After many emails back-and-forth, there was still no order under my account nor a tracking number. They finally sent me a tracking number and the product was on the way. The order label was created, but USPS did not receive it for a week. But still no order listed under my account. They stated that the order was under a different email address, one that was deleted 10 years ago. 'Shop' payment processing requires a verification code sent via that email address, so I do not know how this even happened since I could not have received the verification. They did apologize for the shipment delay. read more

I bought Majirel hair dye from them. Disappointing experience. I have been using Majirel for many years already, and my hair is usually left feeling smooth and dense after coloring. However, after using the dye I purchased from them, the effect was the exact opposite, my hair became dry, rough, and dull. The creme itself looks different and have different texture. No matter how hard I try, the hair dye doesn't fully mix with the developer and there is still small clumps. I looks like a cheap version of originally high quality product. I will definitely not be purchasing this hair dye again! read more

Horrible.Bought a mascara and it expired, and dry and the cashier didnot even hesitate to sell it to me.dont buy beauty products from there.

I have ordered from Brighton Beauty Supply multiple times and have always had a great experience. The deliveries were timely, product was in good condition when I received it and the prices were very fair. read more

BrightonBeauty is solid! Product selection is fantastic. I've never experienced shipping issues. I live relatively close by so when I'm not lazy (getting everything shipped) I hit the store and again nothing negative to say. Staff were helpful: in and out no problem. I agree with Janine W. about online communication but like she said have patience. You're not shopping Amazon so give them a second to get back to you. read more

I always had great experience with my online orders! Always on time and always packed so well that nothing gets damaged! Thank you BBS!

I have used BBS for years now. I like to purchase supplies locally and they are one of the few that carry Goldwell. Yes. I can order on Amazon but I try to support NY/NJ businesses as much as possible. Their customer service person-to-person is non existent and communication is strictly by email, so be patient. The email confirmation of your order goes out right away, but follow up is needed on the clients part. Orders are shipped securely and packaged well. They offer a great range of salon products to choose from as well. read more

Unresponsive. Clearly they do not value their customers' time or patronage. Needed help with an exchange. Called but no answer. Emailed, but no response. Would not recommend doing business with this store. read more

The worst client service. I made an order 10 days ago. I still haven't received my purchase. You won't be able to reach them by phone nether email. You won't be able to ask what is the status of your purchase. read more

They have sent me everything I order in a timely manner! They also respond to emails promptly! I would definitely recommend this beauty spot. They have not let me down once. I have been placing orders here for a good amount of time so far. read more

After reading the negative reviews I was a bit skeptical, but I'm happy to report this company is quick to respond to emails and my items arrived super fast considering I ordered between Christmas and New Year. I will be ordering from them again Happy customer! read more

I am so happy that I found this place. I used to have to go to the salon every three weeks and pay $60. Now I just order the professional supplies that I need and I do it myself at home for less than $10 per time I am saving so much money. The packaging is spot on and all of the products have always been perfect when they arrive and they are authentic because they smell and have the same results as the salon. read more

Brighton Beauty Supply - Toned my hair with the Redken EQ Shades all by myself! - Cosmetics & Beauty Supply Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

BE WARY OF ORDERING ONLINE!!! Ordered 4 hair products on 6/17/12. Didn't hear from them for 3 days so I emailed them. No response, so I had to call them to get my order out. They finally processed my order on 6/22/12, and I received my package today 6/28/12 (shipped UPS Ground to California). Two of the bottles arrived in poor condition due to poor packing (see my pics). I feel that 10 days turnaround for internet purchases is too long in this day and age. I also think that if I hadn't called to push for my order to be processed, my order would still not have been processed to this day. The only positive is that their prices on the items I purchased were very competitive. I'd only consider buying from them again if their turnaround time, customer service, and packing improved greatly. read more

Please update your yelp and google hours and answer your phones. Drove all the way here and got here at 7:02 and they close at 7. Lady was standing in front of the door and couldn't even ask what I needed. It would've been an easy 60 second transaction. read more

DO NOT order anything from this place. Contact the Better Business Bureau in NY like I did to get your money back. I wish I would've done my research and looked here first, would've saved me from dealing with this scam of a business. Clearly the good reviews are fake or from the owner. My story is no different from all the others on here. Placed order, order pending, wait more and still no order being shipped. Called midweek and they said they didn't have the quantity I ordered, but I should receive it by Tues the following week (mind you I'm in LA). Tuesday comes & nothing arrives and no email of it being shipped. All my emails to cancel the order as well as phone calls during business hours unanswered. I ordered directly from the manufacturer and it arrives within 3 days.... A week later I had to have my AMEX involved and filed a complaint with the NY BBB. Then magically within days afterwards, I start receiving emails of order being prepared then a day later order being shipped. I simply refused the package on delivery and it was sent right back to them. Isn't it funny how fast things get done when fraudulent businesses realize they can't get away with such BS? They tried lying to the BBB about the timeline of how this entire annoyance occurred because clearly they forgot we're in the age of electronic paper trails & iPhones. Let me remind this business again: You do NOT take people's money, lie to them, intentionally not send the order, then ignore their emails & phone calls. That's called FRAUD! It's a very simple formula. You take the order, you fill the order, and you send the order. It's called running a legit business. You should try it. You're so welcome! read more

