a huge old empty warehouse space and turned it into something beautiful, but that…read moreis what he does. What started as a gift and flower shop many years ago in the Crossroads, has grown into an event company that transforms any fete into a modern and elegant affair. The space not only serves as a retail space, but also as an office. Moveable walls and furniture options allow it to be transformed into a beautiful event space at any moment. Dan used many of the modern materials that you see in homes and magazines today, but what really surprised me is the kitchen. Instead of tucking the cooks away from the guests, Dan opted to place a glass window where a wall should be. Guests can enjoy the hustle and bustle of kitchen, which really is, and should be, part of the entertainment. Chefs can finally enjoy the party and get a feel for the crowd, all while whipping up their creations. I can't wait to see what comes of this space. It could be utilized in so many ways. It is a real gem in KC!

I have to say, the only reason I would notice as many details and event observations that I did at…read morea recent wedding here was because I just got married and had to navigate all those (sometimes hilarious) details. This whole place was really cool, from the artsy modern feel to the downtown location. The cocktail reception for this wedding was held in the large area where you first walk in, and while the area was beautiful and allowed natural light to come in from the north end, it was really loud and echoed quite a bit. The bar was in the perfect location, tucked back but also easily accessible. The main portion of the reception was really nice, with lighting that would change every half hour or so. The toasts were easy to hear, the dance floor was big, and there was room to move around throughout. I haven't read on on SDM to find out what all they do, but in regards to wedding planning this seems like a perfectly located, beautiful spot to take a look at.

We originally wanted a string trio for more traditional wedding music, and planned to switch to a DJ after the ceremony. We had a phone consultation with Chris about what kind of music we wanted, and he accommodated us for a late night phone call (despite being a dad with two young kids!) which we really appreciated. My (now) husband and I went over our style of music which was Jazz/R&B and Chris ended up adjusting our day-of trio to a jazz trio, to better fit our music taste. Chris/JM allowed us to request two...uh... *interesting* choices for our processional/recessional. We said "....how do you feel about Outkast 'Prototype' for the processional and a Talking Heads song for the recessional?" and his response was "Awesome." What a weird request - so grateful for Chris for making our choice a reality. Day of, the trio was on time and well dressed. The songs turned out BEAUTIFUL and I had chills walking down the aisle to two incredible songs that meant a lot to me and my dude. The rest of their two hour period was Jazz/R&B style and our guests LOVED it. Lots and lots of compliments on having something a little different and really high end for the ceremony/cocktail hour. We would recommend them again in heartbeat. We spent more on desserts than we did on our trio and we wish we had paid them for longer! Hire them!
