First time getting an Ikon pass and going to Brighton. Have to say.. SLC has had some of the best mountains and it's so convenient to get to!!! I will say.. the night before it snowed and also snowed on the way when we drove to the mountain the next morning. Traffic was insane cause traction laws were in effect, but when we got the mountain, it was a good time! Awesome views, tons of snow and beautiful long yet challenging runs! (Blue runs). Parking was not full when we went and we got super lucky with reserving a parking pass. Bathrooms are clean, establishments for food were also clean! We always pack lunches so I don't know how the food tastes, but looks like they have salads, sandwiches, etc. All staff members were super friendly too!

One of my favorite resorts to ski at! The views are impeccable and I truly feel at peace in these trees. The staff is very helpful and everyone on the mountain is courteous. The only thing I would say is that I wish they had better food options. I'm sure in the cold temperatures. It could be hard to get supply up there though. One of the best ski resorts in Utah.

Brighton was one of the first ski resorts I visited after moving back to Utah, and it's definitely a classic. I believe it's one of the oldest ski resorts in the state, and it has that laid-back, no-frills vibe that makes it great for a casual day on the mountain. Getting there can be a bit of a hassle--there was a long line of cars heading up the canyon, and the parking lot was pretty packed. But once we got on the chairlift, things smoothed out. The snow was decent, and the groomed runs were okay, not the best I've ridden, but still enjoyable. I dipped into the trees a bit, and while it's not as heavily wooded as some other resorts, it still made for a fun ride. I'd say Brighton is a solid option for intermediate skiers and snowboarders, and the views are absolutely beautiful. Plus, nightboarding is a really fun and unique experience here, definitely worth checking out.

Brighton is a winning resort. From an outsiders perspective, it may look or sound like a small snowboarder centric mountain but there's much more to Brighton's excellence. Yes it's the not the largest and yes the terrain isn't INSANE but it secretly excels with strong glade terrain. Being in the big cottonwood canyon the snow is world class

Brighton has been my go-to ski resort for about a decade now, and I'm proud to call it my homebase. I've always said that if Alta is for skiers only, Brighton should be for snowboarders only, but a girl can only dream. The runs are maintained and groomed nicely and everyone that works there seems to love their job. Plus, their new lift up Crest is super speedy and spacious! The only downsides to this resort are the pricey food options and due to growing popularity and tourism, the parking situation can put you in quite a pickle. I know plenty of people who have gotten turned around from arriving too late and the parking lot being full. You can reserve a spot online for some peace of mind! Besides these things, I absolutely love Brighton and it holds a very special place in my heart - not only in the winter, but year-round!

Lots of moose today on my favorite hike in the Wasatch - the 6 mile out and back from Brighton to Sunset Peak. On Sundays, there's a farmers market and bands playing on the mountain side until late afternoon.

Last night was a memorable experience at the Brighton Resort Campfire Cookout. The delicious food and refreshing mountain air created the perfect atmosphere. These dinners are hosted only a few nights a month at Millie's Chalet and the perfect date night. The food is served family-style, so you get a taste of everything on the menu unless you have any specific preferences. We did not leave hungry.

Ohhh I love Brighton greens so much. These were perfect for our fourth and sixth times skiing. They are also open for night skiing now. Keep in mind, if you take the bus, the evening intervals get a lot longer with the last bus leaving at 8:22 with the one prior leaving before 6. Parking is $20 if you don't have a Brighton pass. We didn't buy any food here but the lodge is very roomy downstairs for resting and eating snacks if you brought them. Ski lessons here are retry reasonable as well at $350 for five two hour lessons. This seems to be the lowest in the city. They even have black diamond lessons.

Nice resort. Good powder! The slopes are long and wide, perfect for practicing turns, stops and speeds if you're an intermediate skier. The parking lots are terrible! Enjoy walking on slippery ice!

    Great views!

