My son started here about a year ago and Brighter Beginnings has been a Godsend for us. Prior to this, my son had a mild speech delay (thanks Covid) and was in speech therapy lessons. While I believe the therapy lessons were helping, it wasn't until my son started school here that his vocabulary and speech dramatically improved. The director, Ms. Britnee and all of his teachers have been wonderful and really care for their students. My son LOVES his teacher, Ms. Jenny and is always asking about her on his way to school. I really wanted to like this childcare program. It was first experience with any kind of school and having our daughter away from home. We did a trial and I decided to immediately remove her from their care and never look back. It's truly heartbreaking to walk into a classroom where the children are doing their Christmas performance and not see your child with the rest of the kids singing. My daughter was no where to be found in the crowd of kids and she wasn't with a teacher. I panicked and looked for her on my own.. only to find her in ALONE in the adjacent classroom walking around crying in the dark. Unacceptable and would never have my child put in this kind of situation again. This was neglectful. read more

I pulled my son out after less than a month because of the poor staff's communication skills. The breaking point was when I got him home one day and saw a big bite mark on his arm after removing his sweater. Staff did not notify me of this when I picked him up. When I asked they said it had happened 2 hours prior to pick up time and that they had created an incident report. I received the incident report hours after pickup. I should have been notified immediately when the incident report was created, but they clearly didn't write one until I called them out. I should have been notified at pickup, but they also chose not to tell me (probably in hopes that I just wouldn't notice). read more

This place is great. My son went here for two years. They are very helpful and the staff is very kind. Brittany is very nice and my son teachers names was and. Layla. He really enjoyed being in her class. She was very nice and patient with the kids. He didn't care to much for his first teacher but Brittany was kind enough to let him move up so he could have Ms. Layla. The price was very affordable and it is close to where my daughter goes to her after school program. read more

We sent our daughter here briefly, but ultimately decided to send her elsewhere. Everyone was nice and the place was clean, but we never saw the teachers engaging much with the kids. Every time we dropped her off or picked her up, the kids were playing on the playground and the teachers were chatting - I'm sure they did more after drop off, but I never got to see those interactions. Mostly, our daughter just wasn't happy there. She never came home with crafts or activities, couldn't think of anything fun to tell me about from the day, and cried every single morning at drop off for the entire month. One day, my husband went to pick her up and found her standing alone in the playground crying, with no one trying to help her. Contrast that with the other school we sent her to - she only cried for the first two days at drop off and then quickly became excited about school, she came home with crafts/activities, talked about her teachers and friends, and began to really flourish. She became more outgoing and confident. She even began to learn to read in Pre-K. I don't think she would have thrived like that if she had remained at Brighter Beginnings. read more

First of all this place is a little hidden gem in San Pedro The first impression I got from Brighter Beginnings was that it had a very nurturing and loving environment! This is the kind of environment I wanted for my daughter. From the very beginning I received a very warm welcoming from the school director Miss Britnee, she truly took her time to answer all 100 questions I had. Lol I recently had a rushed tour at a different school and they didn't quite seem to have the time to answer any questions... During the tour, I was blown away by their beautiful classrooms, each with a cute little theme. They displayed a lot of the kids work, which I personally loved to see. Another thing that stood out to me was how clean and up-kept everything was, truly one of the nicest schools I've visited so far! After looking at their daily schedule, I noticed all the fun little educational activities they do with the kiddos. This is a big one for me because I know my daughter will be learning daily lessons and academically growing. This is a truly a fantastic school! Like I said before, it's truly a little hidden gem in San Pedro I'm so glad I found them during my long search for a preschool. Brighter beginnings has been an wonderful experience for my children and I. When first starting with them Ms.Desiree, Ms.Miriam, and Ms.Brittany made the transition very comfortable and smooth. The school is very clean, teachers are on top of everything, they are very easy to talk to and always contact you for any situation. My child attended Brighter Beginnings San Pedro location for quiet a while. Unfortunately I ended up canceling my child's enrollment here due to us being very unhappy with how the school is being ran. The director is always on her phone or sitting in the front class room gossiping with the second in charge teacher. There is no parent acknowledgment, especially during drop off time. One teacher is very harsh when it comes to the children and was always on her laptop during the early morning drop offs. There was never a steady staff group and children being moved around constantly. This school needs some improvement. read more

I searched forever for the right place for my daughter, everywhere was kinda sketchy or dirty and what I thought was going to be a great fun experience ended up being a real headache. After searching on and off for several months I finally went to Brighter Beginnings and boy let me tell you it is wonderful! I love that it is more of a real school setting and super clean and organized. My daughter started when she was 19 months and she absolutely loves it there and is excited to go to school every day. She comes home with so much knowledge and her teachers are kind and amazing. They work with you on your schedule and you can check in on your little one at any time. It really is a wonderful place, I would recommend it to anyone in a heart beat and am so happy we found it. read more

So Far So Great!!! We had such a nice experience in this school! People are nice and kind! School is clean! Lots of crafts and nice educations :) Although, lots of preschools just let their students play free in the afternoon, the teachers of Brighter Beginnings are different. They take care of their students very very well in the afternoon also! That is a big plus point for the parents who wish children enjoy their school. My children attended this school before we moved to Texas. It was the best school they've ever attended! The staff was always on top of everything the children needed and so sweet to our family and my children. It's bright, cheery, and fun! They learned so much while attending there and I loved all the programs they put together for holidays! My children were always excited to go to school and see their teachers. Ms. Britnee, (the director) treated my family great, was always there for us in any way and always made my children feel welcome. My son recently started attending this preschool and I am very pleased with this school, the teachers and Director. They are all very friendly and I see alot of social interaction amongst the teachers and children which to me is a very positive point because it encourages my son to learn and interact more then he has been. This school was an ok experience for us. My son attended for around 6 months before we moved. Cons: -There was constant change in staff which was hard for my son. -Communication was iffy at best; we never really knew what was going on. They do have a monthly calendar but should utilize email more often for parent updates. - No AC (though I think they were working on getting it) it was literally over 95 degrees in the classroom at certain points in summer 2018 and it really seemed to wreck the teachers and kids. -Some staff (not all) seemed very irritated and overworked -Chaotic atmosphere; especially in the summer there is a high kid to teacher ratio -In the morning at times, before kids went off to their respective classrooms around 9am, there would be 20+ kids outside playing/climbing on the fence with 1 or 2 teachers sitting near the doors on the patio talking to eachother. Pros: -REALLY competitive prices for the South Bay long beach area. -some of the staff are warm and friendly and in fact my son still talks about one of the teachers who left while he was there. -Pretty clean for the number of kids attending -safety entry code, seems safe in general. My son's new school actually made me realize how not great brighter beginnings was which is why it took me 3 months to write this review. My son gets art sent home all the time now (never did at brighter beginnings), his teacher texts me and emails pretty regularly, (new teachers hardly even introduced themselves at Brighter Beginnings). This is not a BAD school, it's just not an outstanding one so it just depends on what you're looking for and how much you want to pay. read more

This was my daughter's 1st pre school she started in April of 2017. In the beginning it was hard for her but the staff and teachers were awesome. I can't say enough good things about Ms. Karina, she is patient kind and loving to the kids. My daughter just adores her. I'm glad wee tot was shut down. The school and the majority of the staff needed an overhaul. After B.B. took over, I was anxious to go see all the renovation. I went with a friend who also use to work at wee tot way before I did. We were just in awe after our visit! I have NOT heard anything bad about B.B. only but great things!
