It turned out to be a nightmare. After 3 days, we were told they needed to discharge him because he did not meet "Medicare criteria" for in patient hospice. Within six days, we had plans for the move to a freestanding facility. My husband passed away the night before the move was to take place. The day before the move was to take place, Hospice in Branford called to make arrangement to move him to their facility and that he "met the criteria". This experience was traumatizing to me and my family. I would discourage anyone from using this organization for their loved one.

Finally had to go to court to try and get my money back. So buyer beware they will NOT return any extra payments. I would advise anyone to only pay as you go when things are about to end for your loved one. The office doesn't care to return anything without a fight. My parents were determined to live in their big, old house as long as possible and they did, well…read moreinto their 90s. My mother's sudden illness and my father's ongoing decrease in mobility created the situation that they could no longer live in a multi story house independently. We were so fortunate that they had looked into Brightview on New Canaan a month or so before my mother's illness. Within two weeks of the decision to move, and a week after my mother's return from the hospital, they were moved into a bright and sunny 2 bedroom apartment at Brightview. It was an emotional roller coaster for them and it took a team approach by the rest of the family to get all the furniture and their belongings moved in. The staff at Brightview are incredible and make sure that my parents feel valued and are safe and happy. Michele was indispensable in making the transition as smooth as possible. While my parents miss their house and all the living that went on it for 57 years, they now call Brightview their home. They have been there about a month. On my recent visit, I took them around town on errands. Upon return to Brightview and entering their apartment each time, they're expressions were of familiarity and contentment. They were home.
