I've…read morelived here a long time and used all the other AC/Electrical businesses which were lackluster (ALL of them). I finally started using Miller 7 yrs ago for AC repair when a competitor told me it would be 2 wks before they could get to my house to fix my AC in the 100+ degree heat. Miller's staff a ton of service guys, it probably costs them a ton in overhead but it ensures you never have to go more than 24 hrs without AC, and they'll drive a loooong way to provide service. The guys call when they're on their way, show up on time, are professional, and complete the work correctly the first time...they also do things like check the Freon while they replace the fan so that they don't have to charge an additional service charge to do that later. A while back I had to upgrade my 70 yr-old electrical service box under the meter and initially contacted a competitor who told me it would be a while before they could get the part. I followed up weekly for 4 mo and they never did it. A call to Millers had that service box installed on my pole within 48 hrs, and they pulled in other wiring from added-on layer electrical projects which requires quite a bit more work, at less than the price I could buy the same service box on Amazon. I'm getting ready for another small electrical project and I'm not even considering anyone else. Give them a try, they won't disappoint.

New frig installed 4 days later, breaker flipped again. I knew it was the breaker but I won't mess with that type of electrical issues. Sent a request through Yelp and was contacted by Russell Electric. He wasn't able to make it until Wednesday. After our conversation he decided to come out that same night. (I had just lost a lot of food with the old frig and was rather frustrated with it all) It was 9:45pm. It took him 45min to an hour. Fixed the issue in like 15 min and made sure all was well before he left. He knew what he was doing and he explained it as he did. He gave me some information about the breaker and put my mind to rest. Friendly, courteous and just all around great guy. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MAN! I appreciate the willingness to go the extra mile. He will be who I call if I ever need anything ever again. Thank you again! I slept well knowing this was not an issue anymore.

Country Boy Electric - And another

Country Boy Electric

I'm retired now and I've had about a half dozen homes built over the years, both in Colorado and…read moreTexas. I've had experience with a lot of general contractors and subcontractors, almost all of it very positive. This outfit may not be the worst I've ever dealt with, but it's close. Jimmy Benton seems like a nice guy and he's probably a very good electrician. He's great at making promises and getting your business. I was led to believe he'd be doing the work on my new barndominium, probably with a helper or two. But instead of Texas Licensed Electrician Jimmy Benton, what I got was a gaggle of inexperienced, untrained, unsupervised, and (probably) unlicensed teenagers and 20-somethings. I've seldom witnessed more incompetence by "tradesmen", or such a lack of professionalism from a business owner. I can't count the number of times Jimmy promised to get work done on a firm date and then stood me up without even the courtesy of a phone call. I repeatedly had to postpone the other subs, always looked like an idiot after the third or fourth instance. I estimate that Country Boy's Electric cost me between 6 and 8 weeks on my little building project, not to mention untold frustration. Whenever his employees did show up (I call them the Kiddie Krew), they managed to screw up even this small and simple job repeatedly. Several switches and outlets had to be moved, causing a lot of avoidable drywall damage. (Check out the pictures.) A full bucket of stain got kicked over on a new floor. Then there was the light switch that gave me a shock, and the switches that still don't operate anything. Jimmy was always conspicuously absent when the Krew was on my job; I never once saw him with a tool in his hand. But he always magically appeared whenever he needed a draw. He's a master at not returning phone calls and avoiding confrontation; I once had to drive to Hamilton and corner him in his office. (I couldn't see his computer screen, but I suspect he was sitting there playing video games.) He did personally come to finish the job and address the safety issues on the last day, but only because I demanded it before paying him his final draw. Since my unfortunate experience with Jimmy and his Krew, I've talked to several other local tradesmen about them. I haven't yet heard a positive thing said. (They are commonly known in this area as The Goon Squad, but I still prefer to call them The Kiddie Krew.) Don't take my word on all of this; I'm not just a lone crank with a grudge. Do yourself a big favor and ask around about Country Boy's Electric before hiring them. Or at least ask to meet some of his "help" when Jimmy is giving you his sales pitch; you'll see what I mean.

Well that was the last we saw of the owner until it came time to pay the other half. As another reviewer said he is a master of promises but not at keeping them. We hired them to save time but it cost us more time on top of that because they never came back or returned calls to fix what they did wrong. About a 3rd or more of the wiring was wrong gauge or run to the wrong place or not run at all. My husband ended up having to buy the wire and do it, which defeated the reason of calling an electrician. It seemed like one of the three very young guys knew what he was doing and the other two didn't. We should have known from the moment they said they filled in the wire ditch and it was only about 1/2 done too! I make sure to leave reviews when a good job is done and I make sure to leave one when a bad job is done. Don't waste your time or money on these people. You will only end up with less money and more frustration. The sad part is I think the owner probably had a good business at one time. But not anymore. He needs to hire experienced men and supervise journeymen.
