I went to Cabrillo Street Elementary in San Pedro, to enroll my kid but my experience was terrible…read more A woman in the office with the last name VIDACA was rude, incredibly impolite, disrespectful, inconsiderate and completely insolent. And the worst part was that the principal was inside her office with the door open and she didn't say anything! I was so disappointed that this lady could be rude and walk all over the staff as if she owned the school. Of course I grabbed my papers and I went to enroll my kid to Leland Street Elementary were I was treated with respect and my kid is having and amazing time. I don't have to worry about being mistreated by the first face I see in the morning!!! This lady should be fired! She should not work for LAUSD!!!

I can't believe I trusted this school with my daughter. I was lucky to have Ms Salazar along side…read moremy son when he was attending there, but after she left this school is pure evil and a complete sh*t show. I gave it a chance with my daughter, because the school is close to work and there are still some good teachers who actually care. The staff here really has some nerve. They do not take any complaint or constructive criticism the right way. They will call dcfs with false allegations when their staff alone needs help. Lets start with Ms. Patella who obviously needs mental help. She complains about the student to parents saying things like "These kids are driving me crazy" and calling the class "idiots" and looks burned out. Then we have the unprofessional Counselor Ms. Gastelum who always looks like she hasn't showered and had faded blue hair at one point (talk about unprofessional). She lacks in so many ways, I don't even know why she is a "counselor" and believe me, I am not the only parent who feels this way, because I've talked to plenty! They had a mouse infestation over the summer and you can smell it in the hallways, since then my daughter had to have an inhaler prescribed!! I came to pick up my child once and she is sitting in their office with blood running down her face with poorly bandaged butterfly stitches, that even the ER doctor was baffled!! What kind of school only has a nurse on certain days?? Claiming she ran into another student but then said it was a wall? This lets me know they do not supervise on the yard effectively. Let's not forget the time I brought my daughter pizza and cupcakes for the classroom and ended up staying because the teacher was nowhere in sight and they had a very young girl supervising a complete free for all in the class. That same week the teacher messaged me saying my 7 year old didn't come back to class after lunch? This isn't high school! How in the world does a 2nd grader get lost and then becomes the problem? The staff then accused my daughter of "dressing herself" because she has a unique style and likes to borrow some of my stuff. Sorry I allow my daughter to express her little fashion statement. They claimed she looks disheveled when the teacher herself looks like she rolls out of bed and has no patience! Your child will get bullied and nobody will return your calls or complaints for days even weeks! My poor daughter suffered stomach aches and anxiety because she was being hit by two boys and nobody ever addressed this and when they tried, they claimed "They are just being kids" The only hope this school has is Ms. McManess and the poor woman at the front desk that was the only help when I was frustrated. Beware! I made the best choice removing my child from this school. Since then my child is thriving, loves school and not a single complaint. The new staff, counselors and nurses at her school know what happened and have been a warm blessing to us! My coworker used to work there and she warned me about this and I should have listened, but like I said I trusted them with my child. These people have a special place for them.

Holy Trinity was the best decision we could have made for our children. Our son graduated from Holy…read moreTrinity School the year before last and is now beginning his second year at Loyola High School and is more than prepared. I cannot say enough about the community of teachers and staff that HT provides. This is a wonderful learning environment for our children. The regular curriculum allows for the children to take part in Spanish, computers (with state of the art equipment), hands on art and science and multiple sports teams through the sports program (volleyball, softball, baseball, track, cross country, soccer, basketball, archery, swim, etc.). We love HT and wouldn't have it any other way.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE…read more I am a current student of this hell hole and I am so happy that the school year will be over. There are countless issues that are in this school that NEED to be taken care of. One of the biggest issues is the shameless favoritism among the teachers and staff. There is currently a child of a teacher that goes unpunished despite displaying disgusting behavior. For example, this child has called a black classmate a "filthy black", and has called them the n word. Another issue are the bathroom stall locks. Especially in the girls bathroom people have ripped off locks and there are only holes in the doors. This has gotten so bad that the school has tried to fix the locks, but left the holes in the door. The holes are now filled with toilet paper and bottle caps. Another problem are the teachers at this school. This school hires teachers who are either decent, fresh out of college, or pedophiles (especially for male teachers). The majority of the staff are females, but they are most new or are never here. All of the male teachers (to my knowledge) have all been pedophiles and have touched the girls. Thankfully, they were swiftly taken care of and fired. The lack of discipline here is astounding. There is a classmate that I have that has joked about several serious topics and is in student council. They have joked about Epstein, rape, pedophillia, they have victim blamed, be straight up homophobic, and the entirety of WWII. He has been suspended MULTIPLE times and has yet to be expelled. I believe this classmates father has made a yelp review about favoritism, which he is not wrong about, but his son is not entirely innocent either. I have also found countless dead cockroaches in the halls and, there was even a cockroach THAT WAS ALIVE in one of the classrooms. There were also TWO separate occasions where a vape was found on school property. The first time, the staff didn't look into it. The second time, the students was found and only suspended for A DAY. I could continue, but I'm not interested in writing a bible's worth of text just to talk about this shitty school SUMMARY: This school is horrible and your child does NOT deserve to go here.

Despite kids getting hurt the principal declines any conferences with parents at any cost (saying he's in a meeting with staff, other parents or that its will be nearly impossible to speak to him... If its impossible with all the staffs run arounds. the "yard lady's" look the other way when this bullying is happening according so a few kids I spoke to. Bullying is a HUGE PROBLEM HERE, and I demand something done to this inadequate principal, I will report him to the district for not doing his job correctly or who knows.. Maybe he's just not FIT FOR THE JOB. Since you know... He can't even Handel parent conferences. Not even to talk about a potential obstacle that can come back and hit him in the face for not taking proper procedures. I'm a very angry parent and will get to the bottom of this even if it cost me money to see something correctly done for once at this school.

It becomes very clear very quickly that if you don't donate money or volunteer your time constantly your child is treated differently. Students whose parents give extra money or help out at the school seem to get special treatment and are rarely held accountable for their behavior.Meanwhile, other students are more harshly punished for the same actions or for standing up for their self against these kids that do not face punishment. There is obvious favoritism toward students who are close with staff, and their behavior is often ignored or dismissed altogether. The division between students is also very noticeable, especially between public school and private school students.Public school students are treated as if they are less important or less capable, while private school students are given more grace. Both of my children one is my daughters step sister, she is treated like a trouble maker and was told she is making the school look "bad" as if both the girls are not the same which they are.On top of that the school feels like a never-ending money grab. You have to pay for everything your kids lunch, sports, free dress day.And all this adds up quickly adding the monthly tuition i pay for especially for a school that claims to care about its students .It places far too much emphasis on money and connections rather than fairness, discipline, and equal treatment.
