Being able to sit down and plan out everything from the decorations, the seating, and all the way down to the exact menu we wanted in one meeting made everything so stress free. We were able to have 50 of our closest family friends in attendance and the space fit everyone perfectly. We had so many of our guests compliment the food, and the staff here was so amazing in putting together such an amazing dinner for all of us. However, I will say the cream cheese ice cream that I wanted to see if they could recreate (Which they DID) was the biggest hit of the night! The owners are a awesome but they require you to use specific vendors such as Platinum KC which is a DJ service. I was not impressed by them at all and the songs I requested were not played, it put a damper on my reception and people complained all night about the poor selection being played. I was very disappointed by this but I had no other option because I was required to use Platinum because Brookside has a contract with this specific company.

I officiated a wedding here and the parking garage that you're supposed to use across the street is only two stories as it is and for this event you could only use the lower level due to repairs. there's no street parking , was very difficult for a lot of people to figure out where to park when neighboring businesses have "do not park here" signs. It's kind of an all-inclusive place for parties and receptions they supply the tables and chairs and then you just can set it up how you want but they have got to be the worst folding plastic chairs I have ever seen or used in my life and I go to a lot of weddings.

They had some nice signage directing us straight to the to floor. The room is huge and boxy with plenty of large windows that overview the city. Now I know they have a caterer that does the food, but it deserves a shout out. I'm sure it's off a preferred list but they had some very nice BBQ dishes prepared. Because they space is predominately shades of white, you can pretty much decorate it however you'd like. TL;DR The Bauer is a banging event space in KC. Use it.
