We've been at Brighton for only two months, but I can tell you I love living here. It's gated, it's quiet, the grounds are kept excellent and the indoor and outdoor pool are great bonuses. They have events each month, which are a great way to meet your neighbors. The office staff is amazing and will go above and beyond for you if you have any issue with your apartment or townhome. The insides are a little dated, but well kept especially for the price. I really do enjoy living here! read more

My fiancé and I have been living here since August and we love it overall! I feel like it's a little gem inside of Nashville. We feel safe in the community and love the amenities- especially the indoor pool and jacuzzi!! Maintenence is super great. The only issues we've really had are with brown recluse spiders however the complex has great pest control which comes by often and as needed which has definitely helped the issue. As someone who uses transportation frequently, I'm pleased with the convenience of bus stops. The only thing is the lack of sidewalks outside the complex in getting to these. I love the convenience of having Kroger and Starbucks a short walk away. Overall we love the location, staff, and beauty of Brighton for the price! read more

I love this apartment complex. It's tucked away from the main road so it feels a bit safer. I love that there's an indoor pool, as well as the gym. And the staff here is amazing. They throw events for the residents a few time a month. And they're always willing to help with any questions we have. The other tenants here are incredibly friendly as well. read more

This is the absolute worst apartment complex I have ever had to deal with. Renters beware. We lived there for 2 years, paid rent on time, even continued to pay for rent, water, electricity that we were not using after we moved out in March. Lease was not up until June so we were reasonable about it. Vacated, left the place immaculate (pics to prove it) and then received a "Final Account Statement" with a charge for a "dirty oven." Please. Petty and false. This unit was left in better condition than when we moved in and they will not be getting another dime from us!! If your unit is left in pristine condition (please refer to pics of how we left it), this complex will go out of their way to find something trivial and will attempt to charge you for it. After submitting a non-renewal of lease letter in March, I spoke with Harmonie who stated she checked our file, we paid a security deposit in the amount of $1,095 and we would get that back at the end of our lease as long as there were no damages to the apartment. Fast forward to the end of the lease and the "Final Account Statement" indicating $0 for a "deposit on hand." When I called her about this, suddenly it became a "non-refundable bond." It is a good complex for where it is and it's quiet. They advertise it is in a great location but because of Murfreesboro Pike it takes 20-30 minutes to get anywhere before considering traffic. I feel rents are a little outrageous for the area, especially when the rest of Nashville is going down read more

