We entrusted Amanda Senior care to coordinate home care needs for our…read more mom. She is a fairly active 98 year old with some physical challenges with her daily activities. Amanda Senior Care provided our mom with consistently reliable, kind, and very professional in home care providers. This was during the pandemic ; their safety protocols with their staff and management of moms care was excellent. Our mom has high standards for who she allows to be part of her care team in her home. The two care givers Amanda's provided her with were "5 star", kind, patient and very attentive. (There was never a NO Show day or cancellation by one of the care givers, which we have experienced from other care services.). The care aides assisted with morning dressing, bathing, meal prep, PT exercises and really anything else to get mom's day off to a cheerful and positive start. I would say the admin. of the business exceeded our expectations , the in-home care aides they provided for mom were exemplary and we intend to continue to use their services .

I'm sorry to say our experience with Whitehall was not a good one. First, the facility is dated and…read moreis in desperate need of repairs to the walls, and it needs to be painted. I only mention this since it's the first impression you get when you go into the facility. The good: the people working there in skilled nursing, physical, and occupational therapy seem to truly care about the patients. There are two main problems: (1) the food is awful, and (2) they don't have enough staff to support the patients. We were there with an older relative who had a knee replacement. She was not able to, or supposed to get up on her own and even needed help to go into the restroom. While we were there the first day, she hit the call button and we waited so long for someone to come to help her, she almost soiled herself. I had to go out of the room and find someone who could assist. The first night she was there, again she hit the call button for restroom assistance. Again, she waited to the point where she got up herself. Of course, someone one day out of knee surgery shouldn't do that, but it was that or soil herself so she got up. She made it to the restroom before she fell, requiring a trip to the ER. The next day, we talked to one of the therapists who explained they had someone call in sick the day before, requiring the facility to move someone off of our floor to a different one. This left her the only person monitoring the patients on our floor. They couldn't keep up with the patients. The next day, we spoke with a manager who contradicted the aide saying she didn't know why we were told they were short staffed and said they weren't. That was when I realized we couldn't rely on them to take care of her and decided she should be moved back to her assisted living facility and hire skilled nursing and physical therapy. I cannot in good conscience recommend Whitehall. I see similar comments in some of the other reviews, which I should have read before placing her there. I am terribly disappointed and even though moving her and hiring the help ourselves was much more expensive, I couldn't keep her in a facility where I couldn't count on the care. Oh - I gave them three stars rather than one or two because of the quality of the therapists. If they weren't good, my rating would have been much lower. Also, I see enough pictures of the facility posted that I didn't think I needed to take any. The ones posted by reviewers are pretty spot on.

They have helped her to become more independent while keeping a positive mindset when she is struggling. I think what's most impressive is the entire facility works together to give residents a feeling of belonging and a sense of control whenever they can. The facility makes an effort to celebrate anything and everything which gives the residents something to look forward to. Today they took a group of residence out to see a movie. What a huge lift, but they made it happen. I have a lot of experience with long-term care facilities and this one really knocks it out of the park. Throughout my time at Freedom Home Care, I had the privilege of working alongside many dedicated…read moreand professional staff members. However, I've encountered several challenges stemming from management practices that I believe warrant attention. Specifically, a scheduling supervisor used her authority in a manner that was not only vindictive but also detrimental to my well-being. This resulted in unwarranted removals from schedules, blocked shifts, and unfounded explanations that ultimately created significant hardship for me. It is essential for a company that prides itself on providing medical and personal care staffing to treat its employees with respect and dignity. Unfortunately, my experience felt contrary to this principle. On multiple occasions, I was asked to accept shifts that required lengthy commutes, transforming my role into something akin to that of an "Uber driver" rather than allowing me to engage in meaningful caregiving. One particular incident stands out: I was sent to a location where no client was present, as the company had arranged a ride without confirming the appointment. After attempting to contact the "24-hour emergency line" for over half an hour without any response, I found myself needing the assistance of police officers to reach the correct site. This experience highlighted the inadequacies in communication and support within the company, and to my disappointment, I received no acknowledgment or apology for the distress it caused. When I resigned, I requested to receive my final paycheck for all hours worked, yet I only received payment for one day. HR informed me that the remaining pay would be processed in the next pay period, which seemed inconsistent and unfair. Such practices may undermine the trust and morale of employees who are dedicated to their roles. I genuinely believe that Freedom Home Care has immense potential to create a positive impact in the lives of both its clients and staff. To realize this potential, it is crucial to foster a culture of empathy, clear communication, and fair treatment throughout the organization. These changes would not only benefit employees but ultimately enhance the quality of care provided to clients. I would not recommend anyone to work here - I forgot to mentioned; one time their was a post to clean up urine and feces only, and to bring your own cleaning equipment - needless to say -I am not "the help", I would never recommend anyone to work under this administration - company

My mother was in Hospice at Brandel till about a week ago due to her passing. I would like to point…read moreout that during her stay that the majority of the staff showed a great deal of care and empathy so she could feel comfortable in her final days. Almost all those who cared for her when I was present did so in a very professional manner upon my observation. Overall I feel it is an excellent facility though I do have a few questions. I noticed that there are not any cameras there. One morning when I arrived earlier than usual and there was a situation I found alarming in my mother's room so I approached the only staff I saw present at the time to alert her. The staff member did not seem happy that I pointed what I saw out and was belligerent. I wanted to report this yet when I tried I was told that the staff member said I invaded her personal space which I didn't and that there were witnesses. Actually though I never invaded her space and since her and I were the only ones in the room I don't see how there could have been witnesses. Saying this though highlights the fact that if there were cameras it would allow those in charge to see what really happened. Safety inside and outside of facilities like this is important for many reasons.