They've had notoriously bad reviews for years. However, I've ordered sporadically over the past 4 years and always manage to receive my order (usually with a bit of prodding on my part). If they were more reliable, I'd actually give them 5 stars as they carry certain items I can't find elsewhere. read more

I live in Brighton and I have lived here for 30 years. I am an American speaking citizen. Most of the people moved here speak Russian. A lot of the stores cater to all nationalities, but I found this supply store to be very rude when I Spoke only English. No rush to help me. Unfortunately, the store on Sheepshead Bay Road was closed. I found that store most helpful, and I hope you find this review even more helpful. read more

I was concerned about all of the negative reviews but my usual salon was out of my color and I couldn't find it anywhere else. I am very happy to report that I received my order quickly with zero drama. Thanks BBS. You have a new customer-and prob a few others because I told some friends. read more

Good price quick response with emails correspondence and delivery with reasonable time.

Wish I could give zero stars. Ordered five items. Only two were shipped even though they charged me for 5. Order was received but parts were missing and phone # to is disconnected. It not a mistake - it is a special way to do business. Beware this company is as close to a scam as you can get. Clearly the good reviews are fake or from the owner. My story is no different from all the others on here. read more

Extremely long shipping time. I only received part of my order and it took more than one month, despite being charged the day I ordered. When I emailed about the status of my order they responded with an excuse about Covid causing shipping delays. I'm not sure why one of my items was canceled from my order because it was listed as currently in-stock. I question the authenticity/age of the products. The Redken hair dye didn't dye to the corresponding level on the package. read more

I placed my order on March 31st and received my order on April 13th. Everything was packaged securely to avoid any spills and all that I ordered was accounted for. Initially, after reading the reviews on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau I was hesitant and since my order hadn't been shipped yet I decided to email asking to cancel my order but when I didn't receive a reply I decided to call but it went straight to voicemail. However, because of covid-19, I understand they are most likely low staffed and decided to let the order go through just to see if the reviews were right about this business being a "scam". I can't speak for the rest of the reviews but I did not receive expired products, I received everything I ordered, and it came within the expected delivery date. read more

The stuff is typical Russian extremely unfriendly and rude. She couldn't answer my questions and was bothered by me. She clearly rather wanted to continue her private phone conversation. I truly don't know how businesses like that still exist. read more

An awful place. Even though it's only a five minute walk from my apartment, I've only ever stepped foot in here a handful of times, which was whenever I was desperate and didn't care if I got ripped off. Their inventory is overpriced! On top of that, the customer service is near nonexistent. I came in one day to buy hair dye, all stored behind the counter, so I asked the worker (who was sitting down, eating a salad and talking on the phone) if she could get me the item I needed. She didn't even look up at me. She actually seemed a bit upset that there was business in the store. She put the salad down, kept talking on the phone (and almost sounded frustrated), got the product, charged me, and I left. When I got home, the box was oily (I'm assuming it was salad dressing) because she didn't bother to wipe her hands when she got me the product. Nice. I don't care how convenient this place is. I would much rather make a one hour commute to the city to shop for beauty products than deal with their lack of care for customers and their ridiculous prices. At least elsewhere I know I'll get some kind of customer service with a lot better deals. Beware! read more

I placed an order with this company before I saw the Yelp reviews. I have to say I was scared after I saw the reviews. But I had no problems whatsoever. The day after I placed my order they said they were backordered on an item. After seeing reviews that stated their order problems started with that, I was, again, worried. But then I got an email 2 days later saying the order was shipped. I just received everything today and it was well packaged. No damage to my products as some reviewers stated. I usually don't leave reviews, but it seems like this business only got the bad reviews. So I figured I would give it a positive because they deserve it. The communicated quickly about the backorder. Shipped quickly and packaged everything nicely. I can't complain and I will buy from them in the future. read more

I have been waiting weeks for my order. I cannot get any information as to when it will be received or if it was even shipped. I love this company and have ordered from them faithfully for the past 5 years. Sometimes you have to wait while a back order item isn't in stock but I completely understand. DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE SCAMMERS!! I placed an order on 4/25 and I received a confirmation email the same day stating that they were working on my order. The charge was taken out of my account 2 days later. I emailed them on 5/1 because I hadn't heard anything from them; they responded the next day that my order was delayed and said the ship date would now be 5/3. It is now 5/7 and I've yet to hear anything about my order and checking the status online it still says they're working on it. So I sent them an email today and told them that I would be disputing the charge with my bank and that I would never order from them again. DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE SCAMMERS!! read more

SCAM!!!!!! DON'T PURCHASE anything from this company!!!! I placed an order on September 22nd, they emailed few days later that my shipping address had some issues. I appreciated that they notified me and immediately replied them with a correct address. Now it's October 9th, I haven't received any email replies from them even though I sent them a follow up email. I ordered a Deva Curl blower/diffuser on January 6 - never received it. I called and asked for a refund - spoke to a lady that told me I was going to get a refund - to date have not received it.
