I decided to give Andreea a call, and I'm so glad I did. Now, bear in mind, this is no zen spa experience. Don't come in here for dim lights and gentle atmospheric piano. I at one point compared it to childbirth (in a learning to be present with discomfort way, not in a dear god there's a human exiting me way). It was intense. But immediately afterward, I sat up and scratched my back. Big whoop, you think? Indeed. I hadn't been able to do so without pain in at least six months. This was an investment, but Andreea got the job done in a single session. I even asked if I needed to come back, and she was completely transparent that she didn't think I needed to, but of course was welcome back if anything came up in the future -- zero upselling pressure. We both got swedish massages with medium pressure. The pressure was very light for both of us and it didn't feel like it truly relieved much tension. Neither of us felt very relaxed after the service. However, the biggest thing for me was the sheer amount of oil used. I left with my skin feeling wet and my hair became incredibly oily from all the oil on my shoulders and neck. I want to feel moisturized after a massage but I was literally soaked in oil and I spent the rest of our anniversary with my hair looking practically wet from all of the oil. I went to a nearby cafe and used their sink to wash the oil out of my hair and it was still so oily. I've taken a shower now and I am still oily!! My phone is covered in it too. Lastly, I also got the jet lag eye treatment and it was just a small eye sheet mask for $15. Needless to say, we don't plan to come back. Very sad it didn't work out better.
