Several times nobody showed up to our home to help care for my 91 year old father, and the staff didn't bother to let us know they had not found a caregiver to fill the request. I cannot recommend this company because of the poor communication and failure to follow through on requests for care.

The staff was very proactive in finding the right caregiver to meet our needs and we were very pleased to have been assigned a caregiver who was compassionate, kind, and did a wonderful job managing my husband's changing needs over the past 18 months. The scheduling staff was very thorough and responsive to emails and calls. Home visits were scheduled periodically to check in on the dynamics between my husband and our caregiver. We recently terminated services only because my husband has progressed to the point that he no longer requires a daytime caregiver, but Assisting Hands was there for us in a time of great need and we were most appreciative for the great service!

We hired Senior Helpers for my son with CP. He needed daily help for 2 weeks when we were away on a…read moretrip. He was supposed to have someone with him for 8 hours a day. The workers changed frequently, they showed up late, left early or one day did not show up at all! He was left in bed in his wet diaper with no meal until our friend went to check in on him in the afternoon. Every day the workers put him in the recliner and left him sitting there for 8 hours, they never took him for a walk, they never gave him a proper shower, just used wipes to clean him up. They always came up with excuses not to do the job. They did not spend time with him to keep him company, but stayed in another room in front of their laptop. We had to have friends and family come in daily to help properly care for him. Senior helpers did not do the job, they put in minimal effort and were very unprofessional.

Do NOT use Senior Helpers…read more My grandmother was promised 1-2 Helpers, but instead received a parade of different Helpers each time. One grossly unprofessional Helper not only drank alcohol on the job, but refused to do her job (i.e. Help my grandmother with basic tasks) - claiming that she was only there to "provide company." The management (Stephanie Lacher) was extremely defensive - refusing to even explore the possibility of gross employee misconduct - and egregiously accused us of creating this story to "get out of the contract." If you care about your family, I would highly recommend pursuing alternative options.