I love living in this community. The Brighton Valley leasing office staff is amazing. They are understanding, professional, polite and go above and beyond to make our life here fun. There are always great activities and extra things they do for the residents (even though I do not always get to attend because of a crazy work schedule lol) I've only had to call maintenance for a few things and they have always been timely and professional. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere...I sure wish I had. My fourteen month experience here was awful. First, my assigned apartment (581 Brooksboro Terrace) was unavailable to view until I picked up my keys, and what I found was completely disheartening! The foundation is not level...at all. Often, the refrigerator door would bang open and hit the wall if not closed completely due to the awful lean in my entire apartment, and all my lamps leaned sideways. Also, the apartment smelled of mildew. Initially, I was told this was a paint smell, which I later realized was a lie. Which brings me to the second point, I had a leak in my ceiling in February. I immediately reported it, and their response was for someone to come out and poke holes in the ceiling and add more buckets. Two days later, they apparently fixed the outside leak (presumed only because water stopped leaking in the various, strategically places buckets), but the inside was never repaired. Despite contacting management about this and being told that a contractor would be coming on a specific day to repair any damages and do any drywall repair, no one ever came. When I moved out on May 30th, there were still large holes in my ceiling. Oh, and while I was waiting on Janey to find time to chat with me about this issue, I heard the maintenance man and staff laughing at and talking about a woman who called in to complain because she had stayed home from work all day to wait on drywall installation, and the contractor never showed up, and she could not keep waiting nor could she miss another day of work. They told her to "just leave" because her property was insured and were annoyed when this response did not satisfy her. Third, there were several nails/large staples poking from the carpet which often painfully stabbed me in the foot, forcing me to evade those areas when I walked through. Fourth, the apartment manager, Janey, is very rude and unprofessional. On multiple occasions, I would attempt to speak with her and be left waiting 30+ minutes. On one occasion, I finally spoke with her about a few concerns, and although she promised to have a response for me within a day, several months have passed, and I never heard from her. Fifth, they gouge you on rent prices, despite the mediocre nature of the apartments, which have not been updated structurally in probably over 15 years. If I had been desperate enough to resign the lease, I'd have been expected to pay an additional $125 per month for the displeasure. I was told that all the townhouses in the area were in this price range, and upon further research, I learned that they were all managed by the same realty company: Freeman Webb. I don't know about you, but in my opinion, management companies colluding to raise prices for all the townhomes in a given area is not equivalent to fair market value. Lastly, and so VERY IMPORTANT, beware of the surety deposit!!! It's the only option here and, because these people are scam artists, they WILL nickel and dime you at move-out. They sent me a $529 bill on June 21 at 5:00 p.m., and told me that I had to pay it by JULY 1ST!!!!! Because you paid a bond (similar to the type of bond people post to a bail bonding company to get out of jail), they'll just submit their inflated charges to the bonding company within days of sending you a large bill, giving you days to pay it. If you dispute any of the charges, you'll be forced to deal with a bonding company instead of the apartments because, despite what they say in their correspondence, they'll be too busy to answer your call, and if they do, they will not reduce their ridiculous charges. Overall, I really enjoy living here. Yes, the front gate is kind of annoying. But it's mostly the fault of tenants and guests who don't use it properly. My townhouse is great. The floors are little lopsided and the kitchen is small, but you get used to it. I love the back patio and that I am near the tennis court and there is a tranquil stream in my backyard. The complex is clean, the people who live here are very nice and don't create trouble. Maintenance is very quick to fix anything that is broken, although sometimes they don't fix it properly and they have to come back a second time. The pools are great! Love them! Plus the gym is nearby and all within walking distance. I'm very happy living here. It's not perfect, but you can't seriously expect perfection. There is room for improvement, but in general it's a great place to live in a great location. read more

Maintenance doesn't do a very good job at making sure things are fixed but they are quick to respond. Love the Brighton Valley community and amenities. Everyone is respectable and friendly. This is my favorite apartment complex I've ever lived in! The management is so kind and helpful, same with maintenance and very efficient, and the neighbors are great too! The amenities are awesome, including and indoor and outdoor pool, a hot tub, a small gym, and grills around site. They allow pets and have a dog park too! We have loved staying here for the past 2 years! It's a very quiet and safe community. The townhouse is so spacious and is the perfect layout. Also, an indoor/outdoor saltwater pool and jacuzzi are really hard to find in Nashville (it's definitely a game changer). Our dog loves this place too with all of the dog parks and grassy areas. For the price, it's definitely worth it, and management is always friendly and available. read more

Cannot wait until my lease is up. The gate, extra speed- bumps, and arm at the gate are a a HUGE inconvenience! When people are trying to access gate, if their party doesn't, for whatever reason, buzz them in, there is no place for them to go. Everyone must back-up so they can back-up as well, or you have to exit your own vehicle, and open the gate yourself. At times, when sitting and waiting for gate to open at night, I didn't feel safe. Pedestrians standing right beside my car waiting on gate to open because there isn't an entrance. I have actually had to climb the gate to get out myself when going on a walk and forgot access card. My ice-maker barely works even tho they have"fixed" it many, many times. The lay-out of the unit itself is horrible. read more

