What a great community family daycare!…read more My two year old daughter attended Davis Family Daycare for several months and she loved it.  Before she was even born I had her enrolled in Montessori school because of their waiting list, but she was no where near ready to go. I explained my situation to Mr Keenan, the owner of Davis Family Daycare, and he said they would work with her. The staff was fantastic and worked with her speech and occupational delays, and before I knew it she was coming home saying new words and reciting her ABC's and numbers.   Mr Keenan is great with the kids, and they all seem to really love both him and his staff. I can't thank them enough.

The outside area is set up super great for the kiddo's. I LOVE that most of the day is spent outdoors. The child care givers are amazing, kind, organized and professional. My grandson has never had diaper rash, his plastic containers I send food in are washed and placed back in my grandsons bag. My grandson takes long naps during the afternoon, (also very important). Keenan has always been professional, concerned about the welfare of his clients, and is constantly making improvements. Imagine a parent having an emergency and not being able to get ahold of anyone inside. Situations like this matter especially when you're trusting a facility with your child's care and safety.

Both teachers, Ms. Angie and Ms. Marizol, are truly wonderful with our son. They are encouraging, engaging, patient, and fun. We were told that it can take some children 1-3 months to stop crying after drop-off, but our son stopped crying after just the first week, which speaks volumes about the kindness and care they show him. What impressed us even more is how quickly we began to see growth. After just his first week, our son learned to sneeze into his arm, and we've noticed him forming his sentences more and more each day. The school provides weekly curriculum updates, which we love, and they also focus on a monthly book, reinforcing learning in a thoughtful, intentional way. It truly reflects an authentic Montessori learning style. The campus itself is adorable, spacious, and thoughtfully designed for children. The activities offered are precious and intentional, from the Thanksgiving kiddie potluck to Spirit Week and the Christmas recital. Another huge plus is that the school offers lunch and snacks for an additional $100 per month, which is very reasonable and takes a lot of daily stress off parents. The only con I would note is the number of days off throughout the year while still requiring full monthly tuition. This can be challenging, as it requires parents to take multiple days--and even weeks--off work. That said, it is the only downside we've experienced. We initially gave this school 5 stars, and while we still love and appreciate the teachers, it's important to note that a rating reflects the entire experience--including management. Since we don't deal with administration daily, it hasn't impacted us as much, but our confidence in upper management isn't what it once was. It's still a good option overall, especially because of the teachers--but don't expect the same level of excellence across the board.

We first met when she cared for our friends children, so without hesitation we chose Busy Bee Daycare for our daughter. She provides a fun, stimulating and positive home enviroment for the kids. She is dedicated to the children and families and builds strong bonds with them. Her home is clean and organized and her backyard outdoor area is a perfect place for the children to run around and play. She provides home cooked, well balanced healthy meals for the children. Young children thrive on consistency, routine and structure and she provides all of these. Snack, outdoor play, lunch, nap, etc...are always at the same time each day, so the children know exactly what to expect. Our daughter loves going to Ziba's, often times not wanting to leave. Busy Bee Daycare is a great place for kids to feel happy and at home. We couldn't ask for anything more!

The second day they called to complain that ny child was in a pull up. He was 2 about to turn 3 at the time and had just learned to potty on his own. Since he was transitioning from head start to this center I thought I'd put the pullup in case he would have an accident given that it was anew environnement and wouldnt know where the restroom was. I got a call from Pam stating "your child was wearing a pull up this is going to be a problem." Gave me no chance to explain anything or my reasoning I didnt know there was a rule against wearing pull ups! 3rd day i get a call that he was agressive and hit a teacher. He had been in head start for months and never had an issue with any teacher which keads me to think that someone did not know how to interact with him. He had a minor speech delay at the time as well so it was bad. Pam eluded to my child being a problem & pretty much forced me to say I wouldn't be bringing him back. The teacher appeared to have some delays herself. She closes her eyes for extended periods of time & take a while to get words out. The whole place was strange and Pam has no manners or tact when addressing behaviors. She seems to think that you talk and care for children like an adult. If you're considering this child care center go somewhere else.

I've waited a few years to write a review because I didn't want to review too early and not have a…read morethorough review. The biggest thing I've noticed is there's very little turnover rate. The same teachers have been working here for years. My daughter started here in the toddler room when we first moved to San Pedro in 2019. She moved from toddler to preschool to pre-k. The pre-k program is absolutely perfect. Your child will probably be reading before Kindergarten if you send them consistently. My daughter just started Kindergarten this year and she's one of the top students in her class and consistently gets complimented by her teacher on how bright she is. I had twin babies in 2021 and they started going to the infant room. I can't say enough great things about the infant room. The teachers and director truly care about my babies and I have zero mom guilt about bringing them.
