The foundation he received in her classroom was huge for him and truly helped prepare him to be accepted into our first-choice, very competitive private school. My daughter started in Room 2, where Ms. Tracy helped potty train her (which I'll always be grateful for), and has since transitioned into Toddler Room 5 with the lovely Nancy. Ms. Dani, who floats around the classrooms is so loved, she's an amazing assisting teacher and an extra helping hand wherever it's needed, and it makes such a difference. The enrichment programs are also a huge bonus...Mandarin and Spanish classes, plus gymnastics and dance during recess, are things you don't find everywhere and add so much to the kids' experience. Whether you plan to continue on to public school (and we're lucky to have some of the best in Palos Verdes) or move on to a competitive private school, your child will be in great hands here. The principal, Michelle Collins, is wonderful, she's always around, approachable, and easy to talk to if anything ever comes up. We truly feel lucky to have had our kids at Rolling Hills Montessori. She is warm, organized, and genuinely invested in the children and families. You can tell the school is thoughtfully run, and communication is always clear and responsive. The teachers are also outstanding, particularly Ms. Trish and Ms. Michelle. They are patient, attentive, and truly understand how to support each child's development. Our two children have made incredible progress in early reading and writing skills, and the academic foundation being built here is impressive. Our daughter was very ready for Kindergarten when she started. Beyond academics, the school creates a joyful and family community. My eldest daughter who is now going on to 2nd grade pretty much grew up at TLC! She has been at this school--specifically the academy--for a whole year since the inception in 2019. She was in Mrs. Gray's class and even throughout all the drastic changes that happened due to the pandemic, my daughter, Mrs. Gray, the director, and all the children actually managed to thrive in the midst of it! My daughter started out struggling with her reading at the beginning of the year and with Mrs. Gray's help, she was able to learn at full-speed once it "clicked" for her. I have to give major compliments to the entire staff because unlike most other schools, these teachers kept in touch with us day and night or as much as we parents needed, since the lock down had taken such a great toll on everyone. The best part about TLC Academy is that they care about the children's academic education JUST as much as they do about their mental and spiritual well-being. Many Christian academies tend to water down their biblical teachings and lessons and are known to compromise, unfortunately. But TLC makes sure that the students come out academic geniuses (or something close to it) as well as spiritual giants simultaneously. Their prices are also EXTREMELY FAIR! But this time we do feel the urge to review and recommend Discovery World, the best childcare and preschool in South Bay Area! We originally toured DW in 2022 when our daughter was 18 months old. But because of their waitlist at that time, we decided to go to another daycare in this area. A huge mistake we really wish we hadn't made (a terrible experience for our little one and us parents too. We had to pull her out there after only one month). Fortunately our baby was able to join DW in 2023/08. Everything is different here. Experienced teachers, friendly staff, fun activities, and so much more! What really impressed us and drew contrast to other preschool is, how loving and caring everyone is at DW. Our daughter was shy at drop off. Every morning, the teachers (thank you Ms. Julie and Ms. Iana) would come greet her and hug her to help her ease into the classroom!!! Every teacher and staff knows every child very well, chats and plays with them. Teachers from different classrooms all learn about every student's hobbies (thanks Ms. Marni for reading "panda book" to our baby) and even their stuffie (they know the names of my daughter's TY "Jenni" kitties:-)).