JANINE - WORST PROPERTY MANAGER EVER!!! My fiance and I have had a fairly good experience here for the last 2 & 1/2 yrs with the property and the residents. Always heard grumblings about how bad the office could be to deal with from other residents, but never had a problem with them in the past. This is the first review I've ever written, which should tell you I'm not one to complain, but I found my last experience with the property manager here to be inexcusable. You have until the 5th of every month to pay rent and we have never missed a payment or had a late fee... that is until this month when the apartment complex's payment system rent.com had technical issues. We informed the office that are balance was showing only $122.23 and that is incorrect. Speed forward 1 week we've had communication with the office and they keep telling us to keep looking at rent.com for the correct balance and then to pay it and not to worry about the 10% late fee because we've had good communication with them. Today I receive a threatening voicemail at 12:30 informing me that we now will owe 10% late fee and will be turned into their attorney at 1pm for processing. Went into office to resolve b/c money is not an issue and thought this was a simple miscommunication that could be resolved rather easily with good customer service. It went south real quick; the property manager Janine had an attitude that it was my fault for not paying on time and treated me with 0 respect after I've been a great resident for 2 & 1/2 yrs with no issues. My husband and I have lived here for almost 4 months. We really like the apartment that we are in (they call it a townhome), but we do have some complaints about the neighborhood. There are usually lots of children running around with their parents nowhere to be seen. There have been times I've been woken in the middle of the night by people being loud, but that has settled some since the neighbors from two doors down moved. There are lots of dogs in this neighborhood and lots of people that let their cats out during the day. It is a gated community, however the gate is broken most of the time and be ready to have a lot of people call your phone when trying to enter the gate. The system allows guests to look up names and have the system call that person to buzz them in the gate. We get at least one call a day from this. They have two pools: one is an indoor salt water pool (a little too warm for me) that stays open year round and an outdoor pool that is average size for an apartment complex. Neither are usually very crowded. If we had it to do over again we would hold out for one of the townhomes on the back of the property on top of the hill. It seems quieter and more quaint in that area. Oh and if you have AT&T the service here sucks. Not sure about any other carriers though. read more

I've lived here for almost 2 years and have had recent problems. This apartment complex sprays massive amounts of weedkiller and pesticides on the lawn and near the balconies, They literally spray this by the truckload in the spring and it smells like the Raid aisle at Wal-mart. My dogs have been having constant rashes ever since. I would avoid this apartment complex if you have pets, small children or have any children or adults with respiratory problems. read more

My experience from the beginning was great. Was a slight misunderstanding with which apartment that was available for my specific needs. But was quickly taken care of. I had a few issues with in the townhome, and notified the office. All items was taken care of in a very timely manner. The office personnel have been nothing but gracious and polite, as I in return try to be. Have not meet only a few people in the complex, all that II have meet have been friendly and helpful. Love to get to know people in the complex. try always to say hello. I have not been to the pool yet, still setting things up here in the townhome. so hope to meet soon possibly sonn at the events schedule for Friday evening (Brats & Brews). After being relocated to Nashville suddenly this complex was the only one that would accept my very large dog which I will always be grateful for however, living here was a nightmare. Pest control was absolutely horrible! Pest control only came to my apartment one time within the 9 months of living there. Unless you don't mind drug deals going on in the breezeways I wouldn't recommend you live here. There was also tenants using drugs right outside their apartment doors, even leaving drug paraphernalia out for people to see outside as well as on coffee tables within their apartments. The noise situation in the apartment is extremely bad. You hear everything in the other apartments that surround you. DO NOT plan on keeping all your stuff here since there is very little storage for anything you have. Animal waste was left all over the ground, but the worst thing about living here is the office staff itself especially Janie the office manager. She is extremely RUDE and treats her tenants as if there were garbage and had no brains in their heads. She acts as if she is superior to everyone else, even the men who were contracted to change the windows and sliding glass doors in the apartments said that she was rude to them as if she were doing them a favor. The complex also only has approximately 6 handicap apartments with actual handicap access to the front door. The parking lot is a nightmare. If you don't get home before 5 don't expect to get a parking spot anywhere near your building unless you live in one of the townhomes which have about 4-5 spots for each townhome. Rent is pretty high for the area of Nashville it is in as well. The owners of Brighton Valley seem to think that these apartments are luxury while the area itself is mediocre. Cheap paint, mold, bugs, no parking, old bathroom fixtures are not my opinion of luxury. If you put lipstick on a pig it's still a pig just like putting new paint on Brighton Valley's walls don't make them luxury. The only fantastic thing I can say about Brighton Valley is Mike the Maintenance man was always on the ball when you called about repairs. read more
