Specialties
Child Care and Early EducationBright Years Academy Middletown is our flagship center, serving the Middletown community since 1996. It is a NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accredited center, and some of our Middletown teachers have been with us since 1996. Through our strong relationship with the Middletown Board of Education, we participate in the Middletown School Readiness Program. Our company-owned building has been well-maintained and updated through the years.
Large windows bring warm, natural light into our classrooms. Infant and toddler classrooms have space for up to 8 children with 2 teachers, and preschool classrooms fit up to 10 children with 1 teacher, or 20 children with 2 teachers. Our indoor gym has a climbing wall for large motor play on rainy or extra-cold days. Outdoors, we have 3 separate playgrounds for young toddlers, toddlers, and preschoolers, with safety gates, nationally acclaimed, age-appropriate equipment, shaded structures, grassy areas, and a gazebo on the preschool playground.
Parking spaces are close to the entrance for easy drop-off and pick-up, and there is a designated area to leave your child’s car seat. For security, a key fob entry system allows access only for enrolled families and staff, and cameras monitor every classroom, hall, entrance, and outdoor play area.
History
Established in 1996.
In 1996, mother and entrepreneur April Lukasik found herself searching for child care options that suited her needs and the standards she had for her own children. After envisioning the ultimate child care experience, she decided she wanted to realize this vision for herself, so she tapped into her entrepreneurial spirit and founded the first of many Bright Years Academy.
Bright Years Academy is expanding and growing in a thoughtful manner, staying true to the Core Values that make the company a wonderful place for families to choose as a solution for early care and education for their children, and a fulfilling place to be a Teacher. With new Bright Years Academy locations opening, attention is given to being steadfast to the familiar culture and excellent reputation in the field of early childhood.
Meet the Business Owner: April L.
When her children were toddlers, April found herself searching for child care options and could not find what she was looking for. Not finding what she was looking for, and with the entrepreneurial ping in her heart, April spent the next nine months renovating a 10,000 square foot building, setting up 16 classrooms, enrolling 150 families and hiring a staff of 30. She was now ready to bring to market the kind of child care and preschool center she wanted for her own children.
