Rolling Hills Montessori has been great for our little boys! We really love the grounds -- the trees & shaded playground that goes into a sandy play space really make it for us. We have also loved meeting the other parents and families -- as new PV residents, that was also a nice perk for us. Their full hours are 7:30am to 6pm, which has also been helpful for us as we both work. Overall, it has been a wonderful experience that I would recommend.

36-months-old.

I've been on yelp for 14 years and this is my 7th review - I only spend the time to write a review when it's important to me. And, Rolling Hills Montessori is very important to me. My older two children attended two wonderful preschools, but when it came time to enroll my third child in preschool I renewed the process of reviewing schools. I decided to enroll my youngest of three children at RHM - I wish I had found it sooner. I remember decades ago I didn't have a cellphone and I put off purchasing one because I knew that once I had a cellphone I could never go back to not having one. Then, I had a "stupid phone". When I was using my "stupid phone" I put off replacing it with a "smart phone" because I knew once I got a "smart phone" I could never go back to using a "stupid phone". Well, then I got a smart phone and I wondered why I waited so long. RHM is the "Smart Phone" - I thought my children's first preschool (a highly rated multilingual, modern, enrichment-rich, Montessori school) was wonderful until my children began attending the second school (an amazing nature-focused, preparatory school led by certified Early Childhood Specialists and licensed Lead Preschool Teachers). Then, I was happy with their second school, until I found RHM. Finally, I know my youngest child is receiving the best preschool education of all my children. The instruction and lessons in the classroom at RHM carry over to the skills and interests that my youngest child is displaying at our home. She is a happy and responsible child, and is developing skills faster than either of my older children. Once you tour the grounds, see the classrooms, and meet Ms. Michelle (the school wouldn't be here without her) you'll know what I know - this is the best place for kids and the parents who love them.

Sharing our love for RHM Preschool! All three of my kids have thrived here, thanks to the caring and nurturing teachers who truly understand their individual needs. The variety of extracurricular activities keeps my kids excited, and I appreciate how the owner ensures a safe environment while promoting independence. Grateful for this wonderful place that is my babies' second home!

Ms. Razana and Ms. Voji deserve a special shoutout for always taking the extra time to make our kids feel special and cared for. It's clear that they genuinely know and care about the children. We've also loved seeing how much our kids have grown in confidence, social skills, and their academic foundation. The summer program was a great bonus--fun, engaging, and enriching. We'll definitely miss PVMA when kindergarten comes around. We're so grateful for the wonderful start they've given both of our kids!

But this time we do feel the urge to review and recommend Discovery World, the best childcare and preschool in South Bay Area! We originally toured DW in 2022 when our daughter was 18 months old. But because of their waitlist at that time, we decided to go to another daycare in this area. A huge mistake we really wish we hadn't made (a terrible experience for our little one and us parents too. We had to pull her out there after only one month). Fortunately our baby was able to join DW in 2023/08. Everything is different here. Experienced teachers, friendly staff, fun activities, and so much more! What really impressed us and drew contrast to other preschool is, how loving and caring everyone is at DW. Our daughter was shy at drop off. Every morning, the teachers (thank you Ms. Julie and Ms. Iana) would come greet her and hug her to help her ease into the classroom!!! Every teacher and staff knows every child very well, chats and plays with them. Teachers from different classrooms all learn about every student's hobbies (thanks Ms. Marni for reading "panda book" to our baby) and even their stuffie (they know the names of my daughter's TY "Jenni" kitties:-)). DW communicates with parents all the time (photos and videos every day, several teacher-parent conferences every year). DW offers great curriculum and the teacher execute very well. And DW organize the best activities (playing basketball at The LAB is my daughter's favorite). There are so much more to say about DW... We can't thank you enough Ms. Liana and your whole DW team for the amazing work in our little ones' early education!!!

He is high-functioning but has difficulty communicating and expressing his needs verbally. He has also just turned 2, so he still had a lot of growth to do. I was asked whether I would be able to provide support or assistance for him while he attended. I am a working mom, they wanted me to be at the school with him which I cannot because how would I be able to afford the tuition without working. I was then told that I would receive a call back, but no one ever followed up with me after I was told on the phone I would need to assist him in the school. Although, my child has autism he is very capable. I think the word taunted the director creating a bias before even actually working with my child. The experience left me feeling that the school is not inclusive. I would recommend looking elsewhere if your child is neurodivergent or has any type of learning disability in any way. Thankfully, my child is now attending another school where he is welcomed, supported, and thriving.

Over the past 2 and half years, we have seen significant growth in her emotional and mental well being. We do not have any close family near by so initially she had a hard time warming up to the teachers/support she did not see on a normal basis. The teachers, directors and the Montessori approach made it easier for her to become the little confident person she is today in which I thank them for their care and support. Additional Notes: The school itself is located on PCH so it is a busy during rush hour. There are times that getting in and out of the school can be troublesome. However, the school itself feels secure and I didn't worry too much about her safety as there are a lot of gates. Since we have been there for a while, we have seen a few changes in staff and was questionable at times. However, the current director does her best to manage the changes and notifies the parents as soon as possible. The director and teachers are very caring and do their best to accommodate the changes as well. The school uses an app for communication about your child and it is very convenient as they update throughout the day such as meals and if they took a nap, etc. It made me feel less anxious. I do feel that they are aligning well with the academics while fully embracing the Montessori guidance. My daughter does well with independent play and loves to learn. She shows an interest in many subjects. Thank you PCMA for the good memories and we will miss you guys!

My son's speech has exploded since he started school here and his food palate has expanded too. The best part is that most Montessori's don't accept children under 18 months but we are able to send both 6 month old and 2.5 year old to the same school. Both children love going to school everyday and I cannot be happier. Also, did I mention meals and snacks are provided for? This is a huge bonus as my partner and I both work.

As an African…read moreAmerican parent, I want to share our experience because feeling welcomed, respected, and heard by our child's school is important to our family. Before making our decision to disenroll, I read all available reviews. Notably, multiple African American families described experiences that were strikingly similar to ours, including concerns regarding communication, behavioral responses, and feeling unwelcome. While I cannot independently verify the experiences of other families, the consistency of these accounts, including reviews spanning several years, raises serious concerns for me about an unresolved pattern of implicit and, in some instances, explicit bias. Our primary concerns involved safety, supervision, communication, and collaboration. Our toddler was given no grace as this was a new environment and had attended the school for less than one month. Our toddler exited the classroom, and we were told that two staff members were assigned to the classroom. There are two classrooms separated by a partition. Our toddler crossed the partition and entered another classroom. We understand that leaving the classroom is a safety concern. At the same time, we wanted to understand the circumstances surrounding the exit and the supervision in place at the time. The immediate decision to have our toddler removed from school was difficult for us to understand and, given his age, felt punitive rather than educational. Our toddler crossed a partition and was subsequently removed from school. Our concerns about the overall environment also came from our direct observations. My child would say hello to staff and was sometimes not acknowledged. I observed his teacher look at him when he arrived without speaking to him. On other occasions, staff either looked at me without speaking or did not make eye contact. When my hands were full, an elementary school student helped me open the toddler gate while staff members were only a few feet away and talking among themselves. We also had difficulty with some relatively simple requests. For example, we asked for adjustments to our individual access codes and requested that staff use our child's shortened name, which he was able to pronounce. We did not feel these requests were met with the level of flexibility or collaboration we were seeking. I am sharing our experience so prospective families can make an informed decision. I deeply regret entrusting our child to this school. Families should be able to expect respectful communication, appropriate supervision, and meaningful collaboration when concerns involving their child arise.
