Also this Rehab did NOT give my mom a shower Mondays and Thursday even after complaining night after night!!!! "IF" I did NOT complain to the RN in person, this Rehab would NOT have given my mom one, UNACCEPTABLE!!! You need to provide your own camera! It is scary to leave the care of a loved one in someone else's hands but, Arden Courts has proven to alleviate all of those fears. The staff is always ready and able to answer my questions and keep me posted on my cousin's condition. I was particularly impressed with their level of care during the pandemic. Not only did my cousin not contract COVID, but the COVID rate in general at the facility was extremely low to non-existent. I often speak to Kathy and/or Diane when I have questions or concerns and they could not be more helpful and patient. I also talk to the staff when I visit, and they are always friendly and keep me informed as to my cousin's ups and downs. I highly recommend Arden Courts for anyone who finds themselves in the unfortunate situation of having to find care for a loved one.

My father was a resident there for about four years. Although he was never happy at this facility, I could not talk him into moving until recently. When he finally moved, the meals he received was greatly improved, the care he received was so much better, and all services were performed to an exceptional level compared to Emeritus at Wayne. I only experienced the facility in Wayne, but it seemed as the conditions there were a result of the way the entire corporation is run. The staff at the Wayne facility was constantly changing, some of which was due, in my opinion,to the working conditions. I was told of many cases where the Aides were made to work extra hours for insufficient pay. One star is too good for this place.

From the moment I tried to provide the official court documents proving my mother is my grandmother's legal medical guardian, Carmen blocked us at every step. I handed her the court papers myself, yet Carmen refused to acknowledge them and demanded "original documents," a requirement that does not exist under New Jersey guardianship law. Carmen continues to treat my uncle as the authority, even though he is not the medical guardian. This is a serious breach of protocol and raises questions about what unauthorized paperwork Carmen is relying on. During my Mother's Day visit, my grandmother's hearing aids were not in -- again. When staff finally put "hers" in, they were broken and not even her pair. A staff member admitted they only let her hear when my uncle is present, and Carmen allows this abusive restriction. Denying a resident the ability to hear unless a specific family member is present violates the New Jersey Nursing Home Residents' Bill of Rights and deprives her of basic communication. er hair and facial hair were unkempt, and when I offered to cut her hair -- something she has always allowed -- Carmen's staff refused and treated me with hostility. Their priority was keeping me away, not caring for her. Even after sending the court documents again, Carmen still refused to acknowledge the legal guardian and continued blocking access.