This was my first season skiing, and my first time here I made the mistake of going up Gadzoom and Little Cloud chairs and got cliffed out in Little Cloud Bowl with all the black diamonds. I wasn't going to call ski patrol to take me down in the basket like my friend did at the top of Gadzoom after having a panic attack, and slowly, tediously made my way down. It was quite the adventure, looking back. I couldn't believe how long it took and how much distance and vertical drop I covered to get to the bottom; the runs here are some of the longest I've been on. One benefit of this resort over Alta is not needing parking reservations during weekends, which saved my ski day one Saturday I tried going to Alta without a parking reservation, then had to come here after talking to the parking attendant there putting $250 tickets on cars without reservations. The skiable area is massive here as well, and there's a whole other skiable side of the mountain (Mineral Basin) with breathtaking views you get to by taking this conveyer belt thing through a secret mining tunnel. The hoards of snowboarders do cause way more lines and congestion here than Alta, and I had to wait in line for a while for the tram on a Saturday. Luckily I soon found the secret tunnel I won't disclose the location of, and was able to ski at Mineral Basin with no lines the rest of that day. There's a lot more moguls and worse snow coverage here than Alta as well, though this year was an extreme outlier and the worst snow year in 4+ decades. It's a shame the Ikon pass only has 7 days to split between here and Alta, as I used up most of my days at Alta and didn't get a chance to explore all the different areas of this vast resort this season.

Little cottonwood canyon receives (objectively) the highest quality snow in the world (And a lot of it!). Some of the hardest, gnarliest terrain in the world is found across the entire resort. Some of my favorite adolescent memories reside here, and snowbird will always hold a special place in my heart. I could go on and on about the endless pros and minimal cons, but I believe every passionate skier deserves to experience the magic of the Wasatch mountains for themselves... With this being said, snowbird is NOT a family friendly or beginner mountain. There are an extremely low number of beginner/intermediate trails, and even these can get bumped up...

The last time I went it was snowing while sunny out somehow, with the sun shining through the storm clouds above, and felt surreal. This was my first season skiing, though this is hands down the best ski resort I've been to so far. One time this April I made the mistake of crossing over into Snowbird's Mineral Basin, and the conditions were so much worse for just being on the other side of the ridge. It was way hotter, sunnier, and more crowded, with way more rocks, moguls, and dirt spots littering the runs, so I crossed back into Alta after 2 runs. The runs at Alta are wide and well groomed, so you can pick up some serious speed without feeling like you're risking your life doing so. Late season there was barely anyone else there too, even while it was snowing somehow (likely an effect of not allowing snowboarders). The staff here are top notch and always professional, and Alta has some of the best chairlifts I've seen. Another huge plus is how close you can park to the points at which you get on the base mountain chairlifts, as walking in ski boots while carrying skis is no fun. You can literally ski right up to your car at the end of the day if you park in the right spot. They also have a rope tow from base to base, which saves you from possibly having to take the bus at the end of the day to the other base. The only hiccups here were the requiring of parking reservations on weekends, and the pass scanner machine midway up Collins Lift not reading my Ikon Pass with no worker nearby to help, so I'd have to ski down to the bottom and take the lift all the way up.

There are no passenger elevators, so trekking up and down the stairs with luggage without being "climatized" to the altitude is a challenge. It should be noted the staff will assist you with your luggage if necessary. Regarding the location, it is fantastic. The views are incredible; it literally looks like a post card. Although not skiing season, there are lifts (not in operation due to summer) everywhere. I imagine it gets pretty packed and crazy during the winter. Hiking opportunities are everywhere right outside the lodge. We went on a "novice" hike that took us to the top of a mountain like eight miles away. OMG. As part of the wedding party and my officiant duties, there were multiple breakfast and dinners organized by Alta Lodge. The staff was fantastic, and the food was good. Alta Lodge also has a weekend brunch that attracts people from all over the area. The brunch was top notch! Regarding the accommodations, we had a fireplace, balcony, and a view of the mountains. It was a great sight. Our room did a have a bad smell (as did other rooms in our group) that I believe is the result of months/years of moisture in the carpet, drapes, and wood. This is the only thing I did not care for. Only other issue is the front desk is not occupied 24/7, and anyone can walk off the street and into the hotel. I would recommend better security. Overall, the customer service and quality of wedding organizer made up for the two issues noted above. Again, the service at Alta Lodge was excellent!
